White Star Park Campgrounds Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the Gibsonburg, Ohio area? White Star Park Campgrounds, located at 910 S Main St, Gibsonburg, OH 43431, USA, offers a local camping experience that is praised for its cleanliness and security. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides a basic yet comfortable setting, particularly suitable for families and less experienced campers. You can reach them at (419) 334-4495 or +1 419-334-4495 for inquiries.
One of the most consistently highlighted aspects of White Star Park Campgrounds is its cleanliness. One reviewer noted it was "very clean," which was surprising given the apparent lack of on-site staff. This suggests that while there might not be constant staffing presence, the campground is well-maintained. For local users seeking "camping near me" where hygiene is a priority, this is a significant positive.
Security is another notable feature, with a reviewer mentioning that the "Sheriff department cruises the lot throughout the night." This added layer of security can provide peace of mind, especially for families with young children or those who are new to camping. If you're a local resident looking for "camping near me" where safety is emphasized, White Star Park Campgrounds appears to be a secure option.
The facilities at White Star Park Campgrounds include warm water, which was appreciated by one reviewer. The bathroom and shower setup was also positively mentioned. Campsites are described as "nice and level," which is crucial for comfortable tent or RV camping. Each site is equipped with a "nice table and fire pit" that is non-movable, along with 110/220 water hookups. This indicates that the campground caters to both RV and potentially tent campers, providing essential amenities at each site.
However, one reviewer pointed out that the campground is "very basic," suggesting that campers should bring their own entertainment. This implies that while the essential amenities are present, there might not be extensive recreational facilities on-site. For local users looking for "camping near me" that serves as a base for exploring the surrounding area or those who prefer a more self-sufficient camping experience, this might be suitable. However, if you're seeking a campground with organized activities, White Star Park Campgrounds might not fit that bill.
Another point to note is the shower experience, where one reviewer "hated having to push the button every 25 seconds to start the water." This is a minor inconvenience but something for local users to be aware of when considering the facilities. The same reviewer also mentioned that during their weekend stay, there was significant partying until 2 a.m. on Friday, although Saturday was quieter. This suggests that the atmosphere can vary depending on the weekend and the other campers present. If you're sensitive to noise, particularly late at night, this might be a consideration when choosing this "camping near me" option.
In summary, for local users seeking "camping near me," White Star Park Campgrounds offers:
- A very clean campground.
- A secure environment with regular sheriff patrols.
- Warm water and a well-regarded bathroom/shower setup (though with push-button showers).
- Nice and level camping areas.
- Individual sites with a non-movable table and fire pit.
- 110/220 water hookups at the sites.
Keep in mind that the campground is described as basic, so self-entertainment is recommended. Also, noise levels might be higher on weekend nights depending on other campers.
The combination of cleanliness, security, and basic amenities makes White Star Park Campgrounds a potentially attractive option for families and those new to camping who prioritize a safe and well-maintained environment. Local residents looking for a straightforward "camping near me" experience with essential hookups will likely find it suitable.
To get a better sense of the environment (e.g., shade, space between sites) and any specific rules or regulations, local users can contact White Star Park Campgrounds directly at the provided phone number. They can also inquire about any potential promotional offers or availability, especially during peak camping seasons.
In conclusion, if you're a local user searching for "camping near me" in Gibsonburg, OH, White Star Park Campgrounds offers a clean and secure base for your outdoor adventures. With level sites and essential amenities, it caters well to families and new campers. While it's a basic campground where you'll need to provide your own entertainment, the peace of mind from the cleanliness and security might make it a worthwhile choice for your next local camping trip. White Star Park Campgrounds Reviews
Very clean campground . Kinda surprised due to no staff anywhere to be found. No check in. No issues , Sheriff department cruises the lot throughout the night. Warm water is always nice and I like the bathroom/ shower set up. Secure and clean, very nice for a family with young ones or the not so seasoned camper. Nice and level camping area with a nice table and fire pit non movable. 110/220 water hook up
Sep 01, 2023 · Matt StumpThe restrooms and shower houses are clean. I just hated having to push the button every 25 seconds to start the water. The campground is very basic so make sure you have ways to entertain yourselves. The weekend we stayed the whole campground seemed to be partying until 2a.m on Friday (which did not bother us too much) Saturday wasn’t as bad. Overall it was a great little experience.
Aug 10, 2022 · Precious CombsAbsolutely love this campgrounds and have been a coming here for 3 years! Has fire wood for $5 a bundle. Sites are perfectly spaced. Great for tents and campers. Electric and water at every site. Rangers are also amazing. Great shower houses, hot water in the showers after they run once or twice. They are on a timer so you have to keep pressing the button for water. They have large rest rooms on both sides if the shower house.
May 08, 2022 · Morgain TaylorBasic campground experience. If you snag a spot on the culdesac, the sites are huge! The campground provides electricity and water, although the camp permit will tell you that it’s not recommended you use the water. The bathrooms were mostly clean but not the best. We stayed here because it was right across the street from the Quarry where there is a beach area, and you can scuba dive. The beach area is really nice, the water is clear. It is fairly small though and crowded at least on the weekend. The deeper section wasn’t as crowded. Be aware you cannot bring inflatables with you and that dogs are not allowed on the beach. The quarry is directly across the street from the campground and is a short walk. Overall, it was a good experience. There are no trash cans at all, even in the bathroom, so if your dog goes to the bathroom on your walk you will have to carry your bag around with you. Other than that it is a dog friendly campground. I am including a photo of the beach area, no one was in the water due to it being “break time”.
