This natural feature adds to the appeal of the location for those seeking a riverside camping experience.
For those with RVs, the review doesn't mention any specific issues, implying that the RV camping facilities might be in better condition or located in a different area of the park. If you are an RV owner looking for a campground in the Franklin, WV area, Thorn Spring Park could still be a viable option. It would be prudent to call ahead to inquire about RV site availability and any specific amenities offered for RV campers, such as hookups for water, electricity, and sewer.

Thorn Spring Park Reviews
We camped here over the weekend for the first time. Unfortunately the ice storm over the winter did a number on all of the hemlocks in the tent camping area and most of the trees have been removed. It is a mess there right now and many of the tent sites aren't really usable at the moment, it's going to be a muddy mess if we get much rain here any time soon. The owner is super nice and very helpful, he wasn't too thrilled with what the 4-H board had done with the storm clean up. Bathrooms where quite clean. The location was nice, and the river next to the campground would be great during warmer weather.Once things get situated with the tent sites, we will stay here again. The main reason for the review is to let people know that if they look through the older pics of nice wooded tent sites, that they should not expect that any longer.
Mar 30, 2025 · BryanAwesome experience. Jeff the property manager was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout the 4 days we were here. The prices are super reasonable. Added bonus for our stay was a Motorcycle/ATV event which gave us a free DJ and free Band Friday and Saturday night. Super friendly people and well maintained property made my first time camping in my life a huge success. Mountains, Motorcycles, Camping, Caving and Rock Climbing. What a weekend!!
Jun 17, 2023 · Michael SpragueThis place is great! We stayed here for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday with some of our friends. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the conditions were very comfortable. We had most of the park to ourselves, and the area is very quiet with very few neighbors nearby. And the price can't be beat! We will definitely be staying here again the next time we want a nice vacation in this part of West Virginia.
Jul 20, 2022 · Eric C. MaxwellSuper great campground and very affordable. Three of us found this little gem while riding the MABDR on our motorcycles. Definitely will come back. Jeff, who owns the place is super nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend stopping in.
May 24, 2023 · G GJeff was great, cabin 1 was my favorite out of 1,4,7. Weekends were busy but the weekdays were super chill. Nice camping spots for tents as well.
