Swan Lake Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in the Swan Lake, Montana area? Let's take a closer look at Swan Lake Campground, located on NHN, MT-83, Swan Lake, MT 59911, USA. While no phone number was provided, this campground offers access to the scenic Swan Lake and surrounding natural beauty.
When considering "camping near me," the environment, available services, and features are key aspects to evaluate. Swan Lake Campground, situated in the picturesque Swan Lake region of Montana, offers a lakeside setting that appeals to various outdoor enthusiasts. Based on the available customer reviews, we can gather insights into what this campground provides.
One reviewer describes Swan Lake Campground as "a beautiful place for camping, clean, quiet, and access for fishing." These are significant positives for those seeking a tranquil and nature-oriented camping experience. The mention of cleanliness suggests that the campground is well-maintained, while the quiet atmosphere points to a potentially peaceful retreat. The access for fishing is a notable feature, indicating that Swan Lake is likely a draw for anglers.
The same reviewer also highlights the availability of "lots of big spaces to choose for your van or rv’s," making it suitable for those traveling in larger vehicles. They mention staying for a few nights because their partner enjoys fishing. Interestingly, they note the absence of a playground but suggest that there are "lots of things kids can do here," implying that the natural environment and lake access provide ample opportunities for children's activities.
However, another review from September 29, 2024, presents a contrasting experience regarding the campground host. This reviewer describes an encounter with a female host as "extremely rude." The situation arose when the reviewer and their group pulled into the first entrance, which is also the boat ramp area. They pulled over into a parking space, reportedly to avoid blocking a truck pulling a boat. The host allegedly "ran up to us yelling" and stated they couldn't park there as it was for trailer parking only, despite the absence of signage. The reviewer tried to explain their reason for parking briefly, but the host was reportedly unwilling to listen and demanded payment of $5 per car for their two vehicles.
The review further states that the group consisted of senior citizens with National Park Passes, suggesting they might have been eligible for discounted or free entry. The reviewer claims they were overcharged. When they suggested that the host could communicate more politely, the host allegedly replied, "I can talk any way I want to." Given that Swan Lake Campground is a US Forest Service park, the reviewer expressed hope that the "rude host" would receive respect training or be relieved of their duties.
Considering these two reviews, the environment of Swan Lake Campground is described as beautiful, clean, and quiet, with excellent access for fishing and spacious sites suitable for RVs. The natural setting of Swan Lake itself, with opportunities for lakeside activities, is likely a significant draw. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported negative interaction with a campground host, which raises concerns about customer service.
The features of Swan Lake Campground appear to include large campsites suitable for RVs, direct access to Swan Lake for fishing and other water-related activities, and a generally clean and quiet environment. While there is no playground, the natural surroundings are suggested to be engaging for children.
Information regarding specific services such as restrooms, water hookups, electrical hookups, dump stations, or fire pits is not provided in these reviews. As Swan Lake Campground is a US Forest Service park, it likely offers basic amenities, but the extent of these would need to be confirmed through other sources or by contacting the relevant authorities.
There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Therefore, local users searching for "camping near me" at Swan Lake Campground should weigh the positive aspects of its natural beauty and amenities against the reported negative experience with the host. It might be beneficial to seek more recent reviews or contact the US Forest Service for the Swan Lake area to get a broader perspective on the current conditions and management of the campground.
In conclusion, Swan Lake Campground in Montana offers a potentially beautiful and serene camping experience with opportunities for fishing and accommodating RVs. However, a recent negative encounter with a campground host has been reported, which prospective visitors should consider. For those searching for "camping near me" with lake access and spacious sites, Swan Lake Campground could be a good option, but it would be wise to gather more current information about the management and available services before planning a trip.

Swan Lake Campground Reviews
A beautiful place for camping, clean, quiet, and access for fishing. Lots of big spaces to choose for your van or rv’s. We stayed here for few nights as my partner loves fishing. No playground but lots of things kids can do here.
Jul 16, 2024 · PERSEVERANCIA ISLES9/29/2024 The female host was extremely rude. We pulled in to the first entrance which is also the boat ramp area, we pulled over into a parking space, just to not block the truck pulling a boat coming out of the lake. The host ran up to us yelling at us and saying we couldn’t park there, that it was trailer parking only, yet no signage, I tried to explain to her that we were just waiting for the truck to pull out of the ramp, she didn’t want to hear anything we had to say, demanding we pay $5 x2 for our 2 cars, she actually over charged us as we are all Senior Citizens and had National Park Passes. I mentioned to her that she could talk nicely to us, she said “I can talk any way I want to” This being a US Forest service park, I would hope this rude host get respect training or be let go.
Oct 05, 2024 · Joan ShannonA great campground. Spacious sites, no hookups of any kind. This is dry camping at it's zenith. This was the nicest, cleanest forest service campground I've ever seen. Lots of shade. We will be planning another trip and staying longer. No cell service, which was absolutely needed and warranted. I've attached a picture with a typical view from the day use area. Absolutely stunning.
Jul 18, 2022 · Tim KosenaGreat, well maintained campground. Right across the street from the Swan Lake day use area. Campsite was private and large, with ample parking and nice tent spots. Would definitely come back and stay for some more lake fun!
Jul 05, 2019 · Sara MichellDidn't stay long. Very beautiful. Water is crystal clear. Pay to park.
