For local residents in and around Rockmart, Georgia, searching for "camping near me," The Beautiful Rock Campground, RV, and Music Park, located at 130 Forsyth Lake Rd, Rockmart, GA 30153, presents a multifaceted destination. Reachable by phone at (770) 684-8517 or +1 770-684-8517, this campground offers a blend of peaceful natural surroundings, convenient access to the Silver Comet Trail, and a welcoming, family-run atmosphere. While it appears to cater significantly to longer-term RV campers, it also accommodates shorter stays and boasts a well-maintained environment that appeals to various types of visitors.
The environment of The Beautiful Rock Campground is described by one reviewer as "peaceful and beautiful," suggesting a tranquil setting conducive to relaxation and enjoying nature. Its location in Rockmart, Georgia, likely features the typical landscapes of the region, potentially including wooded areas, open spaces, and possibly proximity to Forsyth Lake, as indicated by its address. The well-maintained nature of the campground, especially when compared to other places traveled by one reviewer, suggests an effort to keep the grounds clean and aesthetically pleasing. The proximity to the Silver Comet Trail is a significant environmental feature, offering easy access to miles of paved bike trail for cycling, walking, and enjoying the scenic beauty of the area. While one specific campsite experienced some litter, this was attributed to a potential recent storm and does not seem to reflect the overall maintenance of the park.
Based on the reviews from campers, The Beautiful Rock Campground, RV, and Music Park offers several services and amenities, with some specific details and considerations for potential visitors:
- RV Sites: The campground "obviously caters to longer term campers," indicating that it has infrastructure to support RVs, including hookups. One reviewer noted the presence of 50-amp circuits, advising shorter-term visitors to bring a "dogbone" adapter if their RV requires a different amperage. Water hookups were also available but required a hose longer than 25 feet in one instance.
- Level Campsites: The specific campsite mentioned was level, which is crucial for comfortable RV parking and setup.
- Bath and Shower Facilities: The campground has bath and shower facilities, described as "clean but had actual bathtubs," suggesting they are functional but perhaps a bit dated.
- Friendly and Helpful Staff: The staff, described as a "family operation," are consistently praised for being "very friendly and helpful."
- Proximity to Silver Comet Trail: A major service and feature is the "easy on and off from the park" to the Silver Comet Trail, making it an ideal base for trail users.
However, the reviews also highlight some potential limitations or missing amenities:
- Lack of Fire Ring and Picnic Table (at some sites): The specific short-term campsite mentioned did not have a fire ring or a picnic table, which are common amenities at many campgrounds. Local users should inquire about the availability of these at their assigned site.
- Noise from Park Thoroughfare: One campsite was located right on the "major thoroughfare in and out of the park," resulting in significant noise and activity starting early in the morning (5:30 am) from long-term residents heading to work. When booking, local users might want to request a site away from this area if seeking more tranquility.
- Difficulty in Initial Contact: One reviewer mentioned that it was "tough to get ahold of the park" initially, which could be a point of consideration for making reservations. Persistence in contacting them might be necessary.
- Focus on Long-Term Campers: While shorter stays are accommodated, the primary focus seems to be on longer-term residents, which might influence the allocation of certain amenities or the overall atmosphere in some areas of the park.
The features of The Beautiful Rock Campground, RV, and Music Park that might appeal to local users searching for "camping near me" include:
- Peaceful and Beautiful Environment (Overall): Despite some localized noise, the general ambiance is reported as pleasant and well-maintained.
- Direct Access to the Silver Comet Trail: A significant draw for cyclists, walkers, and runners.
- Friendly and Helpful Family Staff: Creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
- Level RV Sites: Ensuring comfortable parking and setup for RV travelers.

While it appears to cater more to long-term RV campers, shorter stays are accommodated, though amenities like fire rings and picnic tables might not be standard at all short-term sites, and noise from the park's thoroughfare can be a factor in certain locations. The Beautiful Rock Campground, RV, and Music Park Reviews
Every time we stop by to spend time here it is always peaceful and beautiful. Everything is very well maintained compared to the places that we have traveled. It is an amazing place for just a quick getaway or time with the family. Highly recommended.
Apr 18, 2025 · Believer In-GodMy wife and I were looking for a campground close to the Silver Comet Trail and couldn't do better than this one. Easy on and off from the park. It was tough to get ahold of the park but we managed to nail down a reservation. The park obviously caters to longer term campers but there were a few of us shorter ones there. The spot we were assigned was level but had no fire ring nor picnic table. The water hookup took more than a 25 foot hose and they only have 50amp circuits so bring your dogbone. The spot had a little bit of trash strewn around, maybe from a recent storm. The spot was right on the major thoroughfare in and out of the park so it was very loud and busy with the long termers heading to work starting at 5:30am. The park has an obvious patina to it, as the bath and showers were clean but had actual bathtubs. I'm sure it had its heyday. The staff (a family operation) were very friendly and helpful. The proximity to the trail was the big attraction for us and the trail itself was outstanding! Miles and miles of paved bike trail! The price was excellent! Overall worth the cost.
Apr 30, 2025 · Dave CCampground is superb! Clean, lots of landscape to enjoy and quiet. Full hookups and a steal for the price! If only I got to talk to Jon. Lots of history here and there's some great stories to be told. Wish I got to see inside the old stage / barn. The property is grassy and sprawling with rolling hills and massive trees providing shade. You can see the old stage here and 35 cows just grazing on the property near by happy as can be…Next time I'm here, I got to meet Jon and talk about the days with driveshaft building and Dale Earnhardt. I was only here for 2 nights passing through meeting with friends, but after talking with the granddaughter, I kick myself for not talking with the owner.
Jul 14, 2023 · Jason MillerThis place is beautiful. A setting in nature in an expansive valley with beautiful green meadows and big trees.Too bad the owner of the park doesn’t prioritize safety and sanitation. I am 6 year RV vet, and experienced the first time overfilling the camp septic tank. Super uncool! And the owner claimed it was my rig’s level when I showed him the leeching field was either saturated or the tank was full. See photo to show the level was that way for 4 days. It’s like boondocking but paying full hook up prices. My requests for discounts for the limited service were rejected. But worse than this is the free-roaming pit bulls. Yes, the long-term folks let ‘em out and they will encroach on your camping space off-leash. When you take your dogs for a walk, best to be ready with your weapon of choice: mace, asp, blade or 9mm. And the owners of the park don’t care about this either. I brought it to their attention and they minimized and took the side of the aggressive dog owners. It’s sparse pickings in this part of Georgia for RV parks, but it’s probably best to look for another spot in the area. Especially if you value safety, security and sanitation.
Mar 31, 2024 · Robert NickThe Rock, also called the Beautiful Rock, is a pretty nice campground right near the Silver Comet bike trail. It is a mixed bag of a park, but suited us pretty well. We were in section B and there were at least two other sections on the property that were not visible from our area. There is quite a bit of space between some sites and not a lot between others. We were near the (now rundown) stage once used for music festivals and also near a small creek and a field used by scout troops and other groups for tent camping. The park was quiet and actually quite beautiful with large grassy areas and trees all around. Maintenance has been spotty in the park, with long neglected piles of broken stuff here and there, but overall it was not unattractive. Roads and access were good and the price is very fair for a full hook up site. We camped at The Rock RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
