Spokane KOA Journey Introduce
Are you searching for exceptional "camping near me" in the Spokane area? Look no further than the Spokane KOA Journey, situated at 3025 N Barker Rd, Spokane Valley, WA 99027, USA. Easily reachable by phone at (509) 924-4722 or mobile at +1 509-924-4722, this campground serves as a convenient and well-equipped base for exploring the natural beauty and attractions of the Spokane region.
Spokane KOA Journey aims to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for a variety of campers, whether you're traveling in a fully equipped RV, prefer the traditional tent camping experience, or desire the cozy convenience of a cabin. As a part of the well-known KOA (Kampgrounds of America) network, Spokane KOA Journey strives to maintain certain standards of quality and service that many campers have come to expect.
Based on customer feedback, one of the standout features of this campground is its friendly and accommodating staff. Many reviewers have highlighted the welcoming atmosphere and the helpfulness of the hosts in ensuring a pleasant stay. The campground layout has also been praised as being well-organized, making navigation and setting up camp relatively straightforward.
For families with children, the presence of a nice playground is a significant advantage, offering a dedicated space for kids to play and burn off energy. This amenity contributes to a family-friendly environment within the campground.
Cleanliness is another aspect that receives high marks in the reviews. Guests have consistently mentioned the restrooms and showers as being absolutely spotless and spacious. This attention to hygiene is crucial for a comfortable camping experience and reflects a commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facilities. Additionally, the availability of a nice laundry facility is a practical convenience for longer stays, allowing campers to easily take care of their laundry needs.
However, it's important to consider all aspects of the location as mentioned in the provided reviews. One recurring point is the proximity of the campground to a train track. According to one reviewer, trains run throughout the night and frequently sound their horns. This could be a significant factor for light sleepers or those sensitive to noise. It's advisable to bring earplugs if you are concerned about potential noise disturbances during the night.
Another environmental factor mentioned is the bordering of the campground by mobile home parks on either side. While this may not directly impact the amenities or services within the KOA itself, it's part of the overall surroundings and might influence the aesthetic appeal for some visitors. Additionally, there was a mention of some apparently homeless individuals staying in tents at the campground. While this observation is anecdotal and may not be representative of the general atmosphere, it's something to be aware of.
Connectivity is an important consideration for many travelers, and one reviewer noted that the WiFi did not work well during their stay. If reliable internet access is crucial for your trip, it might be wise to have a backup plan or inquire about the current status of the WiFi service before your arrival.
For RVers, the location of the sewer hookup was mentioned as being in a somewhat inconvenient place, potentially requiring extra length of tubing for connection. If you are traveling in an RV, it might be beneficial to double-check the specifics of the hookups at your assigned site and ensure you have the necessary equipment.
Despite these drawbacks, the campground does offer some positive environmental aspects as well. One reviewer appreciated the beauty of the fall leaves during their stay, suggesting that the natural surroundings can be quite attractive at certain times of the year.
In summary, Spokane KOA Journey offers a range of services and features that make it a viable option for "camping near me" in the Spokane Valley. You can expect friendly staff, a well-organized layout, a playground for children, and exceptionally clean restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. However, potential guests should be aware of the proximity to a train track with nighttime train traffic and horn sounds, the surrounding mobile home parks, and the possibility of unreliable WiFi. RVers should also consider the potential need for extra sewer hookup tubing.
For those seeking a convenient and amenity-rich camping experience in the Spokane area, Spokane KOA Journey provides a solid base. It caters to various camping preferences, including RV sites with full hookups, tent sites for a more traditional experience, and cabin rentals for added comfort. While specific promotional information was not provided in the reviews, KOA campgrounds often have seasonal offers or discounts available, so it's recommended to check their official website or contact them directly for any current promotions.
When planning your next camping trip near Spokane, consider the Spokane KOA Journey for its friendly service and well-maintained facilities. Weigh the positive aspects against the potential drawbacks mentioned in the reviews to determine if it aligns with your camping needs and preferences. Remember to call (509) 924-4722 or +1 509-924-4722 for reservations and to inquire about any specific concerns you may have, such as the WiFi connectivity or the location of hookups for RV sites. By considering all available information, you can make an informed decision and plan a memorable camping experience in the Spokane Valley.

Spokane KOA Journey Reviews
Awesome KOA! Friendly staff! Great campground layout. Nice playground. The restrooms/showers are absolutely spotless and spacious! Nice laundry! Thank you for making our stay wonderful!!!!!!
May 02, 2025 · Matthewseven13The most charming part of the location is that it borders a train track and the train runs throughout the night, blaring its loud horn. The second most charming part is that the park is bordered on either side by dumpy mobile home parks. There were a few obviously homeless people staying there in tents. The WiFi did not work well, the sewer hookup was in a weird place and we would have needed 30’ extra of tubing to connect both our sewage sites. The bathrooms were decent. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, and the fall leaves were really pretty!
Oct 16, 2024 · Hannah HowellWe enjoyed our stay and appreciated how flexible the hosts were, especially with our pets. We could not get hot water in the shower of our cabin but the central shower facilities were great.
Nov 30, 2024 · Joshua SeagraveFriendliest place I’ve been in Washington. They have good folks running the place. It’s a very homey, welcoming place.I stayed in one of the cabins. It was cozy.Above all it was peaceful and safe.Thank you to all who makes it so.
Oct 28, 2024 · The Demon DeanGreat location for exploring Spokane & Coeur d'Alene Idaho. We had a wonderful corner site in the pull through row. Friendly staff & newly remodeled office. Yes, train in the distance but didn't really notice it but once or twice in 4 days.Problem - grounds were dirty( trash in road for 4 days) & bathrooms were gross. I think maybe they had no staff to help. Never saw a campworker the whole 4 days. Campground very busy ( lots of cute tent sites) so bathrooms were heavily used & were trashed every morning.
