Buccaneer Estates Introduce
For local users searching for "rv parks near me" or information about mobile home communities in North Fort Myers, Florida, Buccaneer Estates, located at 2210 N Tamiami Trl E, presents a community with both positive aspects and significant concerns, according to recent online reviews. Potential residents and visitors should carefully consider these perspectives.
One reviewer who purchased a home in Buccaneer Estates in April reports a positive initial experience, stating they have had no problems with the manager and have met very nice people. This reviewer highlights the community's social aspects, mentioning weekly coffee and rolls, a spaghetti supper, and a monthly breakfast. They also express confidence in the future of the park, noting the recent election of a new board of directors and ongoing repairs from hurricane damage. Importantly, this review mentions a new park manager who started two weeks prior to their writing, expressing hope that previous negative reviews regarding management will become irrelevant.
In contrast, another, more detailed review from former residents paints a less favorable picture, primarily citing "poor" and "unapproachable" management with a lack of professional communication as the reason for their recent departure, along with many other residents. Despite finding the park "very beautiful" and the people "wonderful" with "great friends" made, the negative management experience outweighed these positives. A specific issue raised was a discrepancy between the park's rules, which reportedly allowed renting out homes for a couple of months a year for non-permanent residents, and the direct communication from someone named Jennifer, representing the management, who stated that short-term rentals were not permitted, contradicting the rule book. The former residents also recount being overcharged $1,800 on their water bill and the difficult, ultimately unsuccessful, process of disputing it. They advise future residents to diligently monitor their water bills, even when absent and with the water supposedly turned off. Furthermore, they mention six boiled water alerts and an equal number of water main breaks within their six months of residency, suggesting potential infrastructure issues. The reviewer concludes by expressing concern about the current manager's preparedness and hopes for more experienced staff to be hired for the benefit of the remaining residents.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Buccaneer Estates appears to have both appealing and concerning aspects. The park is described as "very beautiful" by one former resident, suggesting well-maintained aesthetics. The sense of community is highlighted by the social events mentioned in the positive review, such as coffee mornings and meals, and the friendliness of the residents noted by both reviewers. However, the infrastructure issues, specifically the frequent water main breaks and boiled water alerts, detract from the overall quality of the environment and raise concerns about reliability of essential services.
The services and features of Buccaneer Estates, as gleaned from the reviews, include:
- **Social Activities:** Coffee and rolls every Monday morning, spaghetti suppers, and monthly breakfasts indicate organized community events.
- **Management:** The reviews offer conflicting perspectives on management, with a change in manager occurring recently. Previous management is described as poor and unapproachable, while the impact of the new manager is yet to be fully assessed.
- **Water Service:** Available to residents, but with reported issues of overbilling and frequent disruptions leading to boiled water alerts and main breaks.
- **Rules Regarding Rentals:** The existence of a rule book allowing limited short-term rentals for non-permanent residents is mentioned, but this was reportedly contradicted by management.
- **Hurricane Damage Repair:** Efforts to fix damage from a hurricane are underway.
Other typical mobile home park amenities that are not explicitly mentioned but may be present include:
- Individual lots with utility hookups (electricity, water, sewer).
- Waste disposal services.
- Roads and lighting within the park.
- Potentially laundry facilities, recreational areas (like a clubhouse or pool), and pet-friendly areas, although these are not confirmed in the provided reviews.
No specific promotional information is mentioned in the reviews. Mobile home parks may offer incentives for new buyers or residents, but there is no indication of such offers at Buccaneer Estates in the provided text. Interested parties would need to contact the park directly to inquire about any current promotions.
For local users searching for "rv parks near me" in North Fort Myers, Buccaneer Estates presents a situation with potential. The sense of community and the beauty of the park, as noted by residents, are positive attributes. However, the significant concerns raised about past management practices and infrastructure issues, particularly with the water service, should not be overlooked. The recent change in management offers a glimmer of hope for improvement, but its impact remains to be seen.
Prospective residents or long-term RVers considering Buccaneer Estates should take the following steps:
- **Contact the park directly** using the provided phone number (888) 472-0728 or +1 888-472-0728 to inquire about current management policies, water service reliability, rules regarding rentals, lot fees, and any available amenities.
- **Ask specifically about the issues raised in the negative review**, such as the water billing discrepancies and the frequency of water disruptions, and what measures are being taken to address them.
- **Inquire about the new management's plans** for the park and how they intend to address past concerns.
- **If possible, speak with current residents** (beyond those who have posted online reviews) to get a broader sense of the current living conditions and management responsiveness.
- **Visit the park in person** to assess the beauty of the grounds and the overall environment. Pay attention to the infrastructure and any visible amenities.
North Fort Myers offers a convenient location with access to shopping, dining, and natural attractions. The appeal of Buccaneer Estates would depend on whether the positive community aspects outweigh the reported management and infrastructure challenges, and whether the new management can effectively address the concerns raised by former residents.
In conclusion, Buccaneer Estates in North Fort Myers offers a community with a friendly atmosphere and a visually appealing environment. However, potential residents and RVers must be aware of the serious concerns raised about past management practices and ongoing infrastructure issues, particularly with the water service. The recent change in management provides an opportunity for improvement, but thorough due diligence and direct inquiry with the park are strongly recommended to assess the current state and future prospects of Buccaneer Estates.

Buccaneer Estates Reviews
We bought here last April, we have not had any problems with the manager! We are meeting very nice people! Coffee and roles every Monday morning. Attended our spaghetti super, which was great, they have a wonderful breakfast served monthly! The new board of directors was just voted on, and I’m very confident that things will be very good in the future! Hurricane damage is getting fixed, I’m confident that this park will be great! The Park has new manager as of two weeks ago! Hopefully the reviews about bad management will be removed! Thanks
Apr 02, 2024 · Ron GeerdesThe park is very beautiful and the people that live there are wonderful. We met some great friends. Unfortunately, we just sold and moved out of the park because the management is so poor, so unapproachable and really do not know how to communicate professionally with other people. Most of the people leaving, and there are many, are leaving because of the poor management. We were told when we bought there and read the rules over and over, that you were permitted to rent out your home a couple of months a year if you didn't live there permanently. We rented our home out for January and February and then after speaking with Jennifer were told the exact opposite despite what the rule book says. I know many people that rent in the park, and I think it should be allowed, but Jennifer said, "this community does not allow short term rentals despite what the rule book says". We were also overcharged $1,800 on our water bill, but I won't go into the details here of what we went through to fight that (and lost). Be prepared to monitor your water bill every month, even when you aren't there, and your water is turned completely off. In six months of being a resident there, we had six boiled water alerts and just as many water main breaks. Jennifer is not prepared to handle this park and I hope for the residents and for the nice people that live there they get some educated and experienced staff on board in the near future.
Nov 02, 2023 · Cindy LewisThe property management is the worst I've ever seen. Jennifer should be fired! Extremely rude, no return calls, no help, yells at everyone. Quite honestly she is a bully! Threatens tenants there all the time. "GET A LAWYER". And in my opinion, I think it's elderly abuse what they are doing to the elderly there. Very disrespectful and constantly changing THE RULES. It's a living nightmare for the poor elderly who are on fixed incomes and being harassed like this and taking it's toll on the people there. Lot fees are constantly going up. It is not a gated secured community. Gates have been wide open for several years now. It's NOT a 55+ community. Crime going on there. The park itself needs to worry about fixing its own facilities, then harassing the elderly about their homes. I think they are screwing over most people there. Talking with the neighbors everyone is unhappy and have all had issues with this Jennifer person in the office. A horrible nightmare for my poor elderly parents. MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO FIRE JENNIFER and stop bullying tenants who have been there a long time. Personally, I think they are trying to push all the elder and older homes out of there, so they can make room for newer buildings and take advantage of confiscating their homes for financial reasons. A nightmare of a place. Stay away.
Mar 04, 2024 · Carol D'OnofrioThis place is trash I would never ever recommend this park to anybody. They say Amenities well the hot tub never works, Half the time the pools are not heated. Rules apply to some people and not others. Many trashy homes in here, one in particular on a main road. You have a community page where if you put your true feelings down, you got some people that are very snotty and rude to other residents not called for should be able to speak your mind. I have good neighbors, thank God, but not everybody is as polite. Management before was horrible right now there is temporary management. They are good and work with you, but the optimum word is temporary. Don’t know who’s not gonna get my hopes up. Rent is outrageous for you get. BHA is giving money From ELS not sure what they spend it on because every dinner they charge for and high price. They took away one of our amenities, which was an area for people who had boats or trailers to put in a brand new big area when they don’t even take care of the pre-existing area. Security is a 90-year-old lady that set up in her car at the front gate do not feel secure at all. They took away a guest parking lot for the new section being put in and if your guest park on the lawn or in the street, you get yelled at while your car gets tagged to towed. Don’t believe everything you read on here because you have someone telling people to put good reviews, which is not his business to do truth needs to be told. He is rude to resident on our page. I’m just saying, I would never ever recommend this part to anybody so make sure you do your homework before you move in. If I could give 0 stars, I would one is being generous. Buyer beware
Apr 21, 2024 · Deb CornellMy parents bought in buccaneer 11 years ago. Used to be gated and secure. Gates haven’t worked in almost 3 years now. When my father passed away, management harassed my family the morning of his funeral about where cars were parked as we were all there to escort my mother to her husbands funeral. They claim it is a 55 and over community, however I know for a fact that there are people with children renting in the park. They enforce rules for who they want to enforce rules for. Buccaneer estates is the worst mobile home “community” I have ever seen.
