When choosing an RV park, local users often consider factors such as safety, cleanliness, amenities, the surrounding environment, and the overall management. The provided customer reviews for Crossroads RV Park & Propane Refill offer contrasting perspectives on these aspects, which are important for potential residents to evaluate.
One review offers a highly positive assessment, describing Crossroads RV Park as "one of the most safest and secure parks I have been in." The reviewer specifically appreciates the security measures, noting the use of a security code for entering the bathrooms and showers, which are reportedly kept clean. The staff is praised for being "incredibly helpful and friendly," and the grounds are described as clean and well-maintained with regular mowing. While acknowledging that the park is located near a busy highway (US-75), the reviewer notes that the traffic noise diminishes at night, with a quiet time enforced at 10 p.m., contributing to a peaceful environment. Importantly, this reviewer states that they have not observed any issues with theft or drugs, further reinforcing the sense of safety and security. The park's location in a rural setting, overlooking hills and countryside, is highlighted as a significant advantage, along with its proximity to three lakes. Recreational features mentioned include a "beautiful" walking path with a fishing pond, as well as a basketball area and a swings play area for children. This positive review concludes by recommending Crossroads RV Park for both short-term and long-term stays.
In stark contrast, the second review expresses a significant concern regarding maintenance and accessibility during the winter months. This reviewer claims that "absolutely no maintenance" is done in the park and strongly advises against planning to live there if one needs to take children to school or commute to work during the winter. The most critical point raised is that residents "cannot exit or enter the park the whole month of January," urging potential long-term residents to "make sure you plan accordingly." This is a severe restriction that would significantly impact the daily lives of residents who need to leave the park for any reason during that period.
Considering these two reviews, local users searching for "RV parks near me" will need to weigh the reported positives against the serious limitation described. The positive review highlights a safe, clean, and well-managed environment with appealing recreational features and a pleasant rural setting near lakes. The negative review, however, raises a critical issue regarding accessibility during January and suggests a lack of maintenance, which could impact the quality of life for long-term residents.
To provide a more detailed introduction to Crossroads RV Park & Propane Refill for local users, it's important to consider the typical services and features offered by RV parks and how they might apply here, based on the available information and general expectations:
- Safety and Security: The positive review explicitly mentions the park's safety and security, including a security code for the restrooms and showers, and the absence of reported theft or drug issues. This is a significant positive aspect for potential residents.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: While one review praises the clean bathrooms and well-maintained grounds, the other claims "absolutely no maintenance" is done. This discrepancy suggests a potential inconsistency or a difference in the reviewers' experiences or expectations. Prospective residents should inquire specifically about maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Restroom and Shower Facilities: The availability of bathrooms and showers is confirmed, with one reviewer noting their cleanliness and security. The number of facilities and their overall condition beyond cleanliness are not detailed.
- Recreational Amenities: The park offers a walking path, a fishing pond, a basketball area, and a children's play area with swings, as mentioned in the positive review. These are valuable amenities, especially for families and those seeking outdoor activities. The proximity to three lakes also suggests opportunities for water-based recreation.
- Location and Environment: The rural setting with views of hills and countryside is appealing for those seeking a peaceful environment. The proximity to US-75 means easy access but also potential highway noise, although one reviewer indicates this subsides at night.
- Quiet Time: The enforcement of a 10 p.m. quiet time suggests a commitment to ensuring a peaceful environment for all residents.
- Propane Refill Service: The park's name includes "Propane Refill," indicating that this is an available service. This can be a significant convenience for RV owners and local residents in general. Details about pricing and hours for this service are not provided.
- Accessibility: The severe restriction on entering or exiting the park during the entire month of January, as reported in one review, is a critical factor for anyone considering a long-term stay, especially those with work, school, or medical commitments outside the park. This limitation needs to be thoroughly understood and verified.
- Hookups and Site Information: The reviews do not provide details about the types of RV hookups available (water, electricity, sewer), the size and layout of the sites (e.g., pull-through, back-in), or the surface of the parking areas. This information is essential for RV owners to determine if the park can accommodate their needs.
- Wi-Fi and Laundry Facilities: Information regarding the availability of Wi-Fi and laundry facilities is not provided in the reviews.
- Pet Policies: The reviews do not mention any pet policies, such as whether pets are allowed, any size or breed restrictions, or the availability of pet-friendly areas.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Lyndon, KS, Crossroads RV Park & Propane Refill presents a complex picture. The positive aspects of safety, cleanliness (as reported by one reviewer), friendly staff, recreational amenities, and the availability of propane refill are attractive. However, the serious concern about being unable to enter or exit the park for the entire month of January, coupled with the claim of no maintenance, raises significant red flags, particularly for long-term residents. Short-term visitors might be less affected by the January access issue but would still want to understand the maintenance situation and the availability of essential hookups.
Therefore, local users considering Crossroads RV Park & Propane Refill are strongly advised to:
- Contact the management directly: Inquire specifically about the park's policies regarding access during January, maintenance procedures, the types of RV hookups available, Wi-Fi and laundry facilities, pet policies, and the pricing for RV sites and propane refills. Clarify the discrepancy in the maintenance reports from the two reviews.
- Seek further clarification on the January access restriction: Understand the reasons behind this restriction and any potential exceptions or emergency procedures in place.
- If considering a long-term stay, try to speak with current residents: Their firsthand experiences, particularly regarding maintenance and the January access limitation, would be invaluable.
- For short-term stays, inquire about site suitability for your RV: Ensure they have sites with the necessary hookups and that the parking surface is appropriate for your vehicle.
In conclusion, Crossroads RV Park & Propane Refill offers some appealing features, including a sense of security and a pleasant environment with recreational options. The availability of propane refill is also a convenient service. However, the reported lack of maintenance and, most notably, the alleged complete restriction on entering or exiting the park during January are critical issues that potential residents must thoroughly investigate and consider before making a decision. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should weigh these factors carefully against their individual needs and circumstances.

Crossroads RV Park & Propane Refill Reviews
One of the most safest and secure parks I have been in. Bathrooms and showers are kept clean, with a security code to enter, which I appreciate! The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly! They keep the grounds clean, and mowed. The highway is busy, but at night slows down. Quiet time is at 10 p.m. so no loud parties. Haven't seen any problems with theft or drugs. Like I said, it's out in the country, over looking hills and country side. Really close to 3 lakes. I have used the walking path, it's beautiful with a fishing pond. There's basketball area and swings play area for kids! This is a wonderful place to stay, short or long term!
Apr 11, 2024 · puppy whispersAbsolutely no maintenance done in park. Don’t plan on having kids to take to school or a job to go to in the winter if you want to live here. You cannot exit or enter the park the whole month of January so make sure you plan accordingly
Jan 19, 2024 · Loreal TuckerFirst, this is listed as an Escapees discount park, which it's not. I don't see that as the fault of Crossroads, though, as they did quit membership 10 years ago when the current owners bought it.$36 with Good Sam discount is still high, given that the restrooms are broken. This is basically a park for long-term RVers. It needs work, is rather crowded and noisy next to the highway. There is a walking path (looks like maybe a Rails to Trails) just a short walk away that we didn't have time to take advantage of.
Mar 15, 2024 · Jennifer SkiptonIf I could give it 10 stars I would! Wonderful family owned RV park with super nice people. Has everything you could ever want, pull through sites, shower, bathroom, laundry area and propane refill. It’s about a mile from Lyndon and 20 min from Topeka so you’re in the perfect spot. Will definitely be staying there if we make our way in that area again. No issues whatsoever. If you’re a pipeline family definitely stay here. Highly recommend
