Redman Campground Reviews
One of the most beautiful campgrounds I’ve been in. I was in site number 2 and I loved how there was no other site in one of the sides and the camp host and closest site were far enough to have good privacy. The campsite is very well maintained and clean. Even the restrooms were spotless. Tons of chipmunks and squirrels, saw also deers, mushrooms and wildflowers. Good site to solo camp. l would recommend to walk the campground loop closest to the mountain. Nice views of the forest, little creeks, and cool boulders.
Aug 29, 2023 · Alba González HernandoBeautiful, spacious campgrounds. Super close to donut falls and silver lake. Our campsite was picturesque. Gorgeous stream flowing directly on the path behind our tent. We saw deer, ground rodents and chipmunks taking bites of mushrooms. Great tent camping. The bathrooms are a bit of a jaunt, but very well kept main bathrooms. Definitely going back.
Sep 01, 2023 · Amanda BoydRedman Campground, in Salt Lake’s Big Cotton Wood Canyon, is a great place to camp with your family. Just minutes from the city, temperatures run 10 to 15 degrees cooler than the Salt Lake Valley. Even in August the evenings can get cool (50s or 60s), so pack a light jacket and a blanket for sleeping. Each campsite has a large table and a fire pit. Plenty of wood available to burn if you bring your own saw, axe or hatchet. These campsites are designed more for camping in tents than for trailers.Campsite #35 is our favorite because it is shaded by the trees almost all day and has lots of clear space for tents, hammocks and lounging. It is a double campsite, made for 2 families, and carries a double fee. Any more than 2 vehicles incur an fee of $9. Another reason we like this campsite is it is close to restrooms with flush toilets. Some of the toilet facilities in Redman Campground are the old fashioned outhouse style.NO DOGS are allowed in Big Cottonwood Canyon because its part of the watershed for the Salt Lake valley. This means you are not to touch or play in any streams or waterways. No hands or feet in the water.
Sep 07, 2020 · Spudnut FestivalAs campground go this one is great. You feel like you are very secluded because the sites are spread apart. The campground is clean and there is plenty of space for the kids to roam. The hosts are fine. They were friendly which is very, very, very, very uncommon. We paid for a double site which also means the fee was double. We can have up to 16 people in the site but they only allow 2 cars...for 16 people... Dumb!
Aug 06, 2020 · Scott DawBest campground within 35 minutes of downtown SLC. High elevation, pretty pine trees, streams, and wildlife. Short walk to Solitude Ski Area mountain village. Great way to escape the summer heat without having to spend all day driving. Usually lots of moose and deer, situational awareness recommended. We even found this Tiger Salamander.
