Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park Introduce
Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park, located at 8816 W 137th Ave, Cedar Lake, IN 46303, USA, offers a unique and activity-filled experience for those searching for 'RV parks near me' in the Cedar Lake area of Indiana. Situated near Cedar Lake, this RV park appears to be associated with Cedar Lake Ministries, suggesting a family-friendly and potentially faith-based environment. Based on customer reviews, it provides a beautiful setting with a wide range of recreational opportunities, making it an attractive destination for RV travelers seeking more than just a place to park.
The environment of Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park is described as "beautiful" by one enthusiastic visitor. Its proximity to Cedar Lake itself suggests that water-based activities are a significant draw. The review explicitly mentions "sailing" and "kayaking," indicating direct access to or convenient facilities for enjoying the lake. This makes it an ideal choice for RV enthusiasts who also enjoy spending time on the water. The presence of these activities distinguishes it from more basic RV parks that primarily offer utility hookups and parking spaces.
Beyond water sports, Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park boasts a variety of other recreational features. The same reviewer highlighted "bike riding," "pickle ball," and "corn hole" as available activities. This diverse range of options caters to different interests and age groups, making it a potentially excellent choice for families or groups traveling together. The inclusion of sports like pickle ball, which is growing in popularity, adds a unique appeal. The availability of bike riding suggests that the surrounding area is conducive to cycling, further enhancing the outdoor experience.
In terms of services and features, the positive review indicates that the overall experience was excellent. The friendliness of the people at the park was specifically mentioned ("everyone was so friendly"), contributing to a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. This social aspect can be a significant factor for RV travelers looking for a sense of community during their stay. The reviewer also noted that "the rates were perfect," suggesting that the park offers good value for the amenities and experience provided.
However, another customer review provides some points of consideration. While they have stayed at Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park three times and found it "good each time," they did have two specific complaints. The first concern was the temperature setting in the bathrooms, which was reportedly set at 60 degrees Fahrenheit, leading to "cold showers." This is a practical comfort issue that potential visitors might want to be aware of, especially during cooler seasons. The second complaint was "the need for a ton of paper signs telling people what not to do." While the intention behind such signs is likely to ensure park rules are followed and maintain a pleasant environment for all guests, an excessive number of them could potentially detract from the overall aesthetic and feeling of relaxation.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall sentiment from the reviews is positive, particularly regarding the recreational activities and the friendly atmosphere. Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park appears to offer a more comprehensive experience than just basic RV parking, with a focus on outdoor fun and community engagement. The combination of lake activities, sports, and a welcoming environment makes it a compelling option for those searching for 'RV parks near me' that provide opportunities for active recreation and relaxation.

In conclusion, Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park offers a beautiful environment near Cedar Lake, Indiana, with a strong emphasis on outdoor activities such as camping, sailing, kayaking, bike riding, pickle ball, and corn hole. The friendly atmosphere and reasonable rates, as highlighted by one reviewer, make it an attractive option for those seeking 'RV parks near me' that provide more than just a place to park. While one reviewer noted cold bathroom temperatures and an abundance of signs, the overall positive feedback, particularly regarding the recreational opportunities and friendly community, suggests a worthwhile destination for RV enthusiasts looking for an active and engaging getaway in the Cedar Lake area.

Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park Reviews
Loved it! We went camping, sailing, kayaking, bike riding, and played pickle ball and corn hole. The place was beautiful and everyone was so friendly. The rates were perfect. We will be back!
Jul 23, 2023 · Tammy EdwardsWe have stayed here 3 times now. Been good each time. My only complaint is temp set at 60 in the bathrooms makes for cold showers and the need for a ton of paper signs telling people what not to do.
Apr 28, 2022 · Matt sDecent place, lots of running room for children. Nothing super fancy but very nice!
Mar 28, 2025 · Craig TimmerWOW!! We were in town for our daughters 10u travel softball team, exactly 1.7 miles away from the park, We were very skeptical on staying here per other reviews but this place is amazing!!! Friendly yearly spot owners, lots of activities for youth, we were able to snag a last minute full hook up- our friends were not but we made it work :) Beautiful grounds, CLEAN bathrooms/ showers - awesome trails to walk - lake is walking distance, WIFI for our smart TVs, the Ministries has a HUGE campus and the campgrounds are near the end of it (almost out of sight out of mind). If/when she plays in the crown point area again we will definitely be back! **Pic is the sunrise Sunday from the campgrounds!
Apr 29, 2019 · Michelle LoweryEnjoyed our stay at Cedar Lake Ministries RV Park very much. The park is small about 30 or so sites. Most all sites are a good size and pretty level. Didnt use the bathhouse so i cannot comment on that. There is a commuter train that runs by several times a day/night but you get used to it. Overall it is very quiet. There are wonderful nature trails off the large field and a short walk to the main buildings and lake as well. Everyone was pleasant and very friendly from guests to staff. I would give it 5 stars if they had a better booking method. Wanted to extend but they had a person coming in for 1 night in our site on Wednesday and another person staying 1 night in a different site and different night. They wouldnt combine those reservations on one site or the other. Both were the same size, etc. They would have made more money by combining the two reservations and adding ours but they don't do that sort of thing. The RV park gets very little attention compared to the rest of the facility grounds. The workers "cutting through" the park with their large trucks was annoying seeing how the sign says not a cut through. They are to lazy to drive around the corner to get back to their maintenance building. The smoking rules are not respected. Seeing the long term guests breaking them was upsetting and giving the park a bad reputation. We were happy to find someplace that was smoking free and they had to go and ruin a great thing. Overall we enjoyed our time visiting family in the area and would absolutely stay again. Already planning our trip next year.
