Longacre Estates Manufactured Home Community Introduce
Longacre Estates Manufactured Home Community, located at 530 Reynolds Dr #137, Charleston, IL 61920, operates primarily as a long-term residential community for manufactured homes, though it might appear in searches for "RV Parks Near Me" given its similar structure. Managed by RHP Properties, a large operator of manufactured home communities, Longacre Estates aims to provide an affordable and convenient living solution in Charleston, Illinois. However, prospective residents should consider a range of factors, including past resident experiences, when evaluating this community.
Longacre Estates is situated within a residential area of Charleston, Illinois, approximately two miles from Downtown Charleston. The community's environment is characterized by individual manufactured homes on designated lots. While the management claims to provide "beautifully landscaped grounds," resident reviews indicate that the overall condition of the park can be varied. Some residents have described parts of the park as "run down" or a "dump," with concerns raised about the upkeep of individual properties and common areas. Reports of flooded yards and issues with infrastructure suggest that the physical environment can present challenges. The community is generally described as quiet, with residents largely "keeping to themselves," which might appeal to those seeking a less social, more independent living situation rather than a highly active community with many shared amenities or a strong neighborly interaction. The park is located within a quality school district, a potential draw for families.
Longacre Estates primarily offers manufactured homes for sale and, in some cases, for rent. This caters to individuals and families looking for homeownership opportunities within a community setting, potentially at a more accessible price point than traditional housing. The homes available typically range from 2 to 3 bedrooms and 1 to 2 bathrooms, with varying square footage. Key services include:
- Manufactured Home Sales and Rentals: The park facilitates the sale of manufactured homes, often with financing options. There may also be options for long-term rentals of units within the community.
- On-Site Management: The community advertises "experienced and professional management staff" to handle day-to-day responsibilities. However, past resident feedback highlights concerns regarding management consistency and responsiveness. Some reviews mention frequent changes in management and difficulties in getting maintenance issues addressed in a timely manner, with problems often left uncorrected or deemed the resident's responsibility after a certain period.
- Utility Connections: As a manufactured home community, it is expected that individual lots are equipped with necessary utility hookups (electricity, water, and sewage) for the manufactured homes.
- Pet-Friendly Policy: Longacre Estates is explicitly a "pet-friendly community," allowing residents to have their furry family members, which is a significant advantage for pet owners.
Prospective residents should exercise caution and conduct thorough inspections of any unit before committing, particularly given past complaints about property conditions such as falling floors, non-functional heating and air conditioning, lack of insulation, and mold.
The marketing for Longacre Estates mentions "family-friendly community amenities such as community events" and "beautifully landscaped grounds and contemporary amenities planned with your family in mind." However, actual resident reviews present a different picture, indicating a lack of readily available recreational facilities like a pool, park, or playground equipment. The focus appears to be less on shared amenities and more on providing individual housing units.
A significant feature, as highlighted by negative reviews, is the reported poor condition of some homes for sale or rent within the community, with issues ranging from structural problems to non-functional appliances and mold. There are also mentions of safety concerns, with reports of attempted break-ins, and recurring utility issues such as "boil orders" for water. The social dynamics within the community are also a point of concern, with some residents describing issues with "noisy neighbors" and instances where neighbors allegedly cause problems for others, leading to evictions, with management's involvement in these situations being a point of contention.
Essentially, while Longacre Estates aims to offer an affordable path to homeownership in a community setting, the actual experience for some residents has been marred by issues concerning property maintenance, management responsiveness, and communal living dynamics. The community's strength lies in providing a foundational place to live, particularly for those looking for pet-friendly options and the ability to own a home.
Longacre Estates Manufactured Home Community can be contacted at (217) 345-5543. Its address, 530 Reynolds Dr #137, Charleston, IL 61920, places it conveniently close to downtown Charleston, approximately 2 miles away. This location offers residents access to various local amenities and attractions in both Charleston and the neighboring city of Mattoon. These include:
- Shopping: Proximity to major retailers like Walmart, ALDI, and The Home Depot, as well as other local shops for daily necessities.
- Dining: Access to various local restaurants, including family-friendly options.
- Education: Located within a quality school district, making it attractive for families with children. Charleston is also home to Eastern Illinois University, providing educational and cultural opportunities.
- Recreation: Nearby attractions mentioned in promotional materials include Fox Ridge State Park, Morton Park, and the Rotary Community Aquatic Center, offering opportunities for outdoor activities, though residents would need to travel to these locations.
- Transportation: Local transportation options such as buses are available in the city, making it easier to get around without a personal vehicle, though a car is generally considered necessary for most errands from the community itself.
For potential residents, it is strongly advised to conduct thorough due diligence. This includes visiting the park, inspecting any specific unit of interest meticulously, speaking with current residents if possible, and clarifying all terms of purchase or rental, including maintenance responsibilities and any potential fees. Given the mixed reviews, focusing on the specific unit's condition and understanding the current management's approach to resident concerns would be paramount before making a decision to reside at Longacre Estates.

Longacre Estates Manufactured Home Community Reviews
Doesn't deserve a star. Me and my husband lived here and my mom and step dad was our neighbor. Both of our places were falling apart, people tried to break in , our yard was flooded for 2 weeks and to my knowledge still is because the last manger didn't do need thing but charge for stupid stuff. Ex if you had anything but white curtains you get charged because new manager new rules. During a year and half that park has been through 3 managers because all of them were crooked. Floors are falling through, nothing really worked in our place heat didn't work, had no insulation, ac didn't work. This place is a no go. If I knew what I know now I would have never moved here. I will NOT refer anybody here. Place is a dump.
Sep 14, 2017 · Pumpkin QueenI am only giving 3 stars because the place is okay but with two noisy neighbors who turns people in and gets them evicted if they dont like them its an okay place to live. Lot 29 is where we lived and that trailer is not livable, it needs a lot of work plus we found mold in our son's bedroom closet, cabinets needed fixing, the bathroom pipes need fixed and the air conditioning dont hardly work. They claim to give you 30 days but when you turn all of it in they never fix anything hardly, or they wait until after the 30 days then tell you it's your problem. The woman who lives in 30 Danielle Ball has that place wrapped around her little finger. People please look more closely at this place before getting one. Dont take trailer 29 you will regret it. They also have way to many boil orders.
Sep 10, 2020 · Elizabeth Maria JesseeThese are the most corrupt politics you can find, sorry to say. They say they offer equal opportunity but they just want you to fail even more in life, you get sick just looking at the number of dead cats I have had to have the animal shelter remove from here because we didn't want any kids to get sick yet they won't do anything to help with this issue yet the local animal shelter offers a spay neuter and release program just for this reason, but who am I to talk... oh wait a concerned person that would see this in any other state and the city wouldn't allow the occupation of any home bought or not till the problem was resolved.
