Leigh Creek RV Dump Station Introduce
For local RV travelers and those exploring the scenic beauty around Buffalo, Wyoming, finding convenient and reliable RV services is essential. Within the "camping near me" platform category, while campgrounds themselves offer varying levels of amenities, dedicated RV dump stations provide crucial services for maintaining your mobile home on the road. Leigh Creek RV Dump Station, located in Buffalo, WY 82834, USA, stands out as a highly convenient and appreciated facility for RV owners traveling in the Bighorn region. Based on the available customer reviews, this dump station offers essential services in an easily accessible location, making it a valuable resource for the RV community.
The environment of Leigh Creek RV Dump Station is primarily functional, designed for ease of access and efficient use. Situated "right off the side of the highway, just like a rest stop," it offers a pull-in and pull-out setup across its four lanes, ensuring a straightforward and hassle-free experience for RVs of various sizes. This roadside location eliminates the need to navigate complex campground layouts or winding roads, making it particularly convenient for those on the move. While the immediate surroundings are not described in terms of scenic beauty, its practicality and accessibility are its key environmental features, providing a necessary service without significant detours.
The primary services offered at Leigh Creek RV Dump Station include a dedicated RV dump facility, non-portable water, and potable water. The presence of both types of water in each of the four lanes is a significant advantage, allowing RV owners to efficiently empty their waste tanks and replenish their fresh water supplies in one stop. The non-portable water is typically used for rinsing the sewer hose and cleaning the dump area, while the potable water is safe for filling the RV's fresh water tank for drinking, cooking, and other onboard uses. The layout with four lanes suggests a capacity to handle multiple RVs simultaneously, although, as noted in the reviews, waiting times can occur during peak periods.
A notable feature of Leigh Creek RV Dump Station is its user-friendly operation. The reviews indicate that there is "no attendant" on-site, implying a self-service model. Despite the lack of staff, the facility is described as "clean," suggesting that users generally take responsibility for maintaining the area. Payment for the services is based on a "donation" system. This honor-based approach relies on the goodwill of RV users to contribute to the upkeep and continuation of this valuable service. The reviews explicitly mention that "keeping this wonderful service depends on us users giving a donation and cleaning up after ourselves," emphasizing the communal responsibility in maintaining the facility for everyone's benefit.
Promotional information in the traditional sense is not applicable to a service like a public RV dump station. However, the positive reviews themselves serve as strong endorsements for its convenience and cleanliness. The fact that one user stated, "I wish there were more of these!" highlights the value and need for such facilities along travel routes. The repeated emphasis on convenience, especially for those traveling to or from the Bighorn Mountains, acts as a form of positive word-of-mouth promotion within the RV community. The suggestion to avoid Sundays due to potentially long lines could also be considered practical advice for users planning their stops.
For local users and those passing through the Buffalo, Wyoming area, Leigh Creek RV Dump Station offers a crucial service within the broader context of "camping near me." While not a campground itself, it supports the RV camping experience by providing essential waste disposal and water replenishment facilities. Its location directly off the highway ensures easy access for RVs of all sizes, making it a convenient stop for pre-trip preparations, post-trip cleanup, or as a necessary service during longer journeys. The availability of both potable and non-potable water further enhances its utility for RV owners.
To utilize the services at Leigh Creek RV Dump Station, no specific phone number is required for access. The provided phone numbers, (307) 674-2600 and +1 307-674-2600, are associated with other nearby services (as seen in previous queries for Pole Creek Cabin). For the dump station, users can simply pull in and use the facilities. As payment is by donation, it is advisable to have some cash or a method to leave a contribution to support its maintenance. The cleanliness of the station, as reported by users, suggests that most RVers using the facility are conscientious about leaving it in good condition for others.
In conclusion, Leigh Creek RV Dump Station provides a valuable and convenient service for the RV community in the Buffalo, Wyoming area. Its location right off the highway, coupled with the availability of dump services, non-portable water, and potable water in each of its four lanes, makes it an efficient stop for RV maintenance. The self-service and donation-based system rely on the cooperation of users to ensure its continued operation and cleanliness. For local RV owners and travelers exploring the "camping near me" options in the Bighorns and surrounding regions, Leigh Creek RV Dump Station is a well-regarded and essential facility to keep in mind for a smooth and comfortable journey.

Has a dump, non-portable water, and potable water in each of the four lanes. Pull in and pull out Right off the side of the highway, just like a rest stop. Easy and convenient. I wish there were more of these!
Aug 08, 2021 · Jim ClementsUsed this dump station during our trip to the Bighorns in July. Very convenient. Had water too. Lines get long on Sundays so we went on Monday and there was no waiting. There's no attendant but it's clean. Pay by donation. Keeping this wonderful service depends on us users giving a donation and cleaning up after ourselves. Thank you to the NF and to the campers who did their part.
Aug 01, 2022 · Nikki JulienSo we camped in one of the forest service sites up West Ten Sleep Creek and on the way out we were looking for any kind of dump station so that we did not have to carry the extra weight in our tanks. Lo and behold someone else had already thought of this for us and put the dump station in the perfect place! It was an easy pull through with several lanes. It worked perfect for our needs.
Aug 07, 2018 · Mike SechlerWanted to use this facility before we dispersed camped for a few days. Gate was closed and locked. Talked to some locals that said they rarely see it open so might make other plans.
