Ten Sleep Rock Ranch Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the heart of Wyoming? Consider Ten Sleep Rock Ranch, a distinctive campground located at 3278 E US HWY 16, Ten Sleep, WY 82442, USA. This campground offers a unique experience, particularly appealing to rock climbers and outdoor enthusiasts, while also providing a beautiful setting for all types of campers. Based on recent customer reviews, Ten Sleep Rock Ranch presents a blend of natural beauty, essential amenities, and a vibrant social atmosphere, although some aspects may vary depending on your accommodation choice and preferences.
The environment of Ten Sleep Rock Ranch is consistently praised for its beauty. One visitor described the campground itself as "beautiful," highlighting features such as apple trees abundant with fruit during September and a "beautiful and peaceful" creek flowing through the grounds. This natural setting provides a tranquil backdrop for your camping adventure, offering opportunities for relaxation and enjoying the outdoors. The location along US HWY 16 also provides relatively easy access, although one review does mention its proximity to the highway in the context of noise.
In terms of services and features, Ten Sleep Rock Ranch offers a range of amenities to cater to different camping styles. For tent campers, the fees are considered "very reasonable," although it's noted that the tent camping sites can be "quite small and close together." Despite this, tent campers have access to shared facilities, including refrigerators and a microwave for guest use, adding convenience to their stay. For those seeking more substantial shelter, cabins are available. However, one reviewer mentioned that the cabin price was perceived as "quite high" during their stay due to non-functional bathrooms, requiring the use of a Porta potty, and an extra charge for showers. This suggests that the cabin experience might vary, and it's advisable to inquire about the current status of all amenities when booking.
A significant aspect of Ten Sleep Rock Ranch is its strong connection to the rock climbing community. The campground is described as being "run by an awesome pair of climbers," fostering a welcoming environment for climbers who frequent the area. For these visitors, the availability of amenities like WiFi, showers, toilets, and sinks is considered a "luxurious" addition to their camping experience. The grounds are reported to be "well kept," and the "ever growing deck space" is highlighted as a fantastic area for socializing and resting between climbs. This has led to many climbers, as mentioned in a review, staying for extended periods throughout the summer and fall climbing season, indicating a strong sense of community and suitability for this specific user group.
However, one detailed review raises a point about the limited number of sinks available, although an update mentions the addition of a second sink as a "HUGE upgrade." This feedback underscores the campground's responsiveness to guest suggestions and its ongoing efforts to improve the facilities. The same review also brings up a more nuanced issue regarding the campground's quiet hours policy. While acknowledging the need for quiet, the reviewer argues that a strict 10 PM quiet hours rule might not be ideal for a campground with a diverse mix of visitors, including weekend climbers, those with remote work schedules, and "dirtbag" climbers with varying lifestyles. The reviewer suggests that a more flexible approach, focusing on "no loud partying" rather than absolute silence, might better accommodate the social dynamics of the campground and the natural sounds of an outdoor environment. This perspective offers valuable insight into the campground's social atmosphere and potential considerations for those who value evening socializing.
Regarding promotional information, specific discounts or special offers are not mentioned in the provided reviews. However, the "very reasonable" fee for tent camping can be considered a form of value-based promotion. For cabin rentals, it would be prudent to inquire about pricing and the functionality of all amenities at the time of booking to ensure it aligns with your expectations and budget.
For local users searching for "camping near me" on platforms offering related services or goods, Ten Sleep Rock Ranch presents a unique option. Its stunning natural environment, coupled with amenities catering to both general campers and the climbing community, makes it a noteworthy choice. While tent campers can expect reasonable rates and access to essential shared facilities, cabin renters should verify the operational status of all amenities before booking. The campground's strong connection to the climbing community also means that local climbers will find a particularly welcoming and well-equipped base for their adventures.
To learn more about Ten Sleep Rock Ranch or to make a reservation, you can contact them by phone at (307) 366-2096 or mobile phone at +1 307-366-2096. In conclusion, Ten Sleep Rock Ranch offers local users a "camping near me" experience with a strong emphasis on natural beauty and a welcoming atmosphere, particularly for rock climbers. While tent camping is noted as reasonably priced, potential cabin renters should inquire about the functionality of all amenities. The campground's unique character, driven by its climber-friendly ethos and scenic location, makes it a compelling option for those seeking an alternative to more traditional campgrounds in the Ten Sleep area. Consider Ten Sleep Rock Ranch for a camping adventure that combines outdoor recreation with a unique community feel.

Ten Sleep Rock Ranch Reviews
We stayed 2 nights at Ten Sleep Rock Ranch. Cabin was clean comfortable. The campground itself is beautiful. When we were there in Sept there were lots of apples on the trees. The creek running through the camp ground is beautiful and peaceful. The tent camping sites are quite small and close together but the fee seems very reasonable for tenting. There are refrigerators and a microwave for guest use. We stayed in a cabin but I felt the price was quite high considering that the bathrooms were not working and you had to use a Porta potty. There is an extra charge to use the showers.
Oct 10, 2023 · Norm SeeleyReally exceptional location and camp run by an awesome pair of climbers. It really is luxurious to have WiFi, showers, toilets and sinks. The grounds are well kept and the ever growing deck space is an awesome place to spend a rest day. I know many climbers, myself included, who stay for the entire summer/fall season.However:1 single sink in a place with hundreds of climbers is a pretty wild concept. Another sink would be really nice. (UPDATE: there's two sinks now and it's a HUGE upgrade)More importantly though: Quiet Hours at 10PM is stupid. Climbers cover a wide variety of lifestyles from the weekend warriors, to the remote gigs, and the absolute dirtbags. It's a busy campground, often crammed full, and it's next to a highway. Not to mention that the outdoors is just a noisy place in general. If a little noise keeps you up at night--wear ear plugs or deal with it. Forcing silent hours on everyone to accommodate the few workers stamps down on the evening social culture in favor of those who often are just visiting anyway. In recent experience, being quiet simply wasn't enough. Those who would complain to management expected absolute silence. This isn't a children's summer camp and having a hard curfew for all feels like a poor solution. I understand having quiet hours to mean "no loud partying" but it shouldn't mean "you literally can't make a noise or the weekenders will complain". Maybe a better policy would be "sometimes it's loud. It's a campground. Grow up, wear ear plugs, or deal with it."
Jun 20, 2024 · Josh RuhlmanThis place is the place to stay for climbers. I have never been to a better camp site than this, The site is full of characters and amenities for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The owners are working hard improving and maintaining this place! Not to mention that they are very friendly and kind, offered us their truck for day use when our car was dead and called the mobile mechanic for us. Never take kind people like them as granted, come and stay, you will not be disappointed.
Apr 28, 2022 · Simon MaiI didn’t stay overnight, but the daytime visitor amenities are wonderful and an extremely reasonable price. While I’m not a climber, the vibe is great and the scenery fantastic. Stop by for a shower, to make your picnic lunch, or a quick swim in Ten Sleep Creek. Thanks for being so welcoming to those of us passing through!
Jun 06, 2023 · Ellen WhittleWe really enjoyed our stay and thought the place was beautiful and cool. We are not climbers which is what the place seemed to be centered around but found it inviting nonetheless. We rented a cabin and it was comfortable and the price for camping was crazy cheap @$5 a person. Showers are $2 which is reasonable. There is a community fridge and sitting area. I think personal space is a little different for climbers than it is others so be prepared for others to be about 5 to 10 feet too close. Avoid the negative reviews about this place, it was a highlight of my trip.
