Based on recent customer reviews, this campground offers a blend of convenience, natural beauty, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a noteworthy choice for those in the area.
The environment at Upper Stamp Creek Campground is described as having "peaceful and beautiful scenery," suggesting a tranquil natural setting that appeals to those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. The campground is situated by a lake, as indicated by the mention of "waterfront" sites and a "boat ramp only and a beach." One reviewer who stayed at site #7 even attached pictures of the lake, highlighting its visual appeal. The campground features a mix of terrains, with mostly paved campsites, which is a significant convenience for RVers. However, one reviewer noted that while many sites are labeled "waterfront," the view of the water is often obstructed by grown underbrush. This is an important point for those specifically seeking unobstructed lake views when looking for "camping near me." Despite this, the overall environment seems conducive to a relaxing and enjoyable outdoor experience, with the lake being a central feature for recreation and scenery.
In terms of services, Upper Stamp Creek Campground appears to cater to both tent and RV campers. One review mentions "18 tent/RV spots" and "2 tent only spots down a steep road," indicating options for different types of camping setups. The presence of a "boat ramp only and a beach" suggests facilities for lake access, although the "boat ramp only" might imply that swimming is primarily at the beach area. The campground also has "friendly and helpful" Camp Hosts, as noted by a reviewer who met both sets. The fact that most sites are paved is a notable service for RVers, providing a stable and clean parking area. While specific details about other amenities like restrooms, showers, or hookups (for RVs) are not explicitly mentioned in these reviews, the context of a campground typically includes these basic services. To get a comprehensive list of available services, local users should contact the campground directly.
The features of Upper Stamp Creek Campground include its lakeside location, the availability of mostly paved campsites, a boat ramp, and a beach. The friendly and helpful Camp Hosts also stand out as a positive feature, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The smaller size of the campground, with only 18 tent/RV spots and 2 tent-only spots, might appeal to those seeking a more intimate and less crowded "camping near me" experience. The peaceful and beautiful scenery further enhances its appeal. However, as mentioned earlier, the obstructed lake views from some "waterfront" sites due to underbrush are a feature to be aware of, especially for those prioritizing unobstructed water views. Despite this, the combination of lake access, paved sites, and friendly management makes Upper Stamp Creek Campground a noteworthy option for local campers.

Upper Stamp Creek Campground Reviews
Great campsite. Most, if not all are paved. My ONLY complaint is that a lot of sites are “waterfront” and you can’t see the water. The underbrush has grown and blocks the view. It’s most of why we came. Attached are pictures of the lake from site #7
Jun 23, 2024 · Mark EttermanNice small campground. 18 tent/RV spots, 2 tent only spots down a steep road. There's a boat ramp only and a beach. Very peaceful and beautiful scenery. We met both sets of Camp Hosts, they're super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Jun 26, 2022 · Reyne TallentsSmall, serene campground on Lake Allatoona with a nice beach and swimming area! For added fun, check out the cemetery hidden in the woods! A path near the dumpsters leads to a clearing with graves dating back to the mid-1800s.
Jun 05, 2022 · Curtis FreeNice campsites. Such a beautiful and quiet part of the lake. Will definitely be back. Really wish they did weekday camping tho.
Jun 13, 2022 · Karah CottrillWe had a wonderful stay here. The hosts were fantastic. It was down pouring when we got there, so instead of making us get out and check in, they said go ahead and set up and they will come check us in later. They were incredibly friendly and nice, that does a lot for any stay. Our site was nice and clean. We were able to easily get the boat on since it is a smaller campground, there wasn't a bunch of boats trying to get in, the only complaint about the boat ramp is there is not a no wake zone, so every now and then you will have to deal with a jerk who doesn't watch for other boaters. Since it is on a lesser traveled part of the lake, there is some algae to deal with, bug nothing a shower can't fix. It is a very nice and clean campground. We will definitely stay here again!
