Troll Valley Camp Ground Introduce
For local users seeking "camping near me," Troll Valley Camp Ground, located at 121 Troll Hagen Ln, Farmington, ME 04938, USA, presents a camping option with mixed reviews regarding its overall quality and upkeep. You can contact them at (207) 778-3656 or their mobile number, +1 207-778-3656, for inquiries.
The environment surrounding Troll Valley Camp Ground in Farmington, Maine, has aspects that may appeal to specific users. One reviewer noted that the location is "ideal for travel nurses" due to a trail right down the road leading to the hospital in less than 10 minutes. This suggests a convenient proximity to medical facilities, which might be a significant advantage for those in the healthcare profession seeking temporary accommodation within the "camping near me" category. However, another reviewer described the campground as "muddy, unkempt," and mentioned "wood and metal trash" on their site, indicating that the natural environment within the campground itself might not be well-maintained in all areas. The presence of potholes and dips on the campground roads, where gravel had been washed away, further suggests potential issues with the infrastructure and overall tidiness of the grounds. While the location offers convenience for some, the immediate environment of the campsites and roads appears to be a point of concern for at least one visitor.
The services at Troll Valley Camp Ground also received mixed feedback. The owner, Mike, is described by one reviewer as a "super nice hard working guy," and the gentleman who checked in another guest was noted as "very kind." This suggests a positive and friendly interaction with at least some of the staff. However, one reviewer found the bathhouse to be severely neglected, with showers that "smelled terrible, musty and moldy." This indicates a potential lack of adequate maintenance of essential facilities. While the campground offers pull-through sites, one guest found their assigned site to be "very tiny," making it difficult to maneuver a 25' travel trailer, and only manageable due to an adjacent empty site. This suggests that the size and layout of some sites might be restrictive. The availability of basic hookups (water, electricity, sewer not explicitly mentioned but common for pull-throughs) can be inferred, but details are lacking. For local users considering this for "camping near me," the friendliness of the owner is a plus, but the reported condition of the bathhouse and some campsites is a significant drawback.
The features of Troll Valley Camp Ground include its potentially convenient location for travel nurses working at the nearby hospital, thanks to the direct trail access. The friendliness of the owner, Mike, as highlighted by one reviewer, could also be considered a positive feature. However, other aspects mentioned in the reviews paint a less favorable picture. The small size of some pull-through sites, the muddy and unkempt conditions of at least one site, and the poor condition of the bathhouse, particularly the smelly showers, are significant negative features reported by a visitor. The pot-hole ridden roads within the campground also detract from the overall experience. For those searching for "camping near me," the convenience for travel nurses might be a unique feature, but the reported neglect of the sites and facilities would likely be a major consideration. The stark contrast between the positive experience with the owner and the negative experience with the site conditions and bathhouse suggests an inconsistency in the overall quality.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for Troll Valley Camp Ground from the provided reviews. The positive comment about its suitability for travel nurses could be seen as a niche appeal, but there are no broader promotions mentioned. The negative review, particularly regarding the condition of the campground and its facilities relative to the price paid, might deter some local users looking for "camping near me." Potential campers would need to weigh the convenience for travel nurses and the reported kindness of the owner against the issues raised about the site conditions and the bathhouse.
In conclusion, Troll Valley Camp Ground in Farmington, ME, offers a "camping near me" option that is notably convenient for travel nurses working at a nearby hospital. The owner is also described as very nice. However, some visitors have experienced significant drawbacks, including small and poorly maintained campsites, muddy conditions, trash on sites, pothole-filled roads, and a severely neglected and foul-smelling bathhouse. Local users considering this campground should be aware of these contrasting experiences and perhaps seek more recent information or reviews to get a current understanding of the campground's condition before making a decision.

Troll Valley Camp Ground Reviews
This spot is ideal for travel nurses! There is a trail right down the road from the campground that leads you right to the hospital in less than 10 min! Mike the owner is a super nice hard working guy!
Jun 06, 2023 · Michelle RossiI used this campground for only one night. If I am being honest, this has to be the worst campground I have ever stayed in, especially considering the price paid. The gentleman who checked us in was very kind, so I feel bad for what I am about to write, but the good things to say truthfully end there. The pull through site I was in was very tiny making it difficult to maneuver my 25' travel trailer. Luckily one of the sites next to me was empty, otherwise it would have been impossible to get in or out of the site. It was also muddy, unkempt, and had wood and metal trash in the site. Driving around the campground, the roads were riddled with pot holes and large dips where water clearly washed all the gravel away. All of the sites appeared to be severely neglected, as was the bathhouse. The showers smelled terrible, musty and moldy. All in all, a very disappointing campground that I would not recommend.

Oct 16, 2018 · P Princess (皮公主)Campsites look nothing like the website. This is more of a Camp and Play Disc Golf, then go do something else that isn't here. Campsites are relatively tiny and not meant for RV camping, which is generally the only way you'll be able to have multiple families on site as most of the campsites are that small. The disc golf course is pretty great, but obviously more well maintained than the actual campsites themselves. Staff were extremely friendly, but its clear where priorities are and unfortunately the camping side of things seems more like a side gig for this place when compared to the golf course. Especially since there seems to be campsites on/in and immediately around the disc golf course. Not something one typically expects when playing. However, if you're more into solo camping with a more woodsy feel, this site is for you. Unfortunately, this campground is not for me.
Sep 05, 2021 · Steve PageI have never camped here, but i have played the disc golf course several times. The owner is nice and the course is always nice. I'm a fairly new player and I find that the course is challenging but it doesn't make you want to throw your discs away and quit.
