Winklepleck Grove Campground Introduce
For local users in search of "camping near me," Winklepleck Grove Campground, situated at 2800 Winklepleck Rd NW, Sugarcreek, OH 44681, USA, offers a basic and quiet camping experience within a community setting. You can reach them at (330) 852-4112 or +1 330-852-4112 for inquiries and information. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground provides a no-frills camping option with some essential utilities but limited amenities.
Winklepleck Grove Campground appears to cater to those seeking a simple and peaceful camping environment. One reviewer who attended an RV rally noted the quiet atmosphere of the area, which can be a significant draw for campers looking to escape noise and enjoy tranquility. The campsites are described as grassy and generally level, which is a positive aspect for setting up tents or parking RVs. The presence of mature, well-groomed trees ("thick and well-groomed head") suggests a pleasant and possibly shaded environment, although the specific type and extent of tree cover are not detailed.
In terms of services and features, Winklepleck Grove Campground offers limited electrical hookups, with availability for both 20 and 30 amp service. This is crucial information for RV owners as it dictates the types of appliances they can run. A significant limitation is the absence of on-site toilets or bathrooms. This implies that campers relying on these facilities would need to be self-sufficient or make alternative arrangements. Additionally, the water supply is shared among the campsites, which is a common setup in some campgrounds but something to be aware of for water usage planning.
Another key piece of information regarding services is the lack of a dump station for RV waste. However, the campground facilitates waste management through a "Honey Wagon" service, which is available for a fee of $35 per pump out. This is a necessary consideration for RV campers, especially those planning longer stays. The availability of this service on-demand is a convenience, but the additional cost should be factored into the overall camping budget.
One reviewer described Winklepleck Grove Campground as a "nice community campground," suggesting a welcoming and possibly close-knit camping environment. The shared 15A hookup mentioned by another reviewer seems to contradict the 20 and 30 amp service noted by the RV rally attendee. This discrepancy might indicate different types of sites available or a change in electrical provision. It would be prudent for potential campers to clarify the specific electrical hookup available at their chosen site when making a reservation.
Considering the "camping near me" category, Winklepleck Grove Campground provides a basic option for those in the Sugarcreek, OH area who prioritize a quiet setting and are comfortable with limited amenities. It appears to be suitable for RVs requiring electrical hookups, although the amperage availability should be confirmed. Tent campers who are prepared with their own restroom facilities might also find this a peaceful location. The community aspect mentioned in one review could appeal to those seeking a friendly and perhaps more social camping experience, although the level of interaction would likely vary.
The provided information does not include any specific promotional details, discounts, or special offers. Local users interested in camping at Winklepleck Grove Campground should contact them directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about their rates, availability, and any specific policies or services they offer. It would be particularly important to ask about the electrical hookup at individual sites, the procedure for accessing shared water, and how to arrange for the Honey Wagon service if needed. Additionally, any information regarding the duration of stay limits or specific rules for campers would be beneficial.
In conclusion, Winklepleck Grove Campground offers a quiet and community-oriented camping experience near Sugarcreek, OH. Its grassy and relatively level campsites, coupled with the availability of 20 and 30 amp electrical service (though potentially with some 15A sites as well), make it suitable for some RVers. However, the absence of on-site toilets and bathrooms, the shared water supply, and the reliance on a paid Honey Wagon service for RV waste are significant factors to consider. Tent campers need to be fully self-contained regarding restroom facilities. For local users seeking a no-frills camping option in a peaceful environment, Winklepleck Grove Campground might be a viable choice, provided they are prepared for the limited amenities. Direct contact with the campground is recommended to clarify any uncertainties and to obtain the most current information on rates and services.

Winklepleck Grove Campground Reviews
I've been here for several days attending an RV rally. The camping facility is limited to 20 and 30 amp electric. No toilets or bathrooms. The head is thick and well groomed. Camp sites are grass and close to level. The area is quiet.
Jun 15, 2023 · Jim CennameNice community campground. We have a shared 15A hookup for each camp site. The water is shared. They're is no dump station but you can pay a Honey Wagon - $35 per pump out.
Sep 22, 2024 · Kevin ShortBeautiful grassy grounds with trees close to Sugarcreek. Has a covered pavillion for events and playground, but no bathhouse, WiFi, or water hookups. A pleasant place to stay if you can do without those things.
Oct 02, 2021 · Nancy LongworthWas there for an event and they had several campers to one site. I imagine one at a site would be really nice. Lots of trees and the grass is super lush. Sugarcreek is a cozy town.
