Spruces Campground Reviews
Spruce Campground on Big Cottonwood Canyon Road is absolutely stunning, especially in the winter. The snow blankets everything, creating a peaceful and magical atmosphere. The trees look incredible covered in white, and the air is crisp and refreshing. The best part is the river that runs right by the campground. In winter, you can hear the gentle sound of the water flowing, even with snow all around. It adds to the beauty and makes the whole place feel like a winter wonderland. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy nature and the serenity of the season.
Nov 28, 2024 · Amir A.Fun campsite, winter hike with school and learned fun things about the environment.
Mar 10, 2025 · Nicole HurstWe rented a group campsite and it was so nice. The campsite was in good shape, and we very easily fit 40 people. This is the perfect spot to gather and spend a very nice time up in the mountains. It’s beautiful, easy access to see the river and other trails, and lots of shade and trees.
Jul 02, 2024 · Jonathan WilliamsWe were at lower 11 campground. This is a double site. Most of the area was in full sun so we broke out our shade canopy in the middle section and over the table. There are two fully shaded spots for tents. One of them is at a slight incline but it worked for us.There are also two benches , two grills for charcoal and a fire pitIt’s also right by the restroom with flush toilets. We did two hikes while we were there to lake Catherine and to donut falls. Both required us to drive to the trailhead. The camp was quiet and we enjoyed our first time to this area and would come back.
Jul 28, 2020 · J SAs soon as I pulled in, this was one of my favorite campgrounds. The aspen's, the trees, and the surrounding nature is amazing. The campground has plenty of amenities as in bathrooms and water, however the campground does not offer any hookups. However there is a campsite right next to campsite number one that has a faucet and a threaded valve so you can fill up your tanks. My only complaint about this campground is the gates are locked and closed from 10:00 to 6:00. So if I wanted to go into town I had to make sure I was back in by 10:00 p.m. Not a huge deal and I understand why they do it.This campground is very family friendly. There is even a trail that leads to donut falls, an easy 3 mile hike to a waterfall.
