Lantern Estates Introduce
For local users in Indianapolis, Indiana, who are exploring long-term residential options within the "rv parks near me" category, Lantern Estates, located at 2909 S Lynhurst Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46241, USA, presents a mobile home park with significant negative feedback from its residents, according to the available online reviews. These reviews raise serious concerns regarding the park's management, maintenance, cost, and the surrounding neighborhood, which potential residents should carefully consider.
The environment surrounding Lantern Estates is described very unfavorably by one resident who refers to the neighborhood as a "crack head neighborhood." This perception of the surrounding area raises potential safety and quality of life concerns for prospective residents. The reviewer also describes the visual environment within the park itself as consisting of "worn down mobile homes and trashy slumlords," further contributing to a negative image of the community's aesthetic appeal and upkeep. This description suggests a potentially neglected and undesirable living environment, which stands in stark contrast to the often sought-after peacefulness and cleanliness of well-maintained RV and mobile home parks.
The services and features at Lantern Estates are heavily criticized in the reviews. One resident explicitly states, "There's no amenities to justify the ridiculous amount lot rent." This lack of amenities, coupled with the reported high cost, suggests a poor value proposition for residents. Basic amenities typically expected in long-term residential parks, such as recreational facilities, well-maintained common areas, or community services, are apparently absent or insufficient at Lantern Estates. Furthermore, a significant issue is raised regarding sewage backup, with one reviewer stating, "The sewage consistently backs up and your home will always smell like waste." This is a severe maintenance problem that directly impacts the health and comfort of residents, indicating a failure to provide essential and sanitary living conditions.
Another critical point regarding services is the restrictive parking policy mentioned by a resident. Families of three to five are reportedly limited to only two vehicles per household, which can create significant inconvenience for households with multiple drivers, including teenagers. This rule, coupled with the lack of other amenities, further diminishes the perceived value of residing at Lantern Estates.
The management and lease terms at Lantern Estates also come under scrutiny. One reviewer describes the management as "absolute slum lords!" and warns others not to move there, citing a history of unaddressed maintenance issues and being moved into "untenable units." The experience of having to "threaten to sue for the 2nd time in a year just to get the bare minimum repairs done" paints a picture of unresponsive and negligent management. Additionally, the mention of a "5 year lease with ever changing rules" and the possibility of lot rent increasing "a couple months after you move in with no addendum to the lease" suggests unstable and potentially unfair contractual terms for residents. The reported lot rent of "close to $700 a month" is deemed exorbitant by one reviewer, especially when compared to parks in suburban areas charging less than half that amount, further highlighting the perceived poor value.
No promotional information or incentives for new residents are mentioned in the provided reviews. Given the overwhelmingly negative feedback, it is unlikely that the park is actively promoting itself based on its current conditions and management practices, as described by its residents.
For local users exploring "rv parks near me" for long-term living in Indianapolis, the information available about Lantern Estates is overwhelmingly negative and should serve as a significant warning. The reported high lot rent without corresponding amenities, the severe maintenance issues like consistent sewage backup, restrictive parking policies, and allegations of unresponsive and negligent management paint a dire picture of the living conditions and overall experience at this mobile home park. The negative description of the surrounding neighborhood as a "crack head neighborhood" further compounds the concerns regarding safety and quality of life.
The comparison of the lot rent to that of parks in suburban areas, where significantly less is charged for potentially better amenities and environments, underscores the poor value proposition of Lantern Estates, according to one resident. The instability of lease terms, with reportedly ever-changing rules and the possibility of unannounced rent increases shortly after moving in, adds to the financial risks and uncertainty for potential residents.
In conclusion, based on the available resident reviews, Lantern Estates in Indianapolis appears to be a mobile home park with significant and serious issues related to its environment, lack of amenities, poor maintenance (specifically regarding sewage), restrictive policies, high cost, and problematic management. Local users seeking long-term residential options through the "rv parks near me" platform are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and thoroughly investigate these reported issues before considering Lantern Estates as a potential place to live. The overwhelmingly negative feedback suggests that this park may not provide a safe, comfortable, or reasonably priced living environment, and potential residents may encounter significant challenges and frustrations if they choose to reside there. Seeking alternative options within the Indianapolis area is highly recommended based on the experiences shared by current and former residents.

Lantern Estates Reviews
Worst mistake ever, 5 year lease with ever changing rules. Close to $700 a month for lot rent in a crack head neighborhood, when parks in the suburbs don't even charge 1/2 that. There's no amenities to justify the ridiculous amount lot rent which can go up a couple months after you move in with no addendum to the lease. If your a family of 3-5 don't even bother your kids will not be able to park their cars because your only allowed 2 per household. The sewage consistently backs up and your home will always smell like waste. The misery is real with the scenic view of crackheads, worn down mobile homes and trashy slumlords. You've been warned.
Apr 04, 2025 · John DoeAbsolute slum lords! Do not move here! This place is a joke and you will never regret anything more than being made to rent from these absolute wastes of space! They won't fix anything and will move you into an untenable unit without batting an eye. About to have to threaten to sue for the 2nd time in a year just to get the bare minimum repairs done.

Feb 25, 2024 · LindsayWhen you drive through this community, it looks nice and well cared for. A nice swimming pool, basketball courts, etc. However, what you don't see is the property manager harassing the people who live there. This woman constantly drives her car throughout the community several times a day. While doing this, she delivers her "notices" by taping them to your door. I've seen 3 different "notices all taped to someone's door throughout the day! By no means don't drive over 15 mph and don't let anyone delivering anything or coming to see you drive over that either. She will get in her car and follow you
