For local residents in the Woodstock, Georgia area searching for "camping near me" with a focus on lakeside recreation, Victoria Campground, located at 937 Victoria Landing Dr, Woodstock, GA 30189, offers a highly regarded option on the shores of Lake Allatoona. Reachable by phone at (678) 721-6700 or mobile at +1 678-721-6700, this campground consistently receives positive feedback for its scenic location, family-friendly amenities, and excellent staff, making it a popular choice for local campers.
The environment of Victoria Campground is clearly a major draw, particularly for those who love lakes. One reviewer enthusiastically stated, "I love the lake, any lake for that matter! Victoria campground is a fantastic location for lake lovers!" This highlights the campground's prime position on Lake Allatoona, offering local users direct access to the lake for various water-related activities and enjoyment. The same reviewer specifically mentioned that "The views from lakeside campsites are fantastic," indicating that campers can expect beautiful vistas of the lake from certain areas within the campground. This scenic environment provides a picturesque backdrop for a relaxing and enjoyable camping experience.
The campground appears to cater well to families. One reviewer who stayed with their family "loved it," and specifically mentioned that "The beach area was clean" and "The playground was well kept." A clean beach is essential for enjoying swimming, sunbathing, and other lakeside activities, while a well-maintained playground provides a safe and fun space for children to play. These features make Victoria Campground an attractive destination for local families looking for a weekend getaway or a longer camping vacation.
Despite its popularity and potentially full occupancy, Victoria Campground maintains a pleasant atmosphere. The same family reviewer noted that the "Noise level was low even though the place was packed." This suggests that the campground management and fellow campers contribute to a respectful and peaceful environment, allowing visitors to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings without excessive noise disruption.
The staff at Victoria Campground are consistently praised in the reviews. The family reviewer mentioned that "Misty welcomed us warmly and told us all about the campground," highlighting a friendly and informative check-in experience. Another reviewer echoed this sentiment, stating, "BTW, staff at this location are wonderful, very good people!" Excellent customer service from the campground staff can significantly enhance the overall camping experience, making guests feel welcome and well-cared for.
In terms of services and features, Victoria Campground seems well-equipped. The availability of lakeside campsites with "ample space for large RVs" indicates that the campground can accommodate larger recreational vehicles, making it suitable for local RV owners. The presence of a clean beach and a well-kept playground has already been mentioned as key features that contribute to the campground's appeal, especially for families and lake enthusiasts.
However, one reviewer did point out a few potential downsides, which local users should be aware of. They mentioned, "Don't plan on having big gatherings," suggesting that there might be restrictions on large group activities within the campground. This could be a consideration for local users planning to camp with extended family or large groups of friends. Additionally, the reviewer noted that "the grass, which you had better not park on, needs to be cut more frequently." This implies that while there is grassy terrain, campers should avoid parking on it, and the maintenance of the grass could be improved. This might be a minor aesthetic concern for some campers.
The same reviewer also commented that "Fishing could be better, but I guess that's why they call it fishing." This suggests that while Lake Allatoona offers fishing opportunities, the success rate might vary. Local users who are avid anglers might want to research fishing conditions on the lake specifically before planning their trip based solely on fishing.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall sentiment towards Victoria Campground remains highly positive. The reviewer who mentioned the downsides concluded, "Will I go again, absolutely, if invited." This indicates that the positive aspects of the campground, such as the lake views, location, and staff, outweigh the noted limitations for many visitors.
A crucial piece of advice for local users considering Victoria Campground is to "Make your reservations early! It is tough to get access due to its popularity." This strong recommendation highlights the high demand for campsites at this location, likely due to its attractive features and positive reputation. Early booking is essential to secure a spot, especially during peak seasons or weekends.
While the reviews provide valuable insights into the environment, services, and features of Victoria Campground, they do not contain any specific promotional information such as discounts, seasonal rates, or special offers. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers or visit their website (if available) to inquire about any current promotions or booking specials.
In conclusion, Victoria Campground at Lake Allatoona appears to be an excellent "camping near me" option for local users in the Woodstock, GA area, particularly those who love lakes and are looking for a family-friendly environment. Its fantastic lake views, clean beach, well-kept playground, and wonderful staff are consistently praised. While there might be some limitations regarding large gatherings and grass maintenance, and fishing might be average, the overall experience seems highly positive, as evidenced by repeat visitors and strong recommendations. The campground's popularity necessitates making reservations well in advance to secure a site. Local users seeking a lakeside camping getaway on Lake Allatoona should definitely consider Victoria Campground, keeping in mind the need for early booking.

Victoria Campground Reviews
My family and I stayed here this weekend and loved it. Misty welcomed us warmly and told us all about the campground. The beach area was clean. The playground was well kept. Noise level was low even though the place was packed. We will be returning!
Apr 06, 2025 · Driver of Sojourner ExpressI love the lake, any lake for that matter! Victoria campground is a fantastic location for lake lovers! The views from lakeside campsites are fantastic with ample space for large RVs. There are some downsides if you're like most folks. But like all ideal locations, it's not a bad idea to put some limitations in place. Don't plan on having big gatherings, and the grass, which you had better not park on, needs to be cut more frequently. Fishing could be better, but I guess that's why they call it fishing. Will I go again, absolutely, if invited. Make your reservations early! It is tough to get access due to its popularity. BTW, staff at this location are wonderful, very good people!
Sep 26, 2023 · Daniel ShafferWhat a lovely campground to stay and enjoy the nature of beautiful tall trees and a lake you can swim and fish in. My daughter loved the playground and the beach as well. I recommend this place if you're looking to have a clean and very spacious campsite. We had a few fires in the fire ring available and enjoyed our 5 day stay.Note: park closes gate nightly at 10:30pm so you can't go out so make sure you have all you need. They open the gate daily at 7am. There was barely a signal (At&t) and no internet connection near campsite 41. Traffic in morning leaving to Marietta was pretty bad. But still love this place and we'd like to go back and try a different spot, closer to the lake.
Sep 19, 2021 · Javier PadronBathhouse was way to hot and not very clean. Could use some sprucing up. The campground sites were big and spaced a nice distance apart. Saw some deer, beautiful sunset over the lake. Nice place to fish, paddle or just enjoy the outdoors. I would definitely come back if I am in the area.
Oct 25, 2022 · Deborah SchnitzlerVery beautiful, well maintained. Sites are far apart. Well shaded. Water access. Friendly staff
