Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Pleasanton, California area, the Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park presents a unique option with a blend of established infrastructure and ongoing development. Situated at Road 12, 2100 Valley Ave, Pleasanton, CA 94566, USA, this RV park offers essential amenities and convenient access to the Alameda County Fairgrounds' diverse facilities. You can contact the park directly at (925) 426-3340 or +1 925-426-3340 for inquiries regarding site availability and booking information.
Based on recent customer feedback, the Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park appears to be in a state of transition. One reviewer noted a significant difference between an "old section" and a "new area next to the office." The new area is described positively, while the older section is characterized by RVs that seem to have been there for an extended period and appear "pretty rundown." This suggests that potential visitors may encounter varying levels of site quality depending on their placement within the park. It is advisable to inquire specifically about the location and condition of available sites when making a reservation.
Despite the concerns raised about the older section, the staff at the Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park received positive remarks for being "really nice and helpful." This positive interaction with staff can significantly enhance the overall experience, providing assistance with check-in, site information, and any issues that may arise during a stay. For those prioritizing helpful service when searching for "RV parks near me," this aspect of the Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park is noteworthy.
Essential amenities such as laundry facilities are available on-site. One reviewer mentioned that the laundry room is "ok" and appreciated the convenience of app-controlled, pay-as-you-go washers and dryers. This modern payment system adds a layer of convenience for residents managing their laundry needs. However, it's important to note a reported issue with a broken washer that had apparently been out of service for some time, indicating potential inconsistencies in the maintenance of these facilities.
More significant concerns were raised regarding the men's shower facilities. The description included terms like "disgusting," with mentions of "mold," "holes in the walls," and a missing showerhead. The absence of shower curtains further contributed to the negative experience, leading the reviewer to avoid using the facilities altogether. This feedback highlights a critical area needing improvement and suggests that potential visitors should inquire about the current condition of the shower facilities before their stay, especially if clean and well-maintained restrooms are a priority when choosing "RV parks near me."
On a more positive note, another reviewer described the RV park as "quiet and safe." This is a crucial aspect for many travelers seeking a peaceful and secure environment for their stay. The sense of safety and tranquility can significantly contribute to a positive overall experience, especially for those looking for a relaxing stop while on the road.
The Alameda County Fairgrounds are reported to be "nicely kept," suggesting that the overall grounds and surrounding areas are well-maintained. Additionally, the county is currently expanding the RV park, indicating an ongoing investment in improving and increasing the capacity of the facility. While the expansion is underway, the general store is temporarily closed. However, upon completion of the expansion, a "NEW general store will open," which will likely provide added convenience for residents, offering essential supplies and potentially other goods for sale within the RV park itself. This future amenity will be a significant addition for those looking for "RV parks near me" with on-site shopping options.
In terms of site amenities, the park offers water, sewer, and power hookups at the sites, with some sites providing 50 amp service. This is a standard and essential offering for most RV travelers, ensuring the basic utilities needed for a comfortable stay. The availability of 50 amp service is particularly beneficial for larger RVs with higher power demands.
Beyond the basic RV park amenities, a significant advantage of staying at the Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park is its location within the fairgrounds itself. This provides unique access to a variety of recreational and entertainment options. Guests can enjoy off-track betting, a driving range, and a 9-hole golf course, all located within the fairgrounds. For those interested in equestrian activities, there is also a horse racetrack on the premises. These diverse options offer ample opportunities for leisure and entertainment without having to travel far from the RV park, making it an appealing choice for visitors looking for "RV parks near me" with built-in recreational activities.
Dining options are also available within the fairgrounds, with the Clubhouse, Turf Club, and Cafe offering various culinary experiences. This convenience allows RV park guests to easily access meals and socialize without leaving the fairgrounds. The availability of these dining venues adds another layer of appeal for those seeking a well-rounded experience when choosing "RV parks near me."
Furthermore, the Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park offers a section for RV and boat storage located next to the new expansion. This is a valuable service for those who may need to store their recreational vehicles or boats either before or after their stay, providing a convenient and potentially secure storage solution in the same location.
In summary, the Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park presents a mixed picture based on recent reviews. While the staff is commended for their helpfulness and the park offers essential utilities, laundry facilities (with app-based payment), and a sense of safety, there are significant concerns regarding the condition of the older section and, particularly, the men's shower facilities. However, the ongoing expansion, the future addition of a new general store, and the unique access to the Alameda County Fairgrounds' diverse recreational and dining options, including golf, racing, and betting, make it a noteworthy option for those seeking "RV parks near me" in Pleasanton. Potential visitors should weigh these factors and perhaps inquire about the availability of sites in the newer section and the current status of the restroom facilities before making a reservation. The ongoing improvements suggest that the Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park has the potential to become an even more desirable destination in the future.

Alameda County Fairgrounds RV Park Reviews
This place really needs some work, in fact it’s a little scary. There is a new area next to the office that is really nice but as far as the old section, don’t think I’ll stay again. The rv s that are there seemed to have been there for a long long time and look pretty rundown. The office is nice but there are not a lot of things for sale on the shelves. The staff was really nice and helpful. The laundry room is ok, I do like the fact that the washers and dryers are controlled by an app where you can pay as well. One of the washers was broken and according to a “local” she said it’s been that way for awhile??? The men’s shower was disgusting! There was mold and holes in the walls and one shower head was missing. No shower curtains so disgusting there was not even a chance I’d go in there and catch something. If the entire park was like the new section and they fixed the bathrooms and showers it would be a really nice place. Oh yeah and maybe get rid of the old long time residents and only allow short stays.
Mar 23, 2025 · M HThis is a quiet and safe RV park. The Fairgrounds are nicely kept and the county is expanding the RV park right now, so the general store isn’t open at this time. Once expansion is completed, the NEW general store will open. Showers and laundry facilities are on site and water, sewer and power are at the sites, some sites with 50 amp service. There is a section for RV and boat storage next to the new expansion, also.Located in the Fairgrounds, there’s off-track betting, a driving range, 9-hole golf course and a horse racetrack. There’s dining available at the Clubhouse, Turf Club and Cafe, all located within the fairgrounds.
Sep 13, 2023 · Joyce McGovernWe stayed in the RV Park and it was Great!!! The staff was very accommodating as we had a situation with our RV and they were very understanding about it, which made us feel better about running late for check out. Thanks again for everything i can't wait to return.
Apr 25, 2025 · Julie RiveraThe concert was great, however the venue was a little disappointing. First we are not usually ones to complain, but there are things that were pretty clear on the web site, like no vehicles over 70 inches high in the VIP area. Trucks and tall Suv would need to be in the back so that others could see the stage or screens and hatch backs would have to be closed so people could see. However, that was not inforced so for some it made seeing any of the concert difficult. That said, We had a awesome time our space was perfect for 4 people, we brought dinner with us and lawn chairs it was a lovely evening and the opening band was really good also! Thank you for the opportunity, hope there will be more!
Oct 05, 2020 · lorri whittenburgNot their fault but I never made it inside because the lines were so long...maybe it is because they didn't have enough people to check bags or process sales fast enough...I didn't bothered to go in during Night q
