With opportunities for swimming, easy access to rafting outfitters, nearby conveniences, and even scenic UTV tours for wildlife viewing, The River Life promises a memorable and adventurous outdoor escape close to home.
The environment at The River Life is a major highlight, as suggested by the campground's name. Situated directly by a river, campers can enjoy the soothing sounds of flowing water and the picturesque views of the surrounding natural landscape. According to customer reviews, the river offers both calm areas perfect for relaxing and swimming, as well as exciting rapids for those seeking a bit more adventure. This dual nature of the waterway caters to a variety of preferences, making it an ideal spot for families and individuals alike. The proximity to water also creates a refreshing and enjoyable atmosphere, especially during the warmer months. While one reviewer noted that some brush clearing and bush hogging could be beneficial, the overall natural beauty of the riverside location clearly leaves a positive impression.
While specific details about the services and features of The River Life might be best obtained through direct contact, the available information and customer reviews provide valuable insights. The mention of "dry camping at campsite 1" suggests that at least some campsites may offer a more rustic experience without direct hookups like water, electricity, and sewer. This caters to campers who are self-sufficient and prefer a more traditional camping style. However, the positive experience of the reviewer in a Class A motorhome indicates that the campground can accommodate larger vehicles, although it's always wise to confirm site suitability when booking.
One of the standout features highlighted in the reviews is the exceptional hospitality of the host, Kelly. She is described as "amazing" and goes above and beyond to enhance the guest experience. This personal touch can significantly elevate a camping trip, making visitors feel welcome and well-cared for. Kelly's initiative in informing guests about local attractions, such as the scenic UTV tours, demonstrates a commitment to providing a well-rounded and engaging experience beyond just the campsite itself.
The location of The River Life offers a convenient blend of natural immersion and accessibility to amenities. One reviewer noted that stores are just a couple of miles away, making it easy to stock up on supplies or grab necessities. This proximity to civilization ensures that campers can enjoy the feeling of being away from it all without being completely isolated. Furthermore, for those interested in white-water rafting, all the rafting outfitters are conveniently located about 10 minutes further up the mountain from the campground. This makes The River Life an excellent basecamp for adventure seekers looking to experience the thrill of river rafting.
A particularly exciting feature offered by the host, Kelly, is the scenic UTV tours. As mentioned by a satisfied camper, these tours provide an opportunity to explore the surrounding areas and potentially view local wildlife such as elk and bear. The "Cataloochee elk watching tour" was described as the "best money ever spent," highlighting the memorable experience and the chance to see these magnificent animals in their natural habitat, along with "fabulous views of the mountains." This unique offering adds significant value to a stay at The River Life, providing an adventurous and educational activity for guests of all ages.

The River Life Reviews
Could use a little brush clearing and bush hogging but overall this is the best campsite we have found this year. Rapids and calm water are both right there for playing and swimming. Stores are just a couple miles away. All the rafting outfitters are about 10 minutes further up the mountain.
Aug 07, 2024 · Jason JenkinsSpent 3 nights dry camping at campsite 1 in our class A motor home. It was wonderful. So relaxing camping by the river. While we were there Kelly, the host, who was amazing, told us about the scenic utv tours that she’s offering. So we went on the cataloochee elk watching tour. Best money ever spent!! We saw elk and bear and fabulous views of the mountains.
