Trout Creek Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the scenic state of Montana? Trout Creek Campground, located in Trout Creek, MT 59874, USA, offers a camping experience with access to natural beauty and nearby amenities. Based on the available customer reviews, we can piece together an objective introduction to help local users decide if this campground aligns with their needs for a Montana getaway.
Trout Creek Campground is identified as a state park, which often implies certain standards of maintenance and access to natural resources. One reviewer mentioned enjoying the campground and noted its affiliation with the state park system, highlighting a potential benefit of discounted rates for those with a disability access card or golden agers. This suggests that for eligible local users, Trout Creek Campground could be a more affordable option for "camping near me."
Environment: Quiet Natural Setting with Water Access
One of the recurring themes in the positive review is the peaceful environment of Trout Creek Campground. The reviewer who stayed from Wednesday through Memorial Day noted that there were very few campers present, resulting in a "very quiet" atmosphere. This could be a significant draw for those seeking a tranquil escape into nature. The name "Trout Creek Campground" itself suggests the presence of a creek nearby, which could enhance the natural ambiance and potentially offer opportunities for fishing or enjoying the sounds of flowing water.
Furthermore, the campground is located "close to a boat ramp down the street," indicating easy access to a nearby body of water, likely for boating and related activities. This proximity to a boat ramp adds to the appeal for campers who enjoy water-based recreation.
However, it's important to also consider the less positive feedback regarding an interaction with the owner. One reviewer who had enjoyed the campground on several previous occasions reported a negative experience during their last visit involving a noise complaint. They described the owner's handling of the situation as "very rude," specifically mentioning the unprofessional and uncomfortable berating of the reviewer's wife. This feedback, while isolated to one review, provides an important perspective on potential management interactions.
Services and Amenities: State Park Standards with a Camp Host
As a state park campground, Trout Creek Campground likely offers a range of standard amenities typically found in such facilities. These might include:
- Designated Campsites: Areas for pitching tents or parking RVs.
- Restroom Facilities: Likely vault toilets, though potentially more developed restrooms depending on the park.
- Water Access: Potable water sources for campers.
- Fire Pits or Grills: For safe campfires and cooking.
- Picnic Tables: At individual campsites or in common areas.
The positive review specifically mentions the presence of a "camp host who keeps the place clean," which is a significant service contributing to the overall enjoyment and maintenance of the campground. The availability of a camp host can also be beneficial for campers seeking information or assistance during their stay.
The mention of discounted rates for those with a disability access card or golden agers, consistent with state park policies, is another service that enhances the accessibility and affordability for eligible users.

Trout Creek Campground Reviews
This is the second time we have been here, and I love this campground. This is a state park, so if you have a disability access card or are a golden ager, it's 50% off, or it's $16 a night. We arrived on Wednesday and left on Memorial Day. There were only four campers there, and it was very quiet. There is also a camp host who keeps the place clean. I would like to give a shout-out and thank them. You are also close to a boat ramp down the street.
May 26, 2024 · sandra owens (Shandy)We have been to this camp ground several times over the past couple of years and we have always enjoyed our stay. This last time we received a noise complaint, and the owner was very rude when addressing it. After he had addressed it with the main group, he cornered my wife as she was walking back to our camper and berated her and made her highly uncomfortable. It was not the addressing of the noise complaint that was the issue, it was the unprofessional and inappropriate way it was communicated. That has led to the negative review. We will not be staying at this camp site again nor will we be suggesting a stay here.

Jul 18, 2024 · gary hillGreat camping spot. Close to the water, quiet, fairly affordable, clean. Would definitely recommend for a night or a weekend or week or two even lol
Jun 06, 2021 · Chad KnappBest campground I've ever been in, personally. Its proximity to boat launch is a major plus for me.
