Far Horizons RV Park & Resort Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the Tucson, Arizona area that offer a range of amenities and potentially long-term stay options? Far Horizons RV Park & Resort, located at 555 N Pantano Rd, Tucson, AZ 85710, USA, is a large RV park and resort that may cater to various needs. You can reach them at (520) 296-1234 or +1 520-296-1234 to inquire about their services and availability. However, it is crucial for local users to be aware of recent customer feedback that raises significant concerns regarding transparency in fees and certain park policies.
While Far Horizons RV Park & Resort may present itself as a welcoming destination, recent reviews from actual customers paint a concerning picture that potential guests should carefully consider. One reviewer detailed a troubling experience involving an "undisclosed lock site fee." According to this account, they inquired about rates and availability for March and April, were quoted specific monthly rates, and were shown available sites on a map. After selecting a site and booking it, they received an email confirmation that included an additional $250 "lock site fee" that was never mentioned by the staff during the entire booking process. The reviewer expressed their intention to pursue this undisclosed fee legally, highlighting a significant issue with transparency and honesty in their booking experience.
Adding to this negative experience, the same reviewer reported a lack of response from the front desk when they attempted to address the issue. They eventually had to enlist the help of an on-site real estate person, who seemingly facilitated a resolution by waiving the "Site Lock Fee" with a credit on a revised guest folio. However, the reviewer noted the complete lack of direct communication, explanation, or apology from the front desk, describing their customer engagement/service as poor.
Another concerning review comes from a travel nurse who encountered significant issues upon a late arrival due to car trouble. Despite no prior communication about strict after-hours arrival policies, this guest reported being "literally yelled at by 4 people" at the gate house for arriving late (after 5 PM, despite being told to arrive during daylight hours, which they interpreted as a recommendation, not a strict rule). The reviewer apologized repeatedly but was met with further scolding. Additionally, despite no pet limit being mentioned during the reservation, the travel nurse was informed of a two-dog limit (they had dogs with them) and was given two days to vacate due to their animals. This experience led the reviewer to explicitly state, "DO NOT RECOMMEND," citing the unwelcoming treatment and the apparent lack of travel nurse friendliness.
These recent negative reviews raise serious questions about the park's communication practices, transparency in fees, and flexibility with guests facing unforeseen travel issues. Potential local users seeking "RV parks near me" for temporary or longer-term stays, especially those who might arrive late or are traveling with pets, should be aware of these reported issues.
It is important to note that these reviews represent individual experiences and may not reflect the experiences of all guests. However, they serve as critical feedback that should be considered when evaluating Far Horizons RV Park & Resort. While the park may offer various amenities and a convenient location in Tucson, these potential benefits might be overshadowed by concerns about undisclosed fees and inflexible policies.
To provide a more comprehensive overview, further information about the environment, services, and features of Far Horizons RV Park & Resort would typically be included. However, the provided text focuses heavily on negative customer experiences, leaving limited details about the positive aspects or the full range of amenities offered. Without additional information from these reviews, or other sources, it is challenging to provide a balanced description of the park's overall offerings.
Based on external sources, Far Horizons RV Park & Resort, associated with Cal-Am Resorts, may offer amenities such as a pool and spa, pickleball courts, a community garden, and potentially long-term rental options, including park models. Its location in Tucson provides access to the city's attractions, services, and the surrounding natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert. However, prospective guests should weigh these potential benefits against the serious concerns raised in the recent reviews.
For local users considering Far Horizons RV Park & Resort as one of their "RV parks near me," it is strongly recommended to conduct thorough due diligence. This should include contacting the park directly to inquire about all fees, including any potential "lock site fees" or other surcharges, and to obtain a clear understanding of their arrival policies, especially regarding after-hours check-in. If you are traveling with pets, it is crucial to confirm their pet policies, including any limits on the number or breeds allowed. It might also be beneficial to seek out more recent reviews from various platforms to get a broader sense of current guest experiences.
In conclusion, while Far Horizons RV Park & Resort in Tucson, Arizona, may offer certain amenities and a convenient location, recent customer feedback highlights significant concerns regarding undisclosed fees and potentially inflexible policies related to late arrivals and pets. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully consider these reported issues and conduct thorough research before making a reservation to ensure a transparent and positive experience. The lack of positive details in the provided reviews makes it difficult to recommend this park without reservation, and potential guests should proceed with caution and seek comprehensive information directly from the management.

Far Horizons RV Park & Resort Reviews
Deceitful, dishonest. Undisclosed lock site fee. Stopped in to inquire about rates and availability. Was told March was $1,070 and April was $890. On a map they circled the sites that were available at that rate. I drove past them all and picked one. Went back to the office and reserved it. They said I'd get a confirmation by email. Back home I opened the confirmation email and it had a $250 lock site fee on it. Neither of the women behind the counter had ever said anything about any kind of lock site fee. Ever. They just quietly went about the business of circling sites on the map, suggesting I drive by them and pick one, booking the reservation, and sending me on my way. They said nothing when I first arrived and asked about availability, they said nothing when they handed me the map with the circled sites, they said nothing when I returned to the office to book the site, they said nothing when we completed the booking. The only time I ever learned anything about a lock site fee was after I had made my deposit and received the email confirmation. This is an undisclosed fee which I will be pursuing legally. They should have just told me about it from the very beginning.UPDATE: I sent a message about this to the front desk and heard nothing back, so I enlisted the help of the on-site real estate person who had shown me a park model that same day. Still no response from the front desk, no email, no phone call, no message, no explanation, no apology, just a computer-generated email from their reservation system with a revised guest folio PDF attached showing a "Site Lock Fee Waived" credit. How's that for customer engagement/service? Sheesh.
Feb 20, 2025 · Dale H.Travel NurseCame in late due to car issues. Went to gate house to pick up information was literally yelled at by 4 people for coming in so late night before. They stated we were only allowed to come in 8-5 not after hours. No one had mentioned it to me, in fact she stated we recommend you come during daylight hours. Recommend is not you can’t come after dark. I apologized repeatedly but was scolded some more. I mentioned I had dogs no pet limit was mentioned in the reservation, found out only 2 dogs allowed. Was told by manager I had 2 days to vacate due to animals, doesn’t seem to be travel nurse friendly. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Feb 05, 2025 · Michaela CawthornBeautiful RV Resort spaces are nice but small. One note though I had left my Jeep unlocked once night and someone went through it and took my pickleball bag.
Apr 14, 2025 · Roy Dale NormanVery clean RV park... The people all seem to be Snow birds from around the Various parts of the US... Escaping the cold winters from wherever... To enjoy Tucson's (By-enlarge) Balmy winter climate...
Jan 16, 2025 · AC DettraThe resort is located on the east side of Tucson with a lot of retail conveniently close. The RV sites are tight but easily accessible with large RV's. Tons of activities and very friendly staff. Great place to be during the winter months. We would return when in the area.
