The customer reviews highlight a peaceful environment, clean facilities, and a friendly staff, making it an attractive option for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. While there are some considerations regarding cell phone service and campsite size, the overall sentiment suggests a well-maintained and enjoyable campground.
The environment of Coleman Lake Campground is described as "very peaceful," indicating a serene setting conducive to relaxation and connecting with nature. The presence of Coleman Lake itself suggests opportunities for water-based activities, as one reviewer mentioned "decent fishing in the lake." However, they noted that warm temperatures might affect the fishing, implying that it could be better during cooler seasons like spring. The emphasis on peace and quiet aligns with the preferences of "most real campers" who appreciate the sounds and light of nature, as noted by one reviewer who expressed a desire for less artificial lighting from other campers. The positive mention of the "team of forestry guys and gals there" suggests that the campground is likely situated within or managed by forestry resources, further implying a natural and potentially well-maintained environment.
In terms of services, Coleman Lake Campground appears to prioritize cleanliness and helpfulness. One reviewer explicitly stated that the "bathrooms super clean and nice," even noting the consistent pine scent, indicating a high standard of hygiene. The friendly and helpful nature of the staff, referred to as the "team of forestry guys and gals," is also a significant service aspect, suggesting that campers can expect assistance and a positive interaction with the campground personnel. While specific details about other services like water hookups, electrical availability, or dump stations are not provided in the reviews, the focus on clean restrooms suggests a commitment to basic comfort and sanitation.
The features of Coleman Lake Campground that stand out include the "fantastic" campsites with "pea gravel." This is noted as a significant advantage over the sand found at many other campgrounds, likely offering better drainage and a cleaner camping area. However, it's important to note that the "sites are not super big," and any camper over 30 feet might find maneuvering and fitting a bit "tight." This is crucial information for local users with larger RVs or trailers to consider when planning their stay. The presence of Coleman Lake provides the feature of "decent fishing," although the quality might vary with the season and water temperature. The overall peaceful atmosphere is another key feature, appealing to those seeking a quiet escape into nature.
One notable limitation mentioned in the reviews is the lack of cell phone service. The reviewer explicitly stated "no cell phone service," which could be a significant consideration for local users who need to stay connected. However, for those seeking a true digital detox and immersion in nature, this could be seen as a benefit contributing to the peacefulness of the campground. It's essential for potential visitors to be aware of this limitation and plan accordingly for communication needs.

Coleman Lake Campground and Picnic Area Reviews
Pretty Nice Camping, no cell phone service, very peaceful. Would prefer the people who have Blue accent lights on their campers leave them off. Most real campers prefer sounds and light from nature. (Not your bumpkin lights). The team of forestry guys and gals there are great.
Oct 01, 2023 · Joshua AganGreat Campground. Sites Are Fantastic. Love The Pea Gravel. Lots Better Than The Sand Most Campgrounds Use. Sites Are Not Super Big. Any Camper Over 30 Ft Gonna Be A Little Tight. Bathrooms Super Clean And Nice. Smelled Just Like Pine Sol All Weekend. Very Well Kept. Decent Fishing In The Lake But It Was Very Warm Temps. Probably Great Fishing In The Spring. We Will Be Back.
May 17, 2022 · Adam HaydenCampground and trails were great. A water main broke an hour before we arrived, so no water hook ups orshowers . We had enough onboard water for 2 days, but had to leave after that. We were 2 sites down from camp host, but never saw them. It was still a great campground.
Dec 10, 2023 · Bobby BoyetteGreat Campground tucked away. Quiet, lazy place to unwind. Larry & Edith have been camp hosts for about 2 years, they are an awesome couple and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Although, I think they went on a much needed vacation June 1, 2019. Clean bathroom at each of the 2 loops, each campsite has picnic table, fire ring, very shady & all are on concrete pads for a level spot. Tents can still camp there too, just in a grassy area. Great area for fishing, hiking, day use with beach area for swimming, grilling, swinging, also basketball goal & horseshoes. Horses are welcome and they have their own camp.
Jun 05, 2019 · Aprilmayorjune UsreyI absolutely love to camp here I started going as a kid, we used to have big family campouts. Every time I'm there I feel a little of that again, even if it's just me alone, although I never am. They have full hookups except sewage but a nice dump station and wash down area. Or if primitive camping is more your style you can set up anything in the main camp ground or overflow . And there's pine glen which is extreme primitive.
