Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Lanier Islands Introduce
For local users seeking "rv parks near me" for a memorable getaway on the shores of Lake Lanier, Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Lanier Islands, located at 7650 Lanier Islands Pkwy, Buford, GA 30518, offers a blend of recreational opportunities and essential amenities. Based on recent customer reviews, this resort appears to be a popular choice for families and those looking for a vibrant camping experience, although some considerations regarding long-term stays and transportation within the resort should be noted.
One reviewer described Camp Margaritaville RV Resort as a "nice camping spot" with a "friendly staff," highlighting its suitability for a "family trip." This positive initial impression suggests a welcoming atmosphere and a staff dedicated to ensuring a pleasant stay for families. However, this reviewer also pointed out a potential inconvenience for long-term workers, particularly those on night shifts, noting that lawn maintenance is conducted during the middle of the day, which could disrupt daytime sleep.
Another reviewer shared a personal experience of celebrating Father's Day and their birthday at the resort, marking their family's first RV trip to the area where they had childhood memories of camping in a tent across the lake. This nostalgic connection underscores the appeal of the location. The check-in process was noted as "pretty crazy" due to a large number of arrivals at the standard 2 pm check-in time, suggesting that peak arrival times can be quite busy, and patience might be required.
A significant piece of advice from this reviewer is that "having a golf cart is a must" for navigating the resort. While the resort was out of golf cart rentals during their visit, they were able to rent from an external company. This strongly suggests that the resort is expansive enough to warrant personal transportation, and availability of on-site rentals might be limited, especially during busy periods. The resort does offer a shuttle service, but it is noted that the shuttles do not have air conditioning, which could be a discomfort during warmer months.
Despite the transportation considerations, the reviewer expressed overall satisfaction with their stay. A notable highlight was the inclusion of "4 Fins Up passes per day," indicating access to Margaritaville's attractions and amenities within Lanier Islands. The bathrooms were praised as "super clean," a significant factor for comfort and hygiene. Additionally, the availability of "Game Changers" as a place to escape the heat was appreciated, suggesting indoor recreational or dining options within the resort.
A unique feature mentioned was a golf cart service that came around from 4 pm to 10 pm selling adult beverages, with "Eddie & Wanda" identified as favorite golf cart bartenders. This adds a fun and convenient element to the resort experience. While the reviewer expressed a desire for a pool specifically for the camping community, their overall sentiment was positive, stating they "would love to come back."

Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Lanier Islands Reviews
Nice camping spot and friendly staff. Great place to stay on a family trip. However if you are here for long term work please be advised that the lawns are done in the middle of the day. For night shift not easy to sleep.
Apr 26, 2025 · Melissa GarnerI grew up across the lake at Shoals Creek in a tent. It was bitter sweet to take my family in our RV for the first time celebrating Father's Day and my birthday. Check-in seemed pretty crazy when everyone showed up at 2 pm to check in.Let me start by saying that having a golf cart is a must, but they were out, so we did have the opritunity to rent from another golf cart company. There is a shuttle, but they do not have air-condition. I wish there was a pool for the camping community. I am happy we learned the area when we first got there. I love that we received 4 Fins Up passes per day. The bathrooms were super clean. It was nice having Game Changers to get out of the heat. There was a golf cart that came around from 4pm-10pm selling adult beverages. Eddie & Wanda were my favorite golf cart bartenders. Overall, we would love to come back.
Jun 22, 2024 · thenanny “thenannyjam” jamWe've stayed at the Margaritaville RV resort at Lanier Island several times. It's clean and well maintained. Our last trip here was the week of July 4th. Site 98. It was a great site and quite private compared to others. However, I don't think I'll stay on a holiday week again. As our site overlooked the lake, on the 4th, we had lots of people walking in our site area to survey the lake. You can have dinner delivered to your site from one of the restaurants if desired. They also have a margarita cart that comes around every evening. And recently they've added a Game building with lots of activities and a bar and dinner. It reminds me of a Dave& Buster's. The Cobb salad was amazing. And they offer Bingo some days of the week as well.Plenty of activities to do in the park, including a water park, Beach area, gaming activities, and just nature in general.Depending on your site and time of year, the price varies from about $75 to $200. They also have little cabins for rent. The sun sets here are beautiful.
Aug 26, 2024 · Samantha FreemanWow, what a great RV park. We were here in the off season, March, so many sites were open but in our opinion after checking out all the sites the gravel sites off Seaplane Drive are the most spacious with beautifully views of the lakes! Very quiet this time of year. The Game Changer game room & bar/restaurant were great, we went all 3 nights we were there playing bingo and trivia games along with the numerious games of chance! There are miles of paved roads and sidewalks for bike riding or hiking with beautifull lake views all over. The summer time water park looks great also!
Mar 25, 2024 · David ButtonGlamping tent review and campground- the glamping tent was very nice! It's a 2 bedroom tent with a bathroom and has an AC, and a little kitchen and table, canvas walls & ceiling outside. The views and deck were the best part though! Amazing!! Could have sat out there all day! Loved watching the boats in the morning with my coffee, and relaxing out there in the evening with the sunset view!Another Pro- pretty close to a beach where we put in our kayaks and hung out all day.Tip- Rent or bring a golf cart! It's pretty spread out. There are not Any amenities here yet unless you want to go to the huge water park. Worth it to rent one! A sign did say pool and other amenities coming in 2024.Cons - it's really close to the other glamping tent (there are only 2 now). It's not that the neighbors were exceptionally loud, but we could hear everything- baby crying at 6 am, coughing during the night, every word of them hanging out on their deck late into the night. We also had a very loud raccoon (we think it was a raccoon?) Scratching and digging on the ceiling early one morning! A little nervous that it was going to come through the ceiling!Over all a fun time though! The older section with the 150s & 160s and the cabins and glamping tents, is really nice. The newer section seemed really cramped and many of them didn't have a view. But to stay here in your camper and bring your boat and wave runner and toys, could be a great spot since it's close to Holiday boat marina. Also, the beverage cart girls were super nice!! Yummy drinks for parents and Shirley temples for the kids!Happy Camping!
