One of the standout features of Turtle Lake Campground is its stunning location directly on Turtle Lake. As one happy camper noted, staying at "Site #8 right on the water next to the beach was very nice in the evening." The opportunity to camp so close to the water enhances the overall camping experience, providing easy access for swimming, relaxation by the shore, and enjoying the picturesque lake views. Imagine waking up to the gentle lapping of water and spending your evenings watching the sunset over the tranquil lake.
Turtle Lake Campground understands that many campers travel with their beloved pets. Notably, the campground is pet-friendly, allowing dogs on "two of the three beaches around the lake." This thoughtful policy ensures that your furry companions can also enjoy the outdoor experience with you. Having designated pet-friendly areas allows everyone to enjoy the lake while respecting the needs of all visitors.
Cleanliness and convenience are top priorities at Turtle Lake Campground. Multiple reviewers have praised the well-maintained facilities, with one stating, "Bathrooms are clean." This attention to hygiene ensures a comfortable and pleasant stay for all guests. Furthermore, the availability of "showers in separate rooms" offers added privacy and convenience. Campers have also highlighted the excellent water temperature, with one mentioning "very large and great hot water" in the showers, a welcome feature after a day of outdoor activities.
For added convenience, Turtle Lake Campground also provides "washer and dryers onsite." This amenity is particularly beneficial for longer stays or for families who appreciate the ability to do laundry while enjoying their camping trip. Having these facilities available eliminates the need to leave the campground for laundry services, allowing you to maximize your relaxation time.
Families with children will appreciate the "nice playground for kids" located within the campground. This dedicated play area provides a safe and fun environment for children to burn off energy and socialize with other young campers. It's a great way to keep the little ones entertained while adults relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.
The presence of "a big pavilion" offers a versatile space for various activities. Whether you're looking for a shaded area to gather with a large group, a sheltered spot for picnics during inclement weather, or a communal space for campground events, the pavilion provides a valuable amenity for all guests.

This level of service contributes significantly to a positive overall experience.
While one reviewer noted the presence of "non biting flies" during the morning, they also clarified that they "did not notice during the evening," suggesting that this was a temporary and localized issue. It's important to note that such natural occurrences can sometimes happen in outdoor settings, and the reviewer's overall positive experience indicates that it did not significantly detract from their stay.
Adding extra value to your stay, Turtle Lake Campground offers a unique promotional opportunity. As mentioned by a reviewer, "Don't forget to use your coupon on the campground map for St. Ambrose Cellars which is nearby." This partnership with a local winery provides an added incentive for guests to explore the area and enjoy the offerings of St. Ambrose Cellars, likely including wine tastings or discounts. This local collaboration enhances the overall visitor experience by connecting campers with nearby attractions.
In conclusion, for local users actively searching for "camping near me," Turtle Lake Campground in Beulah, Michigan, offers a compelling combination of natural beauty, well-maintained amenities, and positive guest experiences. Showers are in separate rooms and very large and great hot water. Washer and dryers onsite. A nice playground for kids. A big pavilion. Would definitely stay here again. Sep 13, 2022 · Roberta Peek6-16-19, stayed here one night and hope to be back to explore the area some more. Staff was helpful with a late checkin. Site #8 right on the water next to the beach was very nice in the evening. Short walk to the bath/showers. The old shower/bath are nice but the new showers are excellent. Non biting flies were bad in the morning but did not notice during the evening.
Jun 18, 2019 · Gerard EllisGreat family owned campground Well worth the cost! Clean small sized lake with a few sandy swim areas great for kids and large spacious campsites. We stayed at sites with electric and we had a water spout as well. The bathrooms and showers were nice and clean also spacious (cleaned frequently as well) Everyone was pleasantly kind and polite. They have kayak rentals, a couple play parks, basketball courts, pavilion for events and washers/dryers. We will definitely be back!
Jul 19, 2020 · Kristina InosencioI loved it here! Super nice showers, easy hook ups, and everyone was super friendly. Very pet friendly too, they can even swim on one of the beaches. Lots of things to do, or nothing at all. Multiple playgrounds and I love they have the old school turning merry-go-round! Kids let me use it. Be sure to check your Google route tho, it can take you some weird ways. Look for the closest entrance to the office.
Sep 13, 2022 · Katie DoaneGreat campground off the beaten path. The lake is beautiful, campsites are laid out pretty well for everything from tents to large fifth wheels. Bathrooms and showers on-site that are centrally located. There is an equestrian section, and it is neat to watch the horses hit the water at the boat launch!7/19/21Update: added last star to the campground. This was our 4th year coming here, and all was great! We look forward to coming back again next July and continuing the tradition for many more years.
