Cypress Campground & RV Park Introduce
Local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Winter Haven, Florida area should carefully review the recent feedback regarding Cypress Campground & RV Park, located at 7400 Cypress Gardens Blvd, Winter Haven, FL 33884, USA. While one reviewer expresses satisfaction and plans to return, others detail significant concerns about the park's management, rule enforcement, maintenance, and overall atmosphere. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on these contrasting experiences. For direct inquiries, the park can be reached at (863) 324-7400 or +1 863-324-7400.
Mixed Experiences: Initial Positives vs. Recent Deterioration:
One reviewer recounted a positive initial experience at Cypress Campground & RV Park in 2021, highlighting it as a great first experience as "snowbirds." However, their subsequent experiences over four years revealed a decline in the park's quality and atmosphere. They noted a shift in the type of clientele, with the departure of "good snowbirds" being followed by the arrival of individuals whose behavior significantly detracted from the park's environment.
In contrast, another reviewer, in their second winter at the park, expressed strong satisfaction and has already booked for the following year. They praised the "friendly people" who made them feel at home and commended the "great" and "very helpful" staff, recommending the park to family and friends. This stark contrast in recent experiences suggests that the park may offer a positive experience for some while presenting significant issues for others.
Serious Concerns Regarding Atmosphere and Rule Enforcement:
The reviewer with multiple years of experience detailed a concerning deterioration of the social atmosphere, particularly around the recreation hall events. What was once a "discreet drinking scene" reportedly devolved into a "drunk festival" with excessive consumption of hard liquor and inappropriate behavior becoming the norm. Specific examples included public intoxication and lewd conduct, even in the presence of management who allegedly did not intervene. This raises serious questions about the park's tolerance for disruptive behavior and its commitment to maintaining a family-friendly environment.
Furthermore, this reviewer highlighted a lack of rule enforcement in other areas. They mentioned the open use of golf carts as "mobile bars" and the prevalence of "pot and medicinal pot smokers" throughout the campground, with the smell of marijuana being a "multiple daily event." These issues suggest a breakdown in the enforcement of park rules and a potential disregard for the comfort and preferences of all guests.
Problems with Amenities: Pool and Laundry Facilities:
The pool, a key amenity in Florida RV parks, also appears to be a source of conflict and dissatisfaction. The reviewer described how a group of volleyball players, referred to as "Bullyball" by some children, frequently took over the shallow end of the pool, even when it was not scheduled, hindering other guests' ability to swim. Despite repeated occurrences over several years, management allegedly did nothing to resolve this issue, leading to "awkward moments" and ultimately causing many campers to leave the park due to the pool being consistently overrun during peak times.
The laundry facilities were also heavily criticized. Despite price increases, many machines were reported to be malfunctioning, with issues including frying clothes, not rinsing soap properly, and a lack of cold water. This indicates poor maintenance of essential amenities and a potential lack of value for the increased cost.
Deterioration of Park Conditions and Infrastructure:
Both long-term reviewers noted a decline in the overall condition of the park. One stated that "all the pictures you see are a far cry from the true reality and the condition of park today there are old outdated photos." They described dead grass, broken-up pads and patios, and constantly overflowing dumpsters due to an insufficient number for the park's capacity. These observations suggest a lack of investment in maintenance and upkeep, leading to a less appealing and potentially less functional environment for guests.
The reviewer also pointed out a contradiction between the rising rates (an increase of $1500 per season over their time) and the evident need for "serious work" throughout the park. They concluded that there appears to be "little direction by Management to lead its employees and organize a schedule of maintenance as well as impose the rules," which likely contributes to the various issues observed.
Implications for Potential "RV Parks Near Me" Seekers:
Local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Winter Haven should carefully consider these contrasting reviews of Cypress Campground & RV Park. While some individuals may find the atmosphere friendly and the staff helpful, there are significant and concerning reports of a deteriorating social environment, poor rule enforcement, problematic pool access, poorly maintained laundry facilities, and a general decline in the park's physical condition. The alleged inaction of management in addressing these issues is particularly troubling.
Potential guests should weigh the positive experience of one reviewer against the detailed and negative experiences of another who witnessed a multi-year decline. If considering this park, it would be prudent to inquire specifically about the current state of rule enforcement, pool scheduling and access, laundry facilities, grounds maintenance, and management's plans to address the concerns raised in these reviews. Visiting the park in person to assess the current conditions and atmosphere would also be highly advisable.

Individuals interested in staying at Cypress Campground & RV Park should contact the management directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about site availability, rates, amenities, and park rules. Given the discrepancies in the reviews, it would be wise to ask detailed questions about the issues raised, particularly regarding pool access, rule enforcement (especially concerning noise and alcohol consumption), and the condition of the facilities.
Conclusion:
Cypress Campground & RV Park in Winter Haven, Florida, presents a complex and potentially concerning picture for prospective guests. While one recent experience was positive, another detailed a significant decline in the park's atmosphere, rule enforcement, and maintenance over several years. The serious allegations regarding disruptive behavior, mismanagement of amenities like the pool and laundry, and the deterioration of the physical grounds should give potential visitors pause. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" are advised to carefully consider these issues, ask pointed questions of the management, and ideally visit the park to form their own assessment before making a reservation. The significant discrepancies in recent reviews suggest a lack of consistency in the guest experience, making thorough due diligence essential.

Cypress Campground & RV Park Reviews
Let’s start by saying we were excited the first year we went to this campground back in 2021. It was our first experience at being a snowbird and we had a great time. However as each year passed and our fourth year came to an end for our 6/6 agreement the campground had lost its identity and an under current could be felt which lead to our reduced enjoyment, pleasure and clicks were a major part. As the park lost their good snowbirds they were replaced with a whole different type of person. The rec hall where many events are held turned from a discreet drinking scene to a drunk festival as every event was replaced with 40 oz bottles, moonshine, Jell-O shots and pudding shots leading to a quick deterioration. Watching a married women basically sitting on men laps feeding them shots was the new norm. During our last event a hillbilly theme party one person thought it would be cool to drop his pants three times and no one said anything even with management there. Frankly yes he had a bathing suit but seriously show some class it’s a family park not an adult club. The same person danced with a women who basically lost her pants to her ankles, It’s a shame a respectful park became this and most left events by 7 or 8 pm due to situations. In addition it you like the pool for swimming good luck the volleyball people called Bullyball by some young children took over the pool’s shallow end even when it was not scheduled they pushed their way into the pool setting up their net. This went on for a few years and resulted in several awkward moments at the pool in which management did nothing they allowed it to continue however this year was absolutely out of control. This caused many campers to leave the park as the pool kept being overrun during the prime time 3 pm even if it was not scheduled. By end March push back began and people intentionally loaded up the pool blocking the volleyball players when they tried to start a game during non scheduled times. The Landry areas are a joke they raised the price despite many machines not operating correctly including frying your clothes, not rinsing soap, no cold water only hot water. The washrooms in general are in a desperate need for a full gut and renovation. They are often dirty and not presentable for use.All the pictures you see are a far cry from the true reality and the condition of park today there are old outdated photos. Most of the grass is dead or killed off, most pads are all broken up this includes both the pad and patios. The dumpsters are constantly overflowing as 2 is not enough for the amount of lots, in addition there are rules however these rules are not enforced or for all. This includes drinking and driving golf carts there is even 1 golf cart that is literally a mobile bar. Evidently pot and medicinal pot smokers are a criteria at this campground as no matter where you are If you enjoy the smell of pot it is a multiple daily event this has degraded yearly. It is a shame that this park in a wonderful location has raised it rates $1500.00 per season over our time yet needs serious work. It appears that there is little direction by Management to lead its employees and organize a schedule of maintenance as well as impose the rules
Apr 22, 2025 · Wayne LatterThis is my second winter in this RV park. I booked for next year. I am so happy I booked for next year. I've seen a lot of parks. This one has friendly people who made me feel at home. The staff has been great. The staff has been very helpful. Would recommend this park to my family and friends.
Apr 22, 2025 · Dalen BoucherWe are at the end of our second winter here and have loved every minute! Many of the sites are seasonal, retired folks, but there are plenty of short term campers as well. There are alot of activities: heated pool, mini golf, bocce court, pickleball. Inside they have ping-pong, shuffleboard and a pool table for rainy days as well as a multitude f books, games and puzzles. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The maintenance crew takes good care of the park and requests are responded to quickly. We plan to stay again next season.
Apr 28, 2025 · Kathy MajkaAfter giving length of motorhome, number of slide outs and pictures we arrived to be assigned a site for a 40 ft. motorhome, not a 45 ft. as we specified. We were guided into the site to clear the slide with the power post by neighbors. When we was in, about 2 feet from clearing the power post, we sunk in up to the axles. We sat there for 4 days. Kelli, the Office Manager, told us "she was not driving and she did not get it stuck". She told us it was not the campgrounds responsibility. We would have to get it out.We could not get our 2 front slides or steps out for 4 days. We called a man the Office recommended. He came and said it would be a big job.In the meantime we went out to breakfast on the 5th day and stopped by Lowe's and bought 2X 10s to put under the wheels to try and get out. When we got back to the campground, maintenance had dug the wheels out and put wood under them. We got out after 3 trys. We couldn't take the lumber back to Lowe's because it had been cut.Maintenance helped us unhook and hook back up at the new site. Very helpful after 4 wasted, frustrating days of our vacation.Cypress Campground management should have done better. Pages of rules to sign. RIULES for thee and not for me I guess.
Apr 05, 2025 · mary darnellFirst of all I can read, I don't need the host to read me 5 pages of rules, threaten with a $50 speeding fine etc. The campers are mostly friendly like in all snowbird parks in FL. Management has way to many rules to threaten you with. The park itself is older, mostly kept up ok but it's difficult to maneuver a 36 ft RV in a park designed for 24 ft RVs with few or no slides. If you have an awning slide it will probably overhang your neighbors site. The back of the park has a waste problem and a sewage smell. The kids liked the pool. Overall, I've stayed in better and worse parks.
