Tranter's Creek Resort Introduce
If you're searching for "camping near me" in the Washington, North Carolina area, Tranter's Creek Resort, located at 6573 Clarks Neck Rd, Washington, NC 27889, USA, presents itself as a potential option. You can contact them at (252) 948-0850 or their mobile number +1 252-948-0850 for more information. As part of your exploration within the "camping near me" category, it's important to consider all aspects of a campground, including its environment, services, and features, which can be gleaned from various sources, including customer reviews.
The Environment: Potential for a Relaxing Setting
The name "Tranter's Creek Resort" suggests a location that may be situated along or near Tranter's Creek, which could offer a waterfront environment. This type of setting often provides opportunities for water-related activities and a generally tranquil atmosphere. Washington, NC, is located in the eastern part of the state, near the Pamlico River, indicating a coastal plain environment that could feature flat terrain, waterways, and potentially marshy or wooded areas. Campers looking for "camping near me" with access to water for fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the views might find this appealing. However, specific details about the immediate natural surroundings of the resort itself would require further investigation through online maps or other resources.
One positive review mentions "absolutely the best campsite" and implies a pleasant environment. Conversely, another review, while negative overall, doesn't explicitly detail the natural environment. Therefore, while the name suggests a creek-side location with potential for a relaxing natural setting, it's advisable to seek additional information to form a complete picture of the environment at Tranter's Creek Resort.
Services and Amenities: Mixed Feedback
The provided customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the services and amenities at Tranter's Creek Resort. One reviewer praised the staff as "amazingly wonderful" and "very helpful," suggesting a positive service experience. This reviewer also indicated that for the price, the value received was excellent.
However, the other review paints a significantly different picture. This reviewer reported issues with bed bugs in cabin #2 and alleged that the staff did not address the problem adequately. They also claimed that the cabins were not properly cleaned between renters. Additionally, this reviewer mentioned being unfairly accused by staff regarding campground rules. These contrasting experiences highlight the importance of seeking a broader range of reviews or contacting the resort directly to understand the current state of their services and amenities.
Based solely on these two reviews, it's challenging to provide a definitive list of services and amenities. Typically, campgrounds offer a range of facilities, which could include:
- Campsites for RVs and/or tents
- Cabin rentals
- Restroom and shower facilities
- Laundry facilities
- Potable water access
- Electrical hookups (for RV sites)
- Recreational areas (e.g., fishing docks, picnic areas)
To get an accurate understanding of what Tranter's Creek Resort offers, it would be prudent to check online camping platforms or the resort's own website (if available) for a comprehensive list of amenities and services. The conflicting customer feedback suggests that the quality and consistency of these services might be variable.
Features of Tranter's Creek Resort: Potential Waterfront Location and Varying Perceptions
A potential key feature of Tranter's Creek Resort, based on its name, could be its location along Tranter's Creek, offering potential waterfront access or views. This would be a significant draw for those looking for "camping near me" with water-related activities. The positive review also suggests that the price-to-value ratio is a notable feature for some guests.
However, the negative review raises serious concerns about the cleanliness of the cabins (specifically mentioning bed bugs and lack of cleaning) and the responsiveness of the staff to these issues. The accusation of unfair treatment by staff is also a significant point to consider. Therefore, while the potential waterfront location and perceived value by one reviewer could be seen as features, the issues raised in the other review present significant drawbacks.
When considering Tranter's Creek Resort as a "camping near me" option, it's essential to weigh these contrasting perspectives. The experience appears to vary significantly for different guests, with some finding it to be a "best campsite" while others strongly recommend against it.

Tranter's Creek Resort Reviews
I do not recommend this place to outsiders such as campers, travel nurses and do not recommend staying in their cabins! I stayed in the cabin, #2 to be exact. The whole time we stayed there, my boyfriend was ate up with bed bugs. When we realized it, we decided to leave because the staff would not do nothing about it and did not seem to care. Also, the cabins seem to be for the residents family when they come to visit. They do not clean them after each stay from renters. So with that being said, if anything inside of the camp ground gets stolen or something gets damaged the staff will come to you and point fingers no matter what time of night or day it is. We were accused of washing our dogs in the wash house which I never used, PERIOD.I've never stayed at a place such as this and will never stay there again. They also kept our money for the last week we would have been there. Guess they needed that to clean and get rid of the bedbugs!Sorry sorry sorry campground.
Jul 23, 2024 · Kelly JonesThis is absolutely the best campsite. For the price you pay and what you get you can't do better than tranter's Creek resort. The people are friendly, the staff is amazingly wonderful. They are very helpful. I can't recommend it enough.
Sep 13, 2024 · Miracle YorkiesPeaceful, pleasant, nature getaway spot that's very inexpensive. Enjoyed the little cabins several summers with a family of 6! Nice to be able to dip in the pool, play games in the arcade, go fishing off the dock or put your john boat in. Favorite time is always night time, making a fire, making s'mores with the kids, sitting around talking with the sounds of summer in the background...crickets, owls, and kids playing tag or hide n seek. Actually being kids and having fun outdoors. We always made our trips device free, and there's no TV in the cabin either. Feels like a vacation like the vacations us parents had as kids. Very refreshing. The cabins have screened in porches of nice size and a couple rocking chairs out. They're small but just big enough. Will definitely bring a family closer lol. It has a bunk bed, small shower, toilet, sink and counter top area, with a coffee maker, and best of all a freezing cold ac unit. It's a great place for young families in the Greenville area who just need a little get away. We know we aren't far from home, but the kids think they're on a full out vacation. Easily able to invite some family or friends that can pitch a tent right outside the cabin which is also right along the river. When our kids were smaller, they thought this was the best. Made lots of sweet, cherished memories. Its definitely good for keeping your family close. Even good for new parents who need a break and some time together just to get a breather. And home is just a hop and a skip away.
Jun 15, 2024 · Ash W.Though I thought the cabin I stayed in could have been a little bit cleaner, and fresher smelling. My overall experience at the campground was sensational!!!! I can't wait to return!!! One downfall is that they do not offer tent sites. The people were absolutely wonderful! The residents of this beautiful community are the friendliest you'd meet anywhere!!! People picked up after their dogs the place was as clean as a whistle. Also peaceful and quiet.
Sep 03, 2022 · BethWe just spent 9 days here in our fifth wheel. The campground is spacious, clean and has full hookups. The staff and residents are amazing! We reserved the pavilion and had a party with friends. And the laundry facility is clean and inexpensive. We will be back!
