Elk Haven RV Resort Introduce
Nestled along the North Umpqua Highway in Idleyld Park, Oregon, Elk Haven RV Resort presents itself as a potentially appealing destination for those searching for 'RV parks near me' in a region renowned for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. Located at 22020 N Umpqua Hwy, Idleyld Park, OR 97447, USA, Elk Haven RV Resort offers a range of features that could attract RV travelers seeking a comfortable and convenient basecamp for their adventures.
According to customer reviews, Elk Haven RV Resort boasts nice, large sites, providing ample space for RVs and ensuring that guests do not feel cramped. Each site is equipped with picnic tables and full hookups, which are essential amenities for a comfortable and convenient RV stay. The presence of grass at the sites adds a touch of natural comfort and helps to create a pleasant outdoor living space. The resort also features ponds where guests can enjoy bass fishing, offering a relaxing on-site activity for fishing enthusiasts.
The daily rates are reported to be very fair, making Elk Haven RV Resort an economically viable option for travelers exploring the area. Check-in is described as easy, taking place in a distinctive log cabin house located to the left and back upon entering the resort. This unique check-in process adds a touch of rustic charm to the arrival experience.
For added convenience, Elk Haven RV Resort provides laundry facilities for its guests. The laundry service is noted to be nice, with a cost of $1.50 each for washing and drying, offering a practical amenity for longer stays or for travelers on extended trips.
One of the significant advantages of Elk Haven RV Resort is its perfect location for exploring the stunning Umpqua waterfalls. The resort serves as an ideal base for those wishing to discover the numerous picturesque waterfalls that the Umpqua National Forest is famous for. Additionally, the resort's proximity to the Umpqua River offers further opportunities for outdoor recreation, including fishing, swimming, and tubing, providing a diverse range of activities for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
For those seeking local dining options, a local bar with reportedly super good food is conveniently located just half a mile from the resort, serving its menu until approximately 10 pm. This proximity offers an easy option for guests who wish to enjoy a meal out without having to travel far.
While Elk Haven RV Resort possesses natural beauty and potential, some recent observations from visitors suggest areas that could benefit from improvement. The resort features ponds, a beautiful-looking lodge, lovely trees, and green grass, creating an aesthetically pleasing environment with plenty of space between RV sites. This spacious layout is a significant positive, preventing guests from feeling overcrowded.
However, concerns have been raised regarding the maintenance and overall appearance of certain aspects of the resort. One reviewer noted the presence of a manufactured home within the resort that appeared run down, with accumulated clutter around it and several seemingly abandoned vehicles parked nearby. Additionally, there were observations of older, less well-maintained RVs, and some tenants were reportedly allowed to store items under and around their RVs, which detracted from the overall visual appeal of the resort.
The ponds, while a potentially attractive feature, are reportedly not easily visible due to thick shrubbery and brush obscuring them. Furthermore, the ponds themselves were observed to have a significant amount of green algae, which the reviewer suggested could be addressed through chemical treatment or natural methods like introducing algae-eating fish and plants.
A specific negative experience was reported regarding the temporary management. A reviewer described an interaction with the individual filling in for the regular managers as unprofessional and rude, leading to a one-star rating based on this experience. The reviewer, however, expressed the belief that with improvements in cleanliness and maintenance, Elk Haven RV Resort could be a great place to stay.
Considering the information available, Elk Haven RV Resort offers several appealing features for those searching for 'RV parks near me', including large sites with full hookups, fishing ponds, fair pricing, and a prime location for exploring the natural attractions of the Umpqua region. However, potential guests should be aware of the reported issues concerning the maintenance of some areas within the resort and the variable quality of management interactions.
For local users seeking 'RV parks near me' that provide a base for outdoor adventures and essential amenities, Elk Haven RV Resort warrants consideration. The positive aspects, such as the spacious sites and convenient location, may outweigh the reported drawbacks for some travelers. However, it would be prudent for prospective guests to inquire about the current conditions and management practices when making a booking.

In conclusion, Elk Haven RV Resort offers a blend of natural beauty and convenient amenities in a prime location for exploring the Umpqua region. Jul 28, 2024 · Sara MThe resort has its beauty for sure and great potential to be much better. There are ponds, a beautiful looking lodge, lovely trees and green grass, with plenty of space between the RV’s so a person wouldn’t feel packed in like sardines. HOWEVER, when we drove through recently, we noticed a manufactured home inside the resort that doesn’t look very well maintained. It looked run down and had a lot of stuff piled around it, as well as several junky cars parked next to it under a tree that appear to not have been moved/driven in some time. We also noticed that there were a number of older run down looking RV’s, and that many of the tenants were allowed to pile stuff under and around their RV, which made the overall appearance of the resort look a bit undesirable. The ponds, though wonderful to have there, can not be seen very well as they are mostly hidden behind thick shrubbery and brush. The ponds themselves are also coated with thick green algae, which could be removed with chemicals or even naturally with fish that eat algae and plants that help prevent algae from being able to grow.I also spoke with the lady who was filling in for the managers who are currently away, and she was unprofessional and rude. So for that I give it one star. But, I feel with a bit of clean up on many levels it could be a great place.
Jul 28, 2024 · Debbie SweeneyLarge grassy area, owners very friendly and accommodating. Very quiet spot. Elk Have central to waterfalls, great hikes, Umpqua River. Clean, well maintained, large sites - we’ll be back!
May 06, 2024 · Carole BiskarNice RV park. Close enough to town but feels like you're a long way out. Tons of wildlife to watch. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The showers, restroom and laundry were nice and clean. Even though you're right off a busy highway the park is very quiet. We will definitely return.
Oct 28, 2022 · Chris BeithFriend of mine staying here we're looking to come stay for a bit. Everything looks well-kept I don't like the fact there's no concrete pads or fresh gravel Park your home on. Bathrooms were really clean and so was the laundry room. Showers look great they are $0.25 per shower though. There is a pond or to on-site lots of ducks. Close location to the north Umpqua great fly fishing.
