Eagles Nest RV Resort, located at 700 N Head Rd, Ilwaco, WA 98624, USA, offers a delightful escape with a variety of camping options and amenities designed to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. With a welcoming atmosphere and positive feedback from fellow travelers, Eagles Nest RV Resort is a great choice for your next Washington adventure.
Guests frequently commend the friendly and helpful staff at Eagles Nest RV Resort. Upon arrival, you can expect a warm welcome and efficient check-in process. The resort’s office and recreational room are noted for being neat and well-maintained, offering a pleasant first impression and a comfortable space to relax and find information. The availability of helpful staff ensures that any questions or concerns you may have are addressed promptly, contributing to a stress-free stay.
Eagles Nest RV Resort caters to a range of camping preferences, including tent camping with electricity in designated areas like Phase 3. While some guests in this area noted that adjacent sites might be preferable for groups to better utilize shared amenities like tables and fire pits, the option for tent camping with electrical hookups is a significant convenience. It's worth noting that water filling stations may be located in different phases of the resort, so planning accordingly is advisable. However, the resort’s willingness to accommodate tent campers, even allowing campfires (a feature not always available elsewhere), makes it an attractive option for those who enjoy traditional camping.
For those seeking relaxation and recreation, Eagles Nest RV Resort offers a pool and spa area. While one guest mentioned that these facilities could benefit from some TLC, they were still found to be clean and enjoyable. The presence of these amenities adds value to your stay, providing opportunities to unwind after a day of exploring the coast. Additionally, the resort boasts a fun miniature putt-putt golf course, a great feature for entertaining guests of all ages.
The grounds of Eagles Nest RV Resort are consistently described as well-kept, contributing to the overall pleasant environment of the park. Clean bathrooms are another frequently mentioned positive aspect, highlighting the resort’s commitment to maintaining essential facilities to a high standard. This attention to cleanliness ensures a comfortable and hygienic experience for all guests, whether you are staying in an RV or a tent.
One of the standout advantages of Eagles Nest RV Resort is its proximity to natural attractions. It is conveniently located near Cape Disappointment State Park, a renowned destination offering stunning coastal scenery, hiking trails, and historical landmarks. One happy tent camper noted that the resort is only about 2.5 miles away from the park, making it a much better option than camping directly within the often-crowded state park. This proximity allows easy access to the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the area while providing a quieter and potentially more affordable camping experience.
Beyond Cape Disappointment, the resort also offers access to other recreational activities on-site. Guests can enjoy horseshoes and a volleyball/badminton court, providing fun and engaging options for outdoor enjoyment. For families with young children, there are also swings available. These amenities ensure that there are plenty of ways to stay active and entertained during your stay at Eagles Nest RV Resort.
The resort also features a lodge, which is described as beautiful and a great place to hang out, watch TV, or play cards. This indoor common area provides a comfortable space to socialize with other guests or simply relax, especially on days when the weather might not be ideal for outdoor activities.
In terms of affordability, Eagles Nest RV Resort is particularly appealing to tent campers. One reviewer highlighted that three nights of tent camping cost only $115 with tax, which they considered hard to beat. This competitive pricing, combined with the amenities and location, makes the resort an excellent value for budget-conscious travelers looking for “RV parks near me” or tent camping options in the Ilwaco area.
While one guest who enjoys biking wished for a better connection to the Discovery Trail directly from the resort, the proximity to Cape Disappointment suggests that access to this and other trails is still relatively convenient with a short drive or bike ride. Future guests planning to bike the Discovery Trail may want to inquire about the best access points from the resort.
Overall, Eagles Nest RV Resort offers a well-rounded camping experience in a fantastic coastal location. Whether you are looking for an RV site with amenities or an affordable tent camping spot near natural attractions like Cape Disappointment, this resort provides a welcoming and well-equipped base for your adventures in Ilwaco, Washington. Eagles Nest RV Resort Reviews
We enjoyed our stay and the weather was fantastic for the coast. When we arrived we went to check in. The people at the counter were friendly and helpful. The office and rec room was neat and offered many different options. We were directed to Phase 3 for tent camping with electricity. We stayed in 309. The area we stayed in would have been better if we got the sites next to us with a group. There were tables and a fire pit there but we had to treck up to Phase 2 to fill our water containers. We visited the pool and spa which were clean but in need of some TLC. We played putt putt golf ⛳️ which was a great feature. The grounds were well kept and the bathrooms were clean. We like to bike and wish there was a better way to get to the Discovery trail from the resort. We would definitely go back but we will definitely be picking a different camp 🏕 site.
Sep 12, 2024 · Benjamen FischerWe loved our tent camp spot next to the pool. It is very quiet, close to Cape Disappointment, and away from the crowd of campers down there. The ladies who helped us check in were great, quick, and helpful. We planned to get a place at Cape Disappointment, but IMO this is much better. It is only 2.5 miles away from the park. We will definitely be back! Price wise, it's hard to beat for tent campers. 3 nights was only $115 with tax. Did I mention horseshoes, a volleyball/badminton court, swings for little kids and adult kids? 😇 It was also the only place I could find that still allowed campfires, which was my only means of cooking. The lodge is beautiful, and would be a great place to hang out and just watch TV or play cards.
Aug 07, 2024 · Shawn d kingWe stayed at Phase 2 in our 37ft fifth wheel trailer in space 216. We fit just right with not much room left for our pickup. If you have a big rig be careful coming in as the guard shack is a bit tight. I would advise using the left lane if no one is coming down the hill. As others have mentioned, the bathroom/shower stalls are not clean and outdated. In the Phase 2 area there is no Wi-Fi. And also, as mentioned by some but not all, the staff is not hospitable. We encountered that last year, and again this year; each year a different person checking us in.
Aug 30, 2024 · Audrey DesseraultWell, it's a soup kitchen. The pool building is Rusty and falling apart. They don't leave out things such as golf clubs to use to play mini golf. Ice is $3 for a very small bag. They have nowhere to even heat up a cup of coffee. And when I made the reservation I paid in full for 2 days. Then before they even closed I called back to see if I can put it out an extra day without having to pay for an extra day and nobody answered or called me back so when we made it there after hours the door of the lodge said to grab a map and it would tell you what space to be going to. Which it didn't. So we parked in a suitable spot 24 from the activities area, wait for me was a problem because I'm handicapped. The next morning the owner rudely knocked on her door and told her we were in the wrong spot you didn't know who the heck we were and why didn't you park where are map said to park. I told her there was no number on the map so we parked there. And she insisted that I get dressed and come down to register. I almost had an asthma attack walking my butt 10 trailers down to go and give her my ID and my credit card which she didn't need because she'd already gotten the money off of it. We left after basically spending the night, then going swimming the next morning. So we paid $125 for like using their parking lot for 12hrs. And a disgusting swim in an over bleached pool. Plus! Afterwards I was told it's a swinging community!!! Grody!!!
Aug 21, 2024 · Sarah Lou HewardVery quiet, especially if you want the nature experience. You feel like you are camping in the woods, especially if you are in phase 2.You are surrounded with trees and on occasion deers walking around very close. Then there is the sign that says to be aware of your surroundings because of the occasional sighting of bears. Then there are the evening sounds of the owls, it's incredible. You will enjoy the complete darkness and quietness of phase 2. The only thing to prepare ahead of time is to deal with all the mosquitoes. That was the only negative part of the trip. But we will definitely return. This place is so much more cleaner and kept up compared to the sunrise resport in Moses Lake where it appears so run down and the grass is all dead. Will definitely make the 6 hr drive to camp at Eagles Nest again.
