The surrounding Bighorn National Forest boasts diverse terrain, from towering mountains and lush forests to open meadows, creating a visually stunning backdrop for your camping adventure. The campground itself is thoughtfully laid out with only eight campsites, ensuring ample space and privacy for each visitor. This smaller scale contributes to the overall quiet and peaceful atmosphere, a welcome contrast to larger, more crowded campgrounds.

As noted by previous visitors, the area is a haven for moose, squirrels, various bird species, and deer. Services and Amenities:
While Island Park Campground prides itself on its natural charm and tranquility, it also provides essential services to ensure a comfortable stay. One of the frequently praised aspects is the cleanliness of the restrooms. Additionally, the presence of a campground host adds another layer of support and security. A helpful host can provide valuable information about the area, assist with any concerns, and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.
The individual campsites are described as being spaced far apart, a significant advantage for those who value privacy and a sense of seclusion. This thoughtful layout allows campers to truly immerse themselves in the natural surroundings without feeling crowded by neighboring sites. While specific details about each campsite's features (such as picnic tables or fire rings) are not explicitly mentioned in the provided information, it is reasonable to expect these standard amenities at a developed campground within a national forest.
Features and Activities:
Island Park Campground's prime location within Bighorn National Forest offers access to a wide array of outdoor activities. For fishing enthusiasts, the proximity to Ten Sleep Creek is a major draw. The creek is known to be abundant with fish, providing excellent opportunities for anglers to cast their lines and enjoy the tranquility of fly fishing or other angling methods. Island Park Campground Reviews
Great little campground. 8 sites which are spaced far apart. Restrooms are clean and the campground host is great. Ten sleep creek runs behind the campground and it’s abundant with moose, squirrels, birds and deer.
Jul 17, 2022 · Todd GrivettiSmaller than most developed sites in the big horns, this campground is quiet, scenic, and we'll maintained. We did see a few moose a few weeks ago. Access to fishing is fantastic.
Sep 03, 2021 · Sheldon BartelLovely little campground, had a mama and baby moose stroll into camp at dusk. Next to a quaint little stream where you can fish or just enjoy a sunset.
Aug 03, 2023 · Amie BierThe hosts were very helpful and nice. The bathrooms were clean. This is a small campground, but was very quiet.
Aug 12, 2019 · kevin graffAwesome campground close to the creek and even an area with slow enough flow for the kids to play.
