DV and D RV Park Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" in the Reserve, Louisiana area, DV and D RV Park, located at 3435 W Airline Hwy, Reserve, LA 70084, USA, presents itself as a potential option. However, the available customer reviews offer contrasting experiences, highlighting the importance of considering multiple perspectives when evaluating this campground. One review expresses significant dissatisfaction, while another provides a long-term positive assessment.
One reviewer recounts a highly negative experience during their first month at DV and D RV Park, stating emphatically, "DONT STAY HERE . It was my First month here and last ." This strong condemnation is primarily directed at the owner, described as "a grump." The reviewer details a disagreement regarding rent payment, stating they were informed rent was due the following day and offered to pay in cash (noting the cash-only policy as "probably illegal"). However, the owner allegedly approached their camper the next morning, claiming rent was due a few days prior and imposing a $10 per day late fee, totaling an extra $50 for the month. The reviewer characterizes the owner as "off his rocker" and "crazy," also alleging an attempt to block them in. This negative experience prompted them to seek another campground with washers and Wi-Fi and leave DV and D RV Park immediately.
Conversely, another reviewer presents a starkly different perspective, identifying as "recurrent campers" who stay at DV and D RV Park "Whenever we work on this side of the river." Their long-term experience, spanning "at least 5 years" of "staying here in and off," has been overwhelmingly positive. They describe the park as "Safe, small and Mr Dave takes good care of this campground." This directly contradicts the negative portrayal of the owner, referring to him respectfully as "Mr Dave" and emphasizing his attentiveness to the campground's upkeep. The recurrent campers express confidence in the safety of their belongings at the park due to Mr. Dave's maintenance and helpfulness. They conclude with a strong endorsement: "We love this place and this review is base on our own true experience."
These two reviews paint a complex and contradictory picture of DV and D RV Park. The first highlights potential issues with the owner's demeanor, payment policies (cash-only), late fee practices, and conflict resolution. It also mentions the absence of washers and Wi-Fi, which were important amenities for this traveler. The second review, based on extensive experience, emphasizes the park's safety, small size, and the owner's care and helpfulness.
Given these opposing viewpoints, it is challenging to definitively characterize the environment, services, and features of DV and D RV Park. The positive review suggests a safe and well-maintained small campground, implying a potentially close-knit and secure environment. The negative review, however, portrays a stressful and confrontational atmosphere with a seemingly unreasonable owner. The availability of specific services like laundry and Wi-Fi is also disputed between the two reviews.
The address on W Airline Hwy in Reserve, Louisiana, places DV and D RV Park in St. John the Baptist Parish. Airline Hwy (US-61) is a major route in the region, suggesting potential accessibility to local amenities and industries. Reserve is a smaller community located between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, offering a more rural or small-town setting compared to the larger cities.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me," DV and D RV Park presents a mixed bag of feedback. The recurrent campers' positive experience over several years suggests that long-term stays can be satisfactory for some. The emphasis on safety could be a significant draw for those concerned about security. The small size might appeal to those seeking a quieter, less crowded environment.
However, the negative review raises serious concerns about the owner's management style, payment policies, and the potential for conflict. The alleged lack of transparency regarding rent due dates and the imposition of unexpected late fees are significant red flags. The absence of desired amenities like washers and Wi-Fi, if accurate, could also be a deterrent for many travelers.
Prospective guests should consider these contrasting experiences carefully. If safety and a potentially well-maintained environment are priorities, the positive review is encouraging. However, the issues raised in the negative review regarding the owner's behavior and the availability of amenities warrant thorough investigation. It would be advisable to contact DV and D RV Park directly at (985) 215-8095 or +1 985-215-8095 to inquire about their policies, amenities, and to get a sense of the management style firsthand, if possible.
It is also worth noting the cash-only payment policy mentioned in the negative review. While not inherently illegal, it can be inconvenient for some travelers and might be worth clarifying with the park management beforehand.
In conclusion, DV and D RV Park in Reserve, Louisiana, elicits strongly contrasting opinions from the available customer reviews. While recurrent campers praise its safety, small size, and the owner's care, a recent first-time visitor reported a negative experience with the owner's payment policies and demeanor, as well as the lack of certain amenities. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should weigh these perspectives carefully and consider contacting the park directly to gather more information and determine if it meets their individual needs and preferences. The significant disparity in experiences suggests that individual interactions and expectations may play a crucial role in the overall satisfaction at DV and D RV Park.

DV and D RV Park Reviews
DONT STAY HERE . It was my First month here and last . The owners a grump . Asked him yesterday when rent was due he says tomorrow . I said I’ll have your cash tomorrow because he only takes cash (probably illegal ) or I would have paid right then and there . He’s at my camper first thing this morning saying it was due a few days ago and there’s a 10 dollar a day late fee per day and that I owe him an extra 50 for this month . Dudes off his rocker . Find another campground today that has washers and wifi and packed up headin that way now. Dude try to argue with me again this evening and block me in . He’s crazy .
Nov 03, 2021 · jacob phillipsWe are recurrent campers here. Whenever we work on this side of the river we stay here. Safe, small and Mr Dave takes good care of this campground. We have been staying here in and off for at least 5 years and we never ever had any problems with Mr Dave you can make sure your belongings will be safe here because he maintains his campground and helps people the best he can. We love this place and this review is base on our own true experience.
Jun 26, 2023 · Palma GautreauRude owner!!! Never never stay at this place!!!! The worst in more than 4 years of travelingOpportunist, called the owner and was told that Weekly price is $150. All I needed was 2 nights. As I told him that I am parked at the entrance to his park (which is a very basic gravel parking lot with NO amenities other than FHU) the daily price jumped to $50.Next door place daily price is $30 and the owner is a very nice and pleasant person.
