The Outpost Outdoor Resort Introduce
For our users in US who are searching for "camping near me" and seeking diverse outdoor experiences, let us introduce you to The Outpost Outdoor Resort, located at 2333 NY-97, Pond Eddy, New York, USA. This campground offers a unique appeal with its riverfront location and a reputation for a relaxed atmosphere. By examining recent customer feedback, we can provide a balanced overview of what this resort has to offer, helping you understand if this style of camping aligns with your preferences for a nature-based getaway.
The Outpost Outdoor Resort is situated in a location that many campers find appealing, with direct access to a river. The allure of riverfront campsites is a significant draw, as it provides opportunities for scenic views, the soothing sounds of flowing water, and potentially water-based activities. One reviewer specifically mentioned the "great location" and the benefit of being "riverfront," highlighting this as a major positive aspect of the resort.
Based on customer experiences, the staff and owners at The Outpost Outdoor Resort are generally perceived as friendly and helpful. One visitor recounted a positive experience where, despite a reservation miscommunication, they were accommodated in a spacious location that they thoroughly enjoyed. This suggests a willingness on the part of the management to resolve issues and ensure guests have a pleasant stay. The reviewer, who was trying a new campground due to the temporary closure of their usual site, expressed their satisfaction and an intention to return, indicating a positive overall impression.
In terms of amenities, the availability of hot water showers is noted as a significant positive by at least one reviewer, who described it as an "A+" feature. This is an important comfort for many campers, especially during cooler weather or after a day of outdoor activities. However, opinions diverge regarding the cleanliness of the bathrooms. While the staff is mentioned as trying their best to maintain them, one reviewer felt that the cleanliness was lacking, particularly concerning given the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. This camper reported the bathrooms being "disgusting" for an extended period before cleaning and suggested more frequent cleaning protocols for shared facilities.
Another aspect mentioned in the reviews is the relaxed nature of the campground rules. For some, this might be a positive attribute, contributing to a more laid-back and less restrictive camping experience. However, it's important to note that relaxed rules can sometimes correlate with varying levels of site maintenance or noise levels, depending on the overall environment and the consideration of fellow campers.
One significant concern raised by a long-time visitor was the issue of overpriced firewood. This is a practical consideration for campers who plan to have campfires for cooking or ambiance, as high firewood costs can add to the overall expense of the trip. This reviewer, despite appreciating the river and the location, indicated that their recent experience would be their last, primarily citing the dirty bathrooms and the exorbitant firewood prices as major drawbacks.
The contrasting opinions in the reviews highlight the importance of considering individual priorities when choosing a campground. For those who highly value a riverfront location and a relaxed atmosphere, and who may be less sensitive to potential cleanliness issues in shared facilities or higher prices for certain amenities, The Outpost Outdoor Resort might still be an attractive option. However, for campers who prioritize cleanliness, especially in communal areas like bathrooms, and are mindful of the cost of essential supplies like firewood, this resort might present some concerns.
It's important to note that the reviews provided are from a specific point in time, and conditions at the campground may have changed since these experiences were shared. Factors such as staffing, management focus, and seasonal variations can all impact the overall quality and cleanliness of a campground.
For our users in US exploring "camping near me" and considering what makes a good camping destination, the feedback on The Outpost Outdoor Resort offers valuable insights into the potential trade-offs between location, atmosphere, and amenities. While the allure of a riverfront site and a relaxed environment can be strong, it's crucial to also consider the importance of cleanliness and the cost of essential supplies to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

The Outpost Outdoor Resort Reviews
My friends and I definitely had a blast over the weekend. The staff & owners were very friendly and helpful. Even though there was a miscommunication on our reservation, but I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason because the location we were put in was spacious and we loved it. We normally camp at another site for years, but unfortunately this year with covid they decided not to open this year. So decide to try a different one. We were skeptical about coming to Jerry's because of the reviews, but I'm glad that we decided to chance and I tell I can't wait to come back next year.Bathrooms: they have hot water showers which is A+ in my book. Has far as the cleaness of the bathrooms they do try their best keep it up with ,but I feel if people where clean and had considerations that it's a shared bathroom then it would be easier for the staff to maintain a cleaner bathroom .
Aug 10, 2020 · jon AlvarezI’ve been to Jerry’s many times over the last 10 years but this was the last time unfortunately. The two stars are for the river :)Pros: great location, relaxed rules, and riverfront.Cons: dirty bathrooms, extremely overpriced firewood.Camping isn’t supposed to be all nice and clean but they should still maintain their bathrooms. Specially in this COVID19 times. The bathrooms were disgusting for 16+ hours before someone cleaned it. Given the current health crisis, they should clean the bathrooms multiple times during the day.
Jul 27, 2020 · ZawadDispite the bad reviews, my family booked our weekend here. We had a very big group. The workers gave us a very large site (on brookside) with more than enough room for all of us and our tents. No water or electric hook ups. (Which we wish we knew before we came) but made the most of it. The bathrooms aren't the cleanest... but the staff is in multiple times a day cleaning! You're camping in the woods! You will get dirt on your feet and track mud around. Fyi no service for t-mobile.
Aug 15, 2021 · Catherine MathewsHonestly, booking was very easy and Gloria was very pleasant. The views make it worth the trip however there was a very large group of people with complete and total disregard for other campers. Blasting music and using some kind of microphone/sound effects from morning til the next morning. All night long. The owners claim to have rules and regulations but nothing was done to stop the rude &$$holes who ruined it for so many people. Not to mention fireworks going off all day and night. this could be such a nice place but the owners need to follow through the rules put in place. We had to buy firewood (not a huge deal) because they claim you can’t bring your own yet they allow fireworks???? Will find a better place in the future.
