TA-GA-SOKE Campgrounds Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Blossvale, NY area, TA-GA-SOKE Campgrounds, located at 7820 Higginsville Rd, Blossvale, NY 13308, USA, presents a camping and cabin rental option. With contact phone numbers (800) 831-1744 and +1 800-831-1744, this campground has received mixed but informative feedback from recent visitors, offering insights into its environment, services, and features for those considering it as a "campground near me."
One positive aspect highlighted in a customer review is the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. During a period of tornados that resulted in a power outage in their cabin, the reviewer noted that the staff went "above and beyond" to assist in any way possible. This suggests a dedicated and caring team that prioritizes guest comfort and safety, especially during unforeseen circumstances. The same reviewer also described the campground as "quiet and clean," which are significant factors for many campers seeking a peaceful and well-maintained environment.
Another stated advantage in a separate review is the campground's proximity to Sylvan Beach, being just a 7-minute drive away. Sylvan Beach is a popular destination known for its amusement park, beach, and recreational activities on Oneida Lake. This location could be appealing for campers looking to combine a camping experience with access to entertainment and lakeside fun. The availability of "cheap cabins" was also mentioned as a potential benefit for budget-conscious travelers seeking an alternative to tent camping.
However, the reviews also point out several cons that prospective campers should be aware of. One significant drawback mentioned is the pay-per-use shower system. Campers need to have change to operate the showers, and one reviewer expressed frustration that this was not communicated at check-in, leading to inconvenience during a late-night shower. Furthermore, there were issues reported with the functionality of the showers, with only 2 out of 4 being operational at the time of one reviewer's visit.
Another concern raised in the reviews pertains to the cleanliness and maintenance of certain facilities. One reviewer recounted an instance of housekeeping cleaning the bathroom while smoking, which could be off-putting for some guests. Additionally, the presence of "giant piles of sand" was noted. While children reportedly enjoyed playing in these sand piles, the reviewer described the sand as clay-like and prone to getting "every where," which could be a nuisance for campers trying to keep their belongings clean. The placement of these sand piles directly in front of camping areas might also make it challenging for parents to limit their children's interaction with them.
A more serious concern was raised regarding the condition of the wooden play structures, which were described as "falling apart." This suggests potential safety hazards for children using these facilities and indicates a need for maintenance or repair.
Considering the feedback, the environment at TA-GA-SOKE Campgrounds appears to be generally quiet and clean, offering a potentially peaceful camping experience. Its proximity to Sylvan Beach provides access to a broader range of recreational activities and entertainment options. The availability of budget-friendly cabins might appeal to those seeking a more comfortable stay than tent camping without a high cost.
However, the services and features have areas that may need improvement. The pay-per-use shower system, especially with limited functionality and lack of upfront communication, could be a significant inconvenience for campers. The cleanliness practices of housekeeping, as reported by one reviewer, may also be a concern for some. Furthermore, the condition of the play structures raises questions about safety and overall maintenance of the campground's amenities.
No specific promotional information was mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any discounts, special rates for cabin rentals, or seasonal offers would need to contact TA-GA-SOKE Campgrounds directly using the provided phone numbers. It would also be advisable to inquire about the current status of the showers and play structures before making a booking.
In conclusion, TA-GA-SOKE Campgrounds offers a location near Sylvan Beach and the option of budget-friendly cabins for those seeking "camping near me" in the Blossvale, NY area. The staff has been noted for their kindness and helpfulness, and the campground is generally described as quiet and clean. However, potential drawbacks such as the pay-per-use showers with reported functionality issues, concerns about housekeeping practices, and the condition of the play structures should be taken into consideration. For local users interested in this campground, it is recommended to call (800) 831-1744 or +1 800-831-1744 to inquire about the current status of amenities, pricing, and any available promotions to make an informed decision about their camping experience.

TA-GA-SOKE Campgrounds Reviews
We loved our stay here! There were tornados in the area so the second day we had no power in our cabin. The staff was so kind and went above and beyond to help in any way. It is quiet and clean! We loved it. Will definitely be back! Only thing I wish they had easier access to change since the showers require change to run, they didn't tell us that at check in so when we went for a late night shower we we were out of luck.
Jul 24, 2024 · Richard VenceI’ve been here twice and neither time impressed. First time was 5 years ago, gave it another go to see if things got better. Nope.Pros : 7 mins from sylvan, cheap cabins, our area was decently quietCons: you have to pay for your shower and only 2 out of 4 work, the one time I went to use the bathroom housekeeping was doing cleaning it while smoking, theirs giant piles of sand for your kid to get filthy in all weekend.. which they enjoyed, but it’s like clay sand and gets every where, but you’re camping right in front of it so can’t keep telling them no, their wooden play structures were falling apart
Jul 30, 2024 · kristina stantonIt's quiet 🤫 during the week, so peaceful. I've been there a few times and I love it..weekends noisy but we're all there to unwind in our own ways 🎶 drinking ,partying. Not my thing ,I go to just relax and enjoy the peace ,watch the fire under a sky full of stars.
Jul 12, 2024 · Joanna gruttadauriaWe were there for one night. Never again. We're all for partying and having fun but the amount of times I heard the word F&@k was ridiculous. So many kids running around and no one cared about language . Loud and obnoxious. We've camped all over the country and have never seen such a lack of respect and class. Campers are one on top of another. AND we paid for a water electric site with only one water spigot on pole being used by neighbors.
Jul 21, 2024 · Nancy JacobsCamped here for Father's Day weekend 2024. All in all a nice quiet weekend with a beautiful site on Fish Creek near the boat launch. My concerns are as follows.1. Website needs updating as the "Birds Nest" is advertised as open every weekend to the public for Fri and Sat eve dinners. It is NOT. Only open if campers or outside sources contract with the campground to offer services. Was not open all 4 nights we were there.2. Advertised free WiFi. It is not free. Must pay for use. Same for cable.3. Was told that scooters, motorized bikes, go carts. etc are not allowed. As I am mobility impaired along with my 77 year old mother, this was very disappointing. I was able to use for our stay because of presenting my handicap card from my car but like I said, generally not allowed. This is a big issue for me. Unless allowed. I will probably not go back.On the good side, park seemed quiet and we even fed some ducks. Weather was very nice as well and staff was very friendly
