Stony Brook Outfitters Introduce
For local residents of Maine and the surrounding areas seeking a unique "camping near me" experience that combines comfortable lodging with exceptional guided hunting opportunities, Stony Brook Outfitters, located at 55 Morrison Hill Rd in Wilton, ME 04294, presents an interesting option. While the primary focus of the available information highlights their outfitting services for hunting expeditions, the potential for cabin stays associated with such operations warrants consideration for local users interested in a more structured and supported outdoor adventure. You can reach Stony Brook Outfitters at (207) 778-4077 or their mobile number, +1 207-778-4077, to inquire about lodging possibilities and hunting packages.
The environment surrounding Stony Brook Outfitters in Wilton, Maine, is likely characterized by the natural beauty of the region. Wilton is situated in a rural part of Maine, known for its forests, lakes, and rivers, making it an attractive area for outdoor activities, particularly hunting. Local users searching for "camping near me" who are also avid hunters will appreciate the potential for immersing themselves in this environment. The reviews mention successful bear hunts in New Brunswick, suggesting that Stony Brook Outfitters may also have access to prime hunting locations beyond their immediate vicinity, further expanding the environmental scope of their offerings.
Based on the customer reviews, the primary service offered by Stony Brook Outfitters is guided hunting expeditions. They appear to specialize in bear hunts, with notable success rates reported by clients. The positive experiences shared highlight the expertise and professionalism of the outfitters, Bob & Jaye Parker, and their guides, such as Steve, who is specifically commended for his excellent guidance. The high success rate, with one group of 19 hunters harvesting 16 bears in a week, speaks to the quality of their outfitting services and the potential for a rewarding hunting experience for local enthusiasts.
The reviews also implicitly suggest certain features associated with a hunting outfitter that might be relevant to local users looking for "camping near me" with a hunting focus. These could include well-maintained hunting stands, effective baiting strategies (as mentioned in one review where a client helped put out bait), and knowledgeable guides familiar with the local wildlife and hunting regulations. The overall organization and management of the hunts appear to be well-regarded, contributing to a positive and potentially "once in a lifetime" experience for their clients.
While the reviews do not explicitly detail the lodging accommodations offered by Stony Brook Outfitters, it is common for hunting outfitters to provide cabins or similar lodging options for their clients. This would serve as a convenient and comfortable base for hunters during their expeditions. For local users interested in a "camping near me" experience that is centered around a guided hunt, the availability of on-site cabins would be a significant advantage over traditional camping, offering more amenities and comfort after a day in the field. Potential features of such cabins could include beds, heating, basic cooking facilities, and restrooms, although the specific amenities would need to be confirmed directly with Stony Brook Outfitters.
Given the nature of their services as a hunting outfitter, Stony Brook Outfitters likely caters to individuals and groups interested in pursuing specific game during designated hunting seasons. The reviews focus on bear hunts, but it is possible that they offer guided hunts for other game species as well, depending on the local wildlife and regulations in Maine and New Brunswick. Local users with specific hunting interests should inquire about the types of hunts offered and the best times to book based on the hunting seasons.
The strong positive testimonials from past clients serve as a form of implicit promotion for Stony Brook Outfitters. The repeated mentions of returning for future hunts and the enthusiastic recommendations highlight the satisfaction of those who have used their services. For local users considering a guided hunt and associated lodging, these reviews provide a degree of confidence in the quality and professionalism of Stony Brook Outfitters.
However, it is important to note that the primary focus of the provided information is on the hunting aspect of Stony Brook Outfitters. There is no explicit mention of cabin rentals for non-hunting purposes or any specific promotional offers related to lodging alone. Therefore, local users interested solely in renting a cabin for a general "camping near me" experience without participating in a guided hunt would need to contact Stony Brook Outfitters directly to inquire about the availability and terms of such rentals. It is possible that cabins are primarily reserved for hunting clients, but it is worth exploring if they have any availability for others seeking a comfortable stay in the Wilton area.
In conclusion, Stony Brook Outfitters in Wilton, Maine, appears to be a highly reputable hunting outfitter with a track record of successful guided bear hunts. For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience that is intertwined with a professionally organized hunting expedition, Stony Brook Outfitters offers expertise, experienced guides, and potentially on-site cabin accommodations. While the information does not detail cabin rentals independent of hunting packages, local residents interested in this possibility should contact them directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about lodging options and any potential availability for non-hunting stays. The strong positive reviews from hunting clients suggest a high level of service and a potentially memorable outdoor experience in the Maine wilderness.

Stony Brook Outfitters Reviews
Great outfitter, this was my first hunt with them and I'm definitely going back. We did the spring bear hunt in new brunswick, and 4 out of 5 guys harvested bears. Very happy with the entire experience, Bob & Jaye Parker and their guides are awesome.
Jun 20, 2023 · J LBooked a hunt in 2019.I was on my stand for a total of 40 minutes. Got a 157 lbs male black bear. Steve, my guide was GREAT. My hunting experience was cut short, but I had a great time. I help my guide put out bait the rest of the week. We had 19 hunters and ended the week with 16 bears.IF YOU WANT A HUNT OF A LIFE TIME. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG.THANKSSHONEY BROOKLYMAN NEWTON
Mar 18, 2023 · Lyman NewtonI’ve been to several hunting camps in Maine over the last 20 plus years and have to say that Bob Parker has one of the best organized and ambitious operations I’ve had the pleasure of visiting. The food is nothing less than excellent and the work/effort put in by all the guides is top notch!First class operation that is very aware of/conscious of each hunters wants and needs.
