Based on the available customer reviews, Duneaway Park is a smaller, more casual park known for its welcoming atmosphere and convenient location for dune adventures.
The environment at Duneaway Park is described as both "ok" and "clean and quiet but yet very casual" in the provided reviews. While one reviewer noted its small size, they also acknowledged its inherent charm. The park is situated to provide great access to the dunes, making it an ideal basecamp for off-road vehicle enthusiasts and those looking to explore this unique natural landscape. The surrounding area is not detailed, but the focus is clearly on the park's proximity to the dunes.
In terms of services, Duneaway Park offers basic but essential hookups for RVs, including water and power. It is important to note that sewage hookups are not available at this park, which is a crucial consideration for RVers planning their stay. Despite the limited hookups, the park does provide a shower and restroom facility, although these are described as being made out of a shed. Additionally, there is only one shower available for the entire park, which might lead to wait times depending on occupancy. The park is highlighted as being both kid and dog-friendly, suggesting a welcoming environment for families and pet owners.
A significant feature of Duneaway Park is the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of the park host. This positive interaction is mentioned in both reviews, indicating a consistent and welcoming management presence. One reviewer specifically named Jay and LaDonna as "fantastic hosts" who made their group (two families) feel at home, like family. This level of hospitality seems to be a key aspect of the Duneaway Park experience, making it a place where guests feel comfortable and well-cared for.
Another feature to consider is the layout of the campsites, which are noted as being "super close together." This might be a drawback for those seeking more privacy or space between their RVs. However, the positive atmosphere and the focus on dune access might outweigh this for many visitors. The park is also described as pretty quiet, which could be appealing to those looking for a more peaceful camping experience, especially after a day of dune activities.
The primary draw of Duneaway Park is undoubtedly its great access to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. This allows guests to easily engage in activities such as off-roading, hiking, sandboarding, and exploring the unique coastal dune ecosystem. The park's kid and dog-friendly policy further enhances its appeal to families and pet owners looking to enjoy the dunes together.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Duneaway Park based on the provided customer reviews. The focus of the feedback is on the park's atmosphere, hosts, and access to the dunes rather than any special offers or discounts. Local users interested in learning about potential rates, availability, or any seasonal promotions would need to contact the park directly.
In conclusion, Duneaway Park offers a unique RV camping experience near North Bend, Oregon, primarily due to its exceptional access to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and the consistently praised friendliness of its park host. While the park is small and offers basic RV hookups (water and power only, no sewage) and has limited shower facilities in a shed-like structure, its charm, quiet environment, and kid and dog-friendly policies make it an attractive option for certain types of travelers. The close proximity of campsites is a factor to consider for those valuing more space. However, the warm welcome from the hosts and the unparalleled access to the dunes seem to create a positive and memorable experience for many visitors, with at least one group indicating that Duneaway Park will be their first choice for future stays in the area. Duneaway Park Reviews
It was a ok park. The park host was very friendly and helpful. This park is small but has it's charm. Water hookups and power. No Sewage hookup. Great access to the dunes. Kid and dog friendly park. Camp sites are super close together. They do have a shower it's made out of shed and same with the restroom. There is only one shower. The park is pretty quiet.
Jul 18, 2022 · JessIn July '24 we our group (2 families) had the pleasure of staying at Duneaway. The park clean and quiet but yet very casual. Other guests were friendly and Jay and LaDonna were fantastic hosts and made us feel at home like family. We've stayed at other places but from in the future Duneaway will always be our first choice. Looking forward to staying again.

Picnic tables, fire rings, wood and garbage cans at each site. Cool, rustic shower and new one with bathroom.
