Looking for a fantastic "camping near me" experience in the Copan, Oklahoma area? Washington Cove Park Campground, located at 396120, 10 Highway, Copan, OK 74022, USA, offers a delightful lakeside setting with a range of amenities and features that make it an attractive option for both tent and RV campers. With a phone number of (918) 532-4334 or mobile at +1 918-532-4334, reaching out for inquiries or reservations is convenient. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides a blend of natural beauty, convenient facilities, and recreational opportunities, making it a strong contender when searching for the perfect "camping near me" getaway.
The environment of Washington Cove Park Campground is a major highlight, with multiple reviewers emphasizing its proximity to the water. One camper at site 15 noted a trail right behind their site leading down to the water, where they enjoyed hours of swimming. Another reviewer mentioned having "almost 360 degree views of the water," underscoring the campground's prime lakefront location. This suggests that many campsites offer easy access to the water, making it ideal for swimming, fishing, and simply enjoying the scenic beauty of the lake. The campground's location next to a dock also adds to the appeal for those interested in boating and watching the activity on the water. While one review mentioned gravel pads for the campsites, the overall impression is one of a well-situated campground that maximizes its waterfront setting.
The services and features at Washington Cove Park Campground appear to cater to a variety of camping needs. For RV campers, at least some sites, like site 15, offer a 30 amp plug and other outlets for electrical connections. The availability of water connections seems to vary by site, but at least some are conveniently located, as highlighted by the camper who was pleasantly surprised by the proximity of their water hookup. Each pad site also includes handy amenities such as a table, grill, and prep area, making outdoor cooking and dining more convenient. For all campers, the availability of "clean bathrooms" and "hot showers" is a significant plus, contributing to a more comfortable camping experience. Additionally, the campground offers recreational features like a "playground for kids" and a "sand volleyball court," providing entertainment options for families and those looking for active leisure.
One of the standout features of Washington Cove Park Campground, as mentioned by a reviewer, is its peaceful atmosphere during the week. According to this camper, the campground "empties out a lot" during the week, making it an excellent choice for those who prefer a quiet and calm camping experience. This contrasts with the weekend, where another reviewer noted that some RV campers played music loudly on a Saturday night, suggesting that weekends might be more lively. The option to choose a quieter weekday stay could be a significant feature for those seeking tranquility in their "camping near me" destination.
Another notable feature is the campground's acceptance of the "America the Beautiful Golden Pass discount cards." This offers a direct financial benefit for pass holders, making Washington Cove Park Campground an even more attractive and affordable "camping near me" option for eligible individuals. The nightly rate mentioned in one review was $22, and the acceptance of the Golden Pass suggests that a discount would apply to this already reasonable price, further enhancing its value.
While the majority of the feedback is positive, one camper mentioned that the gravel campsites were not perfectly level, advising fellow travelers to come prepared for this. This is a practical piece of information for those planning to camp at Washington Cove Park Campground, particularly those with RVs who may need leveling blocks. Another minor issue raised was the inconsiderate use of bright LED strip lights by some RVers at night, which shone into a tent window. While this is more of a camper behavior issue than a campground flaw, it's something to be aware of and perhaps address respectfully with fellow campers if it occurs.
Considering the "camping near me" platform category, Washington Cove Park Campground offers a well-rounded experience with its lakefront location, access to water activities, essential amenities like clean bathrooms and hot showers, and recreational features for all ages. The availability of RV hookups (at least 30 amp) and the inclusion of tables, grills, and prep areas at campsites add to its convenience. The option for a quieter stay during the week and the acceptance of the Golden Pass discount further enhance its appeal to a wide range of local users.
For local users in the Copan, OK area and beyond, Washington Cove Park Campground presents a compelling choice for a lakeside camping getaway. The positive reviews highlight the enjoyable experiences of swimming, boating (with the nearby dock), and the overall beauty of the waterfront setting. The combination of natural attractions and practical amenities makes it suitable for both short weekend trips and longer stays. To get the most up-to-date information on site availability, specific hookup details for each site, and any current promotions or changes in rates, contacting the campground directly at (918) 532-4334 or +1 918-532-4334 is recommended. Exploring online booking platforms or local tourism websites might also provide additional insights and allow for reservations.
In conclusion, Washington Cove Park Campground is a highly recommended "camping near me" destination in Copan, OK, offering a picturesque lakefront environment with opportunities for swimming and boating. Its clean amenities, including bathrooms and hot showers, along with features like a playground and sand volleyball court, cater to a diverse range of campers. The availability of RV hookups on some sites and the acceptance of the America the Beautiful Golden Pass add to its appeal. While some campsites may require leveling, the overall positive experiences and the option for a tranquil weekday stay make Washington Cove Park Campground a prime choice for your next local camping adventure.

Washington Cove Park Campground Reviews
My husband and I stayed at site 15. I was a little nervous about the water connections being far away after some reviews, but ours was very close and so was all of the surrounding sites. For reference I took a pic and it shows our 50’ hose had tons of slack still. Our site had a 30 amp plug and also other outlets to plug things into. The pad site with a table, grill, and prep area were so handy. There’s also a trail right on the backside of this site leading down to the water where we spent hours swimming. The site isn’t perfectly level being gravel, but we travel prepared for that anyways. Overall it was a lot of fun. It’s next to the dock as well so watching the boats was exciting. If you like camping while it’s quiet and calm definitely come during the week because it empties out a lot. My only complaint is that some RVers use bright LED strip lights and don’t turn them off. It shined into our bed window all night. So glad we came here and we will be back!
Jun 25, 2022 · Carie HooverI had almost 360 degree views of the water. Pretty quiet most of week. Saturday night some RV campers were playing music pretty loud but its a nice campground with clean bathrooms, hot showers and a playground for kids. Also a sand volleyball court. $22 a night. They take the America the Beautiful Golden Pass discount cards.
Apr 22, 2022 · P BWe stayed at site 40 in a travel trailer. It is close to the water. It is also close to a water hookup and has a 30 amp electric hookup. It would be a good place to swim. We enjoyed the camp fire a couple nights. I had some good hikes with my little dog saw a ground hog and three deer.
May 15, 2021 · Dan FossoyCamping space #78. Camper door step at a terrible angle. This space is a pull thru. It's quite a ways to hydrant. There is a closer one but you have to run hose across road. Fire pit and picnic table Ares close and on camper door side. Not so with many on the lake edge.
Apr 06, 2018 · Lisa TownsleyStayed here the last 2 days. Absolutely clean and peaceful. Loved it. Only downfall was when I went to empty my tanks, the end of the hose for the water was cut off and couldn't connect to the rv to flush my tanks. Hope it gets fixed soon. I want to come back
