Environment and Atmosphere:
Many visitors appreciate the general environment of Thousand Trails Peace River. One reviewer mentioned loving the campground overall, highlighting the great trails available for walking and biking. The spaciousness of the campground is also a plus, with reports of it not feeling crowded even during peak season. The presence of friendly and welcoming residents contributes to a positive community atmosphere within the park. For those who enjoy bringing their furry companions, it’s noted that there are a lot of dogs on-site, indicating a pet-friendly environment.
Services and Amenities:
Thousand Trails Peace River offers a range of amenities typical of campgrounds, though recent reviews point out some areas needing attention:
- Bath Houses: Several reviews have raised concerns regarding the cleanliness of the bath houses, with one camper leaving early due to this issue. Another mentioned that while initially clean, they were not serviced over a weekend, leading to unsanitary conditions. A more recent update suggests that new management is aware of this, with cleaning occurring on a Monday morning after a problematic weekend. It seems the frequency and consistency of bath house cleaning might be a point to consider.
- Pool: One review indicated that the pool was closed over a particular weekend, which might be a factor for those looking to swim during their stay. It's advisable to check the status of the pool when making reservations, especially if this is a key amenity for you.
- Pet Amenities: While the campground is dog-friendly with "plenty of poop stations," a significant concern raised is the lack of provided poop bags. Reviewers noted that the dispensers were not being refilled and were eventually removed, requiring pet owners to bring their own. Additionally, there is no designated dog park on the premises, which might be something to consider if you travel with dogs that enjoy off-leash areas.
- Trails: A definite highlight mentioned by a reviewer is the presence of great trails suitable for walking and biking, offering opportunities to explore the natural surroundings of the campground.
Features and Highlights:
Based on the available feedback, the standout features of Thousand Trails Peace River appear to be its spaciousness, the network of walking and biking trails, and the welcoming nature of the long-term residents. The pet-friendly aspect is also notable, although the lack of provided poop bags and a dog park are points to be aware of. The recent change in management might signal potential improvements in areas that have received negative feedback, such as the cleanliness of the bath houses.

Thousand Trails Peace River Reviews
Great place as long as you don't need the bath houses came to stay 14 days but leaving early due to lack of cleaning in the bath houses.Started my stay on Friday at noon and bath houses where clean but no one all weekend long cleaned them by Saturday night they where starting to look bad a mess in one of the shower that was there Saturday morning was still there Sunday evening only difference instead of cleaning it up they put a wet floor caution sign in front of what looked to be puke I'm very disappointed in this place and I have a thousand trails membership and it's free for me to stay and I won't be back and it's sad it was a nice campground other than the bathhouse mess oh and pool was closed all weekendMonday morning update bath houses where being cleaned the worker said the new managers where trying to save on staffing and they decided bath houses could be left over a full weekend without cleaning sad to say that's impossible in a campground speaking from years of experience as a regional manager for campgrounds this is not the way to go cleaning staff should clean and freshen every bath house 3 times a day what was the manager thinking bad idea .....
Mar 31, 2025 · don kellyWell, the management has switched over recently. Not sure about the staff yet.I do love the campground in general. I have stayed here twice now. The trails are great! There are lots of walking and biking riding options in this camp. Plenty of room, so not crowded even at high season. The residents are kind and welcoming. There are a lot of dogs, and plenty of poop stations. My main complaint is that they REFUSE to fill up the poop bag stations with bags. I asked a few times and even did a price search. It is only $43.00 for 2,000 bags. Instead of filling up the stations with bags, they have now removed the poop bag dispensers. WE MUST PROVIDE OUR OWN POOP BAGS???? So a trip to the dollar store? I have NEVER seen a park NOT provide bags! Very disappointed. :(. and there is no Dog Park...
Dec 26, 2024 · Tina FieldsThese very abrasive, sarcastic front desk jockeys have me wanting to literally jump over the counter at them. I recommend another park if you don't want your guests to talked to in a condescending manner. They think they're funny, but they're just arrogant jerks. I was truly treated like a 5 year old from a man-child. Not okay.
Mar 23, 2025 · Anthony GoodholmStaff was nice, guests/residents were nice, amenities were nice, but I felt like I was at a convention for dogs with anxiety disorders. Excessive amount of barking throughout every day I was there. I've never been to a campsite that had this many noisy dogs and dog owners who were oblivious to the needs of their pets or other guests.
Nov 24, 2024 · Bill BleichThousand Trails members rejoice! LOTS of places, even in FL peak season. Most of the power in the lower flood zone sections are now 50 amp. For the sites that don't have sewer, the park offers a 1 x weekly visit from the honey wagon. You have to go to the office to schedule it and then they come the next day. Keep an eye on your tank levels, because the office isn't open on Sundays. Having the gate wide open on Sunday is only slightly concerning, but you still might want to keep anything valuable enough inside your rig at night.
