Timberfell Resort Introduce
For local users in and around Greeneville, Tennessee, who are searching for "camping near me," Timberfell Resort, located at 2240 Van Hill Rd, presents itself as an option. However, it is crucial for potential visitors to be aware of significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews before considering a stay at this establishment. These reviews highlight issues related to pricing, booking policies, management practices, and cleanliness, which may impact the overall camping experience.
The environment of Timberfell Resort is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, but one reviewer mentions that "It's in the middle of nowhere," which could imply a secluded and potentially rural setting in the Greeneville, Tennessee area. Greeneville is located in Greene County, which features a mix of rolling hills and agricultural landscapes, with proximity to the Cherokee National Forest. Therefore, the resort might offer a natural and private environment. However, the remoteness mentioned could also be a factor to consider regarding accessibility to local amenities and attractions outside the resort.
The services and features of Timberfell Resort, as inferred from the reviews, appear to include basic room accommodations, RV spots (though not explicitly stated, the context of "camping near me" suggests this possibility), and potentially other amenities associated with a resort. However, the reviews raise serious concerns about the quality of these services. One potential visitor noted a mandatory membership fee of $20 in addition to a $105 per night charge for a "basic room," which was perceived as "ridiculous" in terms of pricing. Furthermore, this individual highlighted restrictive booking rules, including a mandatory two-day stay for weekends and a three-day minimum stay required due to ongoing events, which they felt indicated "greed." Another reviewer, seemingly a former employee or someone with inside knowledge, alleges a refusal by the manager to order essential supplies like toilet paper and paper towels, describing the situation as "pathetic." This review also claims incompetence on the part of the owner regarding cleaning staff management and accuses the owner of blaming the manager for the owner's mistakes. The rapid turnover of management, with a previous manager allegedly leaving after only three months, further suggests potential instability in the resort's operations.
Several critical features are mentioned negatively in the reviews. The issue of cleanliness is a major concern, with one reviewer referencing another review that "literally shows there was human waste on the bed." The owner's response to this serious allegation, merely stating that they have a 98% health department score, was deemed inadequate and indicative of a lack of concern for hygiene. The reviewer questioned the validity of such a high score under these circumstances. The alleged lack of essential supplies like toilet paper, if accurate, represents a significant failure in basic service provision for any accommodation, including a campground or resort. The restrictive booking policies, particularly the mandatory three-day stay during events, could be seen as inflexible and inconvenient for potential guests, especially locals seeking a short weekend getaway.
There is no mention of any positive promotional information in the provided reviews. Instead, the feedback is overwhelmingly negative, focusing on high costs, restrictive rules, poor management, and serious cleanliness issues. The strong recommendations from one reviewer to "not be visiting" and another to "Go to rivers edge in GA" serve as negative promotion, advising potential customers to avoid Timberfell Resort altogether based on their experiences or observations.
The repeated mentions of management issues, including the alleged refusal to order basic supplies and the high turnover of managers, paint a concerning picture of the operational stability of Timberfell Resort. These issues could directly impact the quality of the camping or lodging experience for local users. The discrepancy between the alleged cleanliness issues (human waste on a bed) and the reported health department score raises serious questions about the reliability of the latter as an indicator of actual hygiene standards at the resort. The high prices and restrictive booking policies, especially the mandatory three-day stay linked to frequent events, could deter local users looking for flexible and affordable "camping near me" options.
In conclusion, while Timberfell Resort in Greeneville, TN, is located in a potentially scenic area and may offer basic accommodations and RV facilities, recent customer reviews raise significant red flags regarding its pricing, booking policies, management, and cleanliness. Local users searching for "camping near me" should carefully consider these serious concerns before making a reservation. The alleged high costs, inflexible booking rules, reported mismanagement, and alarming claims about hygiene, including the presence of human waste in a room, suggest a potentially negative experience. The lack of positive feedback or promotional information further underscores the need for extreme caution. Potential visitors are strongly advised to seek more up-to-date information from other sources or consider alternative camping options in the Greeneville area that have more positive and reliable reviews.

Timberfell Resort Reviews
I was considering going here but the prices are ridiculous 20 to be a member on top of 105 a night for a basic room and there are just too many rules about booking rooms, for a weekend 2 days is mandatory which isn’t so bad but requiring a 3 day stay just because an event is going on is awful excuse to require that considering events are going on all the time so 3 days no matter what is pretty much what is required, all of this just screams greed to me I will not be visiting. Edit: seeing the other reviews and managements responses confirms not coming here is a smart move especially after noting a review that literally shows there was human waste on the bed and the owner’s only response was to says they have. 98% score by the health department if that is worthy of a 98 the health department person should be fired. What a disappointment I’ve been excited about coming here for years.
Mar 23, 2025 · DustyTheBeastTamerIt's in the middle of nowhere, the manager refuses to order toilet paper or papertowels!!!! Pathetic... The owner is so incompetent that he can't keep a cleaning staff.. then asks for help fixing his mistakes and passes them off as the managers negligence... the previous manager stayed for a whopping 3 months before blatently walking out... in short a catastrophe... Go to rivers edge in GASo micheal blain refuses to acknowledges that the campground still after three weeks doesn't have toilet paper even though the board is upset over thatAt this point it's just funny...
Mar 22, 2025 · Kevin JohnsonEDIT: in retaliation for my one star review, the owners of Timberfell have arbitrarily decided that “[I] was let go for violating Terms and Conditions during [my] stay” and then fraudulently charged me an additional $250 for “smoking in the room”0/10 got robbed, don’t come herei was staying at timberfell recently for the holidays and someone entered my cabin twice while i was gone during the day.the second time they entered the cabin, they stole some of my possessions, and the owners have since ghosted me after i explained the situation and asked for a refund since i packed up and left after realizing i’d been robbed.
Jan 09, 2025 · Topher MarshallHad a wonderful time. Thank you all for being welcoming and making us feel like part of the group. We had a lot of fun hanging out by the pool as well as going to the tavern for the dance parties. We also enjoyed the potluck dinner as well as using the steam room and also the sauna. We hope to visit again very soon thank you once again.
