Tall Pines Campground Introduce
Are you a local resident of Branson, Missouri, or the surrounding areas searching for "camping near me"? Tall Pines Campground, located at 5558 State Hwy 265, Branson, MO 65616, USA, can be reached at (417) 338-2445 or +1 417-338-2445. While past experiences at Tall Pines Campground may have been positive, recent customer reviews indicate a need for local users to be aware of potential issues regarding the campground's maintenance, pet policy, and reservation system. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the latest available feedback to help local campers make an informed decision.
Tall Pines Campground is situated on State Highway 265 in Branson, Missouri. This location offers proximity to the numerous entertainment options, attractions, and natural beauty that Branson is famous for. Being on a state highway suggests relatively easy access for various types of camping vehicles, including RVs and trailers. The surrounding environment is likely characterized by the scenic Ozark Mountains, with potentially wooded areas providing shade and a natural camping ambiance. However, one recent review noted being placed on a site next to a busy road despite the campground being nearly empty, suggesting that the noise level at certain sites might be a concern.
The general area of Branson offers a wide range of activities, from live shows and theme parks to outdoor adventures on Table Rock Lake and in the surrounding forests. The convenience of Tall Pines Campground's location on Highway 265 could be a significant draw for local users wanting to be close to these attractions. However, it's advisable to inquire about the specific location of campsites within the campground to avoid potential noise issues from the highway.
Customer reviews present a mixed picture regarding the services and maintenance at Tall Pines Campground. On a positive note, one recent reviewer in June acknowledged that "the bathrooms are in grand shape; that's true." This indicates that at least some of the facilities are well-maintained and clean, which is an important factor for any camper.
However, other aspects of the campground's upkeep have received criticism. Several reviewers mentioned that "the roads are in bad shape." This could pose challenges for navigating the campground, especially for larger RVs or trailers. Additionally, one review noted "mounds of dead leaves piled in" the campsites and "dead trees needing removal," suggesting that general site maintenance might be lacking in some areas. These issues could impact the overall camping experience and the usability of individual sites.
The availability and responsiveness of the campground staff also appear to be areas of concern. One reviewer recounted a troubling experience with the owners/staff and their large dog, which barked at and ran after them without any intervention from the owners. This raises questions about pet control and the safety and comfort of guests within the campground. Furthermore, the same reviewer reported significant difficulties in contacting the campground to make reservations, citing an unanswered phone with a voicemail box that had not been set up. This lack of accessibility for potential customers is a serious concern for local users trying to book a stay.
Another point of contention mentioned in the reviews is the reservation process, with one reviewer hesitating to book online due to concerns raised by others and questioning an "extra fee to lock in the reservation." This suggests a potentially unclear or inconvenient reservation system where a basic reservation might not be guaranteed without an additional charge. Local users should clarify the reservation policy and any associated fees before booking.
Based on the limited information in the reviews, the features of Tall Pines Campground that have been specifically mentioned by campers include:
- Clean Bathrooms: At least one recent reviewer praised the condition of the bathroom facilities.
- Road Conditions (Negative): Several reviewers noted that the roads within the campground are in poor condition.
- Site Maintenance (Negative): Issues were raised regarding dead leaves on sites and the need for dead tree removal.
- Pet Policy Concerns: An incident involving a large, uncontrolled dog owned by the staff/owners was reported, raising safety concerns for guests.
- Reservation Issues: Difficulty in contacting the campground by phone and concerns about the reservation process and potential extra fees were mentioned.
- Potential for Quiet Sites (Contradictory): While one reviewer noted a previously "beautiful and quiet" back side, another was placed by a busy road despite the campground being nearly empty.
It's important to note that amenities typically expected at a campground, such as hookups for RVs (electric, water, sewer), laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, or recreational areas like a pool or playground, were not mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users should inquire about these if they are important for their camping needs.
For local residents of Branson and the surrounding areas looking for "camping near me," Tall Pines Campground presents a location on Highway 265 that offers convenient access to the area's attractions. The positive feedback regarding the cleanliness of the bathrooms is a plus. However, the negative comments concerning road conditions, site maintenance, the handling of pets, and the reservation process are significant factors that local users should carefully consider.
If you are considering Tall Pines Campground for your next local camping trip, it would be prudent to:
- Inquire about campsite location: Specifically request a site away from the busy road if noise is a concern.
- Ask about road conditions: Determine if the internal roads are suitable for your camping vehicle.
- Clarify the pet policy: If you are traveling with pets, ensure that the campground has clear and enforced rules regarding pet behavior and safety.
- Verify the reservation process and fees: Understand if there are any extra charges to guarantee your reservation.
- Attempt to contact the campground directly: Use the provided phone numbers to speak with someone about availability and to address any concerns raised in the reviews. Be persistent if you encounter issues with the voicemail.
Given the mixed and somewhat concerning recent feedback, local users might want to weigh the convenience of the location against the potential drawbacks in maintenance and customer service before making a reservation at Tall Pines Campground.
The provided information and customer reviews do not mention any specific promotional offers for Tall Pines Campground. Local users should inquire directly when contacting the campground to see if any discounts or special rates are available for residents or during certain times of the year.
In conclusion, while Tall Pines Campground benefits from its location on Highway 265 in Branson, recent reviews highlight several areas of concern that local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of. The cleanliness of the bathrooms is a positive aspect, but issues related to road and site maintenance, pet control, and the reservation system raise valid questions about the overall quality and management of the campground. It is strongly recommended that local campers contact Tall Pines Campground directly to seek clarification on these issues before making a booking to ensure a satisfactory camping experience.

Tall Pines Campground Reviews
We stayed at Tall Pines in June. The bathrooms are in grand shape; that's true. However, there is much more to be done in order to maintain what had been a great campground. As mentioned already by several reviewers, the roads are in bad shape. The sites we stayed in had mounds of dead leaves piled in them. There were dead trees needing removal. When my sister and I walked around the campground one morning, the owners/staff were sitting on the front porch of the office with their large dog, who barked at us as we came around near the building. The dog ran off the porch, barking at us and running after us. We looked at the people on the porch, thinking they would control the dog. They didn't. We stopped and waited to see what would happen. The dog came close, checked us out and allowed us to move on. We were totally stunned at the lack of concern for our safety and the fear imposed by the dog. I'm glad we didn't have our dogs with us.In spite of that, we tried to reserve a couple of sites for next week as there is nothing available anywhere else. My brother-in-law and I have both tried to call. I've tried multiple times. No one answers. There's just a message stating that the voicemail box has not been set up! Is this not a business? Would you not want to be accessible to potential customers? Based on reviews stating concerns about reservations, I hesitate to make reservations online, and what's this business about an extra fee to lock in the reservation? So unless you pay more money, your "reservation" may not really be a reservation?I hope the campground changes hands again to some responsible owners who can make this the jewel it once was. We're really disappointed.
Oct 04, 2024 · Kelli AkersSent emails to check in. Rv Park. Slow time of year. I'm OK with that. But park was almost empty and they put us right next to a busy road. We have always stayed on down the back side, beautiful and quiet. Why if almost empty put us up by the busy loud road?
Apr 03, 2025 · Roger WilsonVery nice campground. Shower house and bathrooms are very clean. They have a laundry room on site which is helpful when camping with kids. Playground equipment needs some attention and roads can be a bit rough but it is very peaceful and beautiful. Worth the drive for the quiet and it's close to Silver Dollar City.
Sep 02, 2024 · Cassandra ReevesSomeone was supposed to meet us but the office was empty even though it was before 5pm. We spent almost 20 minutes trying to find the campsite, because they also didn't leave a map which they said they would, which was impossible to use because it was basically all gravel and rocks. There was also a large broken tree branch on our site. We had to leave and get a hotel, which ruined the "camping trip". The man we spoke with on the phone, Rusty, was the only decent part of this experience.
Oct 05, 2024 · Emily FordThis owner is a bully!! I camped there last week and reserved a spot. We drove in to find out they gave us a different spot. I spoke to the owner and she said it's because I didn't pay the ten dollar lock in fee. There was no reason why I couldn't have gotten the spot I reserved. The entire time I was camping, no one was in the spot I wanted. They bully you into paying this fee.I could understand if somebody beat me to the spot and wanted it and I didn't pay the lock in fee, but this was not the case. They did it just to be jerks. I would highly recommend not to go to this place. The pool was nasty. Roads were bad. Owner's dog jumped on my truck. They claim to have a strict leash laws, unless you're the owner, and then your dogs can run freely. I yelled at the worker for the dog jumping on my truck. He said, what am I supposed to do about it?It's the owner's dog.Again, if you like a bully, this is your spot.
