BUYER BEWARE! I bought my home as my intended retirement hideaway. My disappointment increases every year! The first year was wonderful, until.....So, The owners hide behind a Limited Liability Company (Leisure Meadows, LLC), and the property management company (Other Street Communities) hide behind layers of corporate titles. It's always somebody else's responsibility when trying to get anything done. I have been getting the run around for 3 years now trying to get working street lights, a basic safety and maintenance issue.....and at last count still over 40 not functioning throughout the neighborhood. On site management refused in writing to address the issue, the Operations Specialist has made very little progress and my last communication on this issue was sent to the Founder of Other Street Communities, and completely ignored. Owners also removed safety lighting in the parking lot, one of several decisions/modifications that show their focus on profits over resident/home owner well-being.The rent has been aggressively increased (mine 34.14% in 4 years), and both amenities and maintenance has decreased in quality. They removed 1/2 of the common/recreation area fencing off for storage. Removed tennis and basketball courts, and thought placing a basketball hoop in a parking lot was a safe alternative for the neighborhood kids. Not to mention potential property damage to the cars in that parking lot. There is now a club house, backyard swing set, and picnic area, that residents are regularly told to stay away from because it was rented or reserved for private parties, which includes the play area (3-4 times just since January of this year). Also a fenced dirt patch they call a dog play area as our "amenities". It should also be noted that several communities in the area with more amenities (pools, gated entry, etc.), pay less in monthly lot rent. Would like to present my research to the owners, but when i asked to speak with them, i was promptly given the name of an LLC, so i now have to get the names of registered officers through records. Just one example of the lack of accountability often used as a tactic with residents/home owners.Residents are told they are responsible for maintaining not only their lawn, but street lights (which is used as an excuse for years of non-functional safety lighting instead of creating a simple monitoring and follow up system to ensure the streets are well lit for resident safety), and even the sidewalk and road in front of their lot.....along with several restrictions about how you can use or what you can have on your lawn, and even restrict what you can have on your own porch or screened patio. This notice of responsibilities and restrictions was not provided at move-in but over a year later. It took 3 months to get a water line repaired to my lot, which included getting the run-around every time i contacted management, then being told they "forgot".....how does that happen?? There are many more stories, rude and unprofessional emails from on-site managment, and notes i took on rude and unprofessuonal interactions I witnessed or had with certain on-site staff. Including an incident where the on-site manager was standing on a young family's porch screaming at them through the door. A family with very young children who i imagine were scared! As this and several other inappropriate interactions have been reported to the corporate ladder by several home owners (for at least the last 3 years that i'm aware of) and continues, i can only assume it is not only tolorated, but appears to be the standard here. They are wonderful that first year, until.....you actually live here. Oh, IF the manager likes you personally, then they will go above and beyond. But challange or annoy them, and get ignored and spoken down to! ****let's see what the annonymous ciber voice has to say about this. I'd be happy to publish documentation 😁, including unprofessional, rude and borderline aggressive messages sent directly by on-site managment. - Dodie Rangel

Leisure Meadows Introduce

Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the sunny state of Florida? If so, you might come across Leisure Meadows, a mobile home park located at 41297 Infinity St, Weirsdale, FL 32195, USA. Situated in a seemingly tranquil area, Leisure Meadows can be contacted at (352) 753-3228 or +1 352-753-3228 for inquiries. While the initial impression might be appealing, delving deeper into the experiences of current and former residents reveals a more complex picture.

Based on available customer reviews, potential residents should exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence before making any commitments. Several long-term residents have expressed significant dissatisfaction with the management and overall living conditions at Leisure Meadows.

One recurring concern revolves around the responsiveness and accountability of the management. Residents describe a situation where the ownership, operating under Leisure Meadows, LLC, and the property management company, Other Street Communities, allegedly create layers of bureaucracy, making it difficult to address essential maintenance and safety issues. A particularly concerning example cited is the prolonged lack of functioning streetlights throughout the neighborhood, with one resident reporting over 40 non-operational lights and a three-year struggle to get them repaired. This raises serious safety concerns for residents navigating the park at night.

Furthermore, residents have reported a perceived shift in focus from resident well-being to profit maximization. This is evidenced by the alleged removal of safety lighting in the parking lot and the elimination of amenities such as tennis and basketball courts. The replacement of these courts with a basketball hoop in a parking lot is viewed as an unsafe and inadequate alternative for children. Additionally, a significant portion of the common/recreation area was reportedly fenced off for storage, further diminishing the shared spaces available to residents.

The introduction of new amenities like a clubhouse, backyard swing set, and picnic area has also been met with frustration, as residents claim these facilities are frequently reserved for private parties, sometimes multiple times a month, effectively limiting access for the general community, including the children's play area. The "dog play area" is described as merely a fenced dirt patch, hardly comparable to the amenities offered by other nearby communities.

A significant point of contention among residents is the escalating lot rent, with one resident reporting a 34.14% increase over four years, while simultaneously experiencing a decline in the quality of both amenities and maintenance. This discrepancy between increasing costs and decreasing services is a major source of dissatisfaction.

The management's communication and interaction with residents have also been criticized. Reports of rude and unprofessional emails, as well as witnessed instances of aggressive behavior by on-site management, paint a concerning picture of the community's atmosphere. The alleged practice of ignoring residents who challenge or annoy management further contributes to a negative living experience.

Adding to the concerns are the rules and regulations imposed on residents, some of which were reportedly not disclosed upon move-in. Residents claim they are held responsible for maintaining not only their lawns but also streetlights, sidewalks, and the road in front of their lots. Furthermore, restrictions are allegedly placed on what residents can have on their lawns, porches, and screened patios. One particularly unusual rule mentioned involves requiring credit score checks and background searches for visiting family members, raising questions about the intrusiveness and necessity of such measures for temporary guests.

The enforcement of rules is also a point of contention, with accusations of inconsistent application, where certain residents allegedly do not have to adhere to the same regulations as others, fostering a sense of unfairness within the community.

In conclusion, while Leisure Meadows in Weirsdale, Florida, might appear as a potential option when searching for "RV parks near me," the available customer feedback raises significant concerns regarding management practices, maintenance, increasing costs, diminishing amenities, and restrictive and inconsistently enforced rules. Potential residents are strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution, conduct thorough independent research, and if possible, speak with current residents directly to gain a comprehensive understanding of the living conditions before making any decisions. The discrepancies between the initial appeal and the reported experiences of residents warrant careful consideration for anyone seeking a long-term living arrangement in an RV or mobile home park in this area.
