Ulipius lake Introduce
For local residents in and around Buchanan, Georgia, who are searching for "camping near me," Ulipius Lake, located at 5901-5957 GA-120, Buchanan, GA 30113, presents itself as a potential lakeside camping destination. However, it is crucial for prospective campers to consider all available information, especially customer reviews, to form an objective understanding of what this campground offers. Based on the provided feedback, a detailed introduction to Ulipius Lake can be offered to local users to aid in their decision-making process.
The environment of Ulipius Lake is centered around a lake, which could potentially offer scenic views and opportunities for water-related activities. However, one review refers to the location as "Sea breeze lake" and describes the lake itself negatively, stating it has "nasty water" and "needs to be dredged and the bottom cleaned out." This raises significant concerns about the quality and appeal of the primary natural feature of the campground. While the surrounding area of Buchanan, Georgia, may offer natural beauty, the review suggests that the lake itself might detract from the overall environmental appeal of Ulipius Lake. The mention of it being a "pay lake unless your military" also indicates a potential fee structure associated with lake access or activities, which might influence local users' decisions.
In terms of services, the customer review provides conflicting and negative information. One camper mentioned being told that showers were for campers and then subsequently being told they were only for RVs, indicating inconsistency and a lack of clear policies. This suggests potential unreliability in the availability and accessibility of basic amenities. The review also highlights issues with the management, alleging that different managers provide contradictory information and that they seem prone to arguments. This lack of consistent management could impact the delivery and reliability of all services at the campground. The review further mentions that for monthly stays (around $800, or $1000 for "waterfront"), extra charges for power were later imposed despite not being in the initial agreement, and that only cash payments were accepted without receipts. These allegations raise concerns about transparency and fairness in billing practices. The overall impression from the review is that the services are not well-managed and potentially unreliable.
The features of Ulipius Lake, based on the provided review, appear limited and potentially negative. The lake, which would typically be a primary feature, is described as having "nasty water." The inconsistency regarding shower access and the alleged lack of clear rules detract from any positive features the campground might otherwise offer. The review explicitly states that "camping is a nightmare" at this location, suggesting a lack of features that would contribute to a positive camping experience. While it's mentioned that "as a day use it may be different," the focus here is on camping, and the feedback is overwhelmingly negative. The alleged disrespectful treatment of veterans by the management is a serious concern and would undoubtedly deter many local users. The lack of consistent rules and the confrontational attitude attributed to the managers further diminish any potential positive features of the campground.
Promotional information is not directly available in the provided review. However, the mention of different monthly rates ($800 vs. $1000 for "waterfront") and the condition that the lake is a "pay lake unless your military" suggests a tiered pricing structure. The alleged imposition of extra power charges after the initial agreement could be considered a negative promotion, as it implies hidden or changing costs. The lack of transparency in financial transactions, with only cash payments accepted and inconsistent receipt provision, does not inspire confidence. Local users would need to inquire directly about any legitimate promotions, but the negative experiences reported by a former camper should give pause.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in Buchanan, GA, the review of Ulipius Lake (also referred to as Sea Breeze Lake) paints a concerning picture. The negative comments regarding lake water quality, inconsistent and potentially unreliable services, poor management, and alleged disrespectful treatment of veterans are serious red flags. The lack of positive feedback in the provided review suggests that the camping experience at Ulipius Lake may be far from satisfactory. Local users should carefully consider these points and seek additional information from other sources if available, or perhaps consider alternative campgrounds in the Buchanan area that have more positive and consistent reviews.
The discrepancy in the campground's name ("Ulipius lake" in the address vs. "Sea breeze lake" in the review) could also indicate potential confusion or rebranding, but the negative sentiment remains consistent across the review. The issues raised, particularly those concerning management and basic amenities, are critical for any camper's comfort and safety. Local users are advised to prioritize campgrounds with transparent policies, reliable services, and positive customer feedback to ensure a pleasant "camping near me" experience.
In conclusion, based on the provided customer review, Ulipius Lake near Buchanan, GA, appears to have significant issues, particularly concerning management, consistency of services, and the quality of the lake itself. Local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of these reported negative experiences. The allegations of inconsistent rules, disrespectful behavior, and hidden charges are serious concerns. It would be prudent for potential campers to seek alternative options in the area that offer a more reliable and positive camping environment. This objective overview, based on the available information, strongly suggests caution when considering Ulipius Lake for a camping trip.

Ulipius lake Reviews
It's a good camp ground. It's just the management.i stayed almost 20 days a seen a lot you have one manger tell you something then another get mad and tell you different. I see a handicap childs father get told he could drive in field to set up then manger came running out and told him that they never said that . Then I was told showers where for campers and then I was told no it's just for RVs. The managers think they own the property and are always looking to fight anyone for any reason . The rules are not consistent and they have no clue what's going on I used to would recommend this place but not after they lied to my face and many others I will not ever go back till the Va does something about management. They treat veterans like trash here as if they are better then you and very disrespectful to everyone. I normally never leave bad reviews but this place camping is a nightmare. As a day use it may be different but for campers it's not a friendly place .
