Tucquan Park Family Campground Introduce
For local residents in the Holtwood, Pennsylvania area and those searching within the "camping near me" category, Tucquan Park Family Campground, situated at 917 River Rd, Holtwood, PA 17532, USA, offers a camping destination with a history of catering to families. You can contact them at (717) 284-2156 or +1 717-284-2156 for inquiries and to gather the most current information. While one recent review suggests changes in the campground's environment and policies, another highlights the friendly staff and the availability of various campsites, making it a place worth considering for your local camping needs.
The environment of Tucquan Park Family Campground is suggested by its name and address to be located in a potentially scenic area, likely near the Susquehanna River given its "River Rd" address. Historically, it was considered a "family fun environment," implying a setting conducive to outdoor activities and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. The availability of river access could offer opportunities for fishing, boating, or simply enjoying the natural beauty of the riverfront. However, a recent review indicates that changes have occurred, potentially affecting the overall ambiance and the experience for campers. It would be prudent for prospective visitors to inquire about the current environment and any recent changes to ensure it aligns with their expectations for a local camping getaway.
Specific services offered at Tucquan Park Family Campground can be inferred from general campground practices and the limited customer feedback available. The fact that the reviewer was inquiring about staying later in the season and checking out sites suggests that the campground accommodates both short-term and potentially seasonal campers. The ability to tour the grounds indicates a willingness to provide prospective guests with a preview of the facilities. While not explicitly mentioned, typical campground services often include designated campsites for tents and RVs, water and electrical hookups (the extent of which may vary by site), restroom and shower facilities, and possibly a dump station for RVs. The mention of "sites were all set up nicely" suggests that the individual campsites are maintained and prepared for guests. However, the lack of detailed information about specific amenities like a camp store, laundry facilities, or recreational areas makes it essential for potential campers to inquire directly about the services available.
The features of Tucquan Park Family Campground include a variety of campsites, as noted by the reviewer who toured the grounds. The campground appears to have options that may accommodate different sizes of camping setups. However, it's important to note the potential challenge for "big rig friendly" RVs due to "sharp change in grades off of the main road," which could cause longer setups to bottom out. Despite this, the reviewer mentioned that "there are several options available," indicating that some sites can accommodate larger RVs. The potential proximity to the river could be a significant feature, offering scenic views and possibly recreational activities. The historical mention of a "family fun environment" suggests that the campground may have previously offered or may still offer activities or amenities geared towards families, although recent changes might have altered this aspect. To get a clear understanding of the current features, including any recreational facilities, trails, or specific amenities, direct communication with the campground is advisable.
Regarding the "camping near me" platform category and the provision of services or goods for sale, the limited information makes it difficult to ascertain the extent of these offerings at Tucquan Park Family Campground. While campgrounds often have a store selling basic necessities, snacks, and camping supplies, this is not mentioned in the reviews. Similarly, there is no information about on-site services such as firewood sales, propane refills, or equipment rentals. Given its location in Holtwood, PA, it is likely that local stores and services are accessible within a reasonable driving distance, allowing campers to obtain any needed supplies or services off-site. However, for those specifically seeking a campground with on-site sales and services, it would be beneficial to inquire directly with Tucquan Park Family Campground about what they currently offer.
Promotional information for Tucquan Park Family Campground is not available in the provided reviews. To learn about any current specials, discounts, or seasonal offers, local users should contact the campground directly via phone or visit their website if they have one. It's possible they offer deals for longer stays, off-season camping, or for local residents. Given the recent changes mentioned in one review, it would also be wise to inquire about any new policies or regulations that might be in place, as the reviewer noted that some new rules were not yet reflected on their website. This proactive approach will help ensure a clear understanding of the current conditions and any potential cost savings.
The two customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives. One review from the past mentions a "family fun environment" that has seemingly changed due to new rules and unprofessional communication from the staff. This raises a potential concern for those seeking a relaxed and well-managed family camping experience. On the other hand, a more recent review highlights the friendly greeting at the office, the willingness to provide information and tours, and the availability of various campsites, including some suitable for larger RVs. This suggests that while there may have been changes, the staff can still be helpful, and the campground offers options for different camping needs. However, the caveat about potential difficulties for very large rigs due to terrain is important for RV owners to consider.
In conclusion, Tucquan Park Family Campground in Holtwood, PA, offers a local camping option with a history of family focus and potential river access. While a recent review indicates changes in rules and staff communication, another highlights the friendly service and variety of campsites, including some that can accommodate larger RVs (with caution regarding steep grades). For local users searching for "camping near me," Tucquan Park Family Campground warrants further investigation. It is crucial to contact them directly at (717) 284-2156 to inquire about the current environment, services, features, and any new policies, as well as to discuss site suitability for your specific camping setup. This will help ensure an informed decision and a potentially enjoyable camping experience in Holtwood, PA.

Tucquan Park Family Campground Reviews
This use to be a family fun environment, however they have changed and added so many rules (that have not even been added to their website) that it is no longer enjoyable. And the staff were not professional in letting campers know the new policy changes.
Apr 25, 2025 · TashaWent to visit while in the area to inquire about staying later in the season and check out site's due the large size of our rig tje lady who greeted me at the office was extremely friendly and offered all the information I was interested in and allowed me to tour the grounds the site's were all set up nicely but are not all big rig friendly due to sharp change in grades off of the main road I feel those with longer set ups would likely bottom out heading to these site's but there are several options available we will be trying it out later this summer
Mar 20, 2025 · Travis JenkinsI usually camp here three to four times a year. These folks go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. They are friendly and nice. They do a super job with extra activities. I especially like the kids activities which are always well thought out and executed!
Sep 26, 2024 · Julie YarringtonCampground and it's activities are great. Difficulty is in our dealings with making reservations. We made multiple reservations for different sites to be placed together and staff split our reservations up even after we spoke about keeping us together. This is not the first time this happened to us. I can understand once but twice. Also we were told there would be a visit from the owner during our stay and that never happened. There was no apology or monetary compensation. We were also told that the site had someone on it for months but we visited 2 weeks prior to our stay and the site was empty. Do not plan to have your reservation correct when staying here. Be careful with integrity maybe an issue.
