University Estates Manufactured Home Community Introduce
For local individuals and families exploring housing options under the category "RV Parks Near Me," which often includes manufactured home communities, University Estates Manufactured Home Community located at 775 W Elm Ave in Charleston, IL, presents a residential setting with a blend of positive and concerning feedback from its residents. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the available customer reviews, highlighting both potential attractions and significant issues that prospective residents should carefully consider.
One resident describes University Estates as a "nice peaceful place," indicating that the community may offer a tranquil living environment. This could be a significant draw for those seeking a quiet and calm residential setting. The sense of peace and quiet can contribute positively to the overall quality of life within the community, making it an attractive option for individuals and families who value a serene atmosphere.
However, alongside this positive aspect, there are notable concerns raised by other residents. One significant issue involves the condition of homes at the time of purchase and the responsiveness of management to post-sale maintenance needs. A resident who recently bought a mobile home reported discovering a non-functional dryer outlet upon moving in. Despite promptly contacting management through an answering system, the resident was informed that it would take over a week for rehabbers to assess the problem. This delay in addressing a seemingly basic electrical issue suggests potential shortcomings in the pre-sale inspection process and the efficiency of maintenance services. Prospective buyers should be particularly diligent in thoroughly inspecting any property before purchase and clarifying the procedures and timelines for addressing any necessary repairs or maintenance issues.
Another critical concern raised by a resident pertains to the community dynamics and the perceived fairness of management. This review suggests that the current manager, Kristen, may exhibit favoritism towards certain residents. The reviewer alleges that the children of a particular family ("the trotters kids") are able to engage in problematic behavior that is then unfairly attributed to other children in the community. This raises serious questions about the equitable enforcement of community rules and the potential for a biased living environment, particularly for families with children who socialize within the community. Prospective residents with children should be aware of this reported dynamic and consider how it might impact their family's experience living in University Estates.
The review further advises against purchasing a home in University Estates with the intention of long-term residency ("till the day you die") due to these reported issues with management and community dynamics. This strong statement underscores the level of dissatisfaction experienced by at least one resident and serves as a significant warning for potential buyers considering making a long-term commitment to this community.
The limited information available does not provide specific details about services or amenities offered within University Estates Manufactured Home Community. Typically, such communities might include features like on-site management, maintenance services, communal areas (such as clubhouses or green spaces), laundry facilities, or possibly recreational amenities. The absence of this information in the provided reviews means that local users will need to seek this information directly from the community management to gain a comprehensive understanding of what services and amenities are available to residents.
Similarly, there is no promotional information included in the provided text. Therefore, local users interested in University Estates should contact the management directly using the provided phone number ((217) 345-3133 or +1 217-345-3133) to inquire about current availability of homes or lots, any special offers or incentives for new residents, lot rental fees, and detailed information about the community's rules, regulations, and available services.
Given the mixed feedback from residents, with one highlighting the peaceful environment and others raising serious concerns about property condition upon purchase and potential management biases affecting community dynamics, local users considering University Estates as a "RV Parks Near Me" option for manufactured housing should approach with caution and conduct thorough due diligence. It is strongly recommended to visit the community, inspect any potential home thoroughly before purchase, and if possible, speak with current residents to gain a broader perspective on the living experience within University Estates.
Key areas of inquiry for prospective residents should include:
- What is the process for purchasing a mobile home in the community, including inspections and pre-sale preparations?
- What are the procedures and typical response times for maintenance requests?
- What are the community's rules and regulations, and how are they enforced?
- What services and amenities are available to residents?
- What are the lot rental fees and what do they include?
- What is the management's approach to ensuring a fair and equitable living environment for all residents?
In conclusion, University Estates Manufactured Home Community in Charleston, IL, offers a potentially peaceful living environment. However, prospective residents must be aware of reported issues concerning the condition of homes at the time of purchase and allegations of management favoritism that could impact community dynamics. Thorough investigation and direct engagement with the community management and residents are crucial steps for local users considering this as their next home within the "RV Parks Near Me" category.

University Estates Manufactured Home Community Reviews
Bought a mobile home, love it but..didn't have a walk thru when I purchased it, moved in a week ago..can't use my dryer bc outlet is fried, called got answering system will be over a week til rehabbers can look at it. This is something that should've been checked out before it was sold.On a positive note, it's a nice peaceful place, and I do love my home!
Nov 19, 2024 · Bobbie PerezNot the best place to buy a home that you plan on sti in till the day you die. Because the manager Kristen has her favorite person in there. The trotters kids get away with bloody murder. Well doing things that get blamed on your kids. This isn't the place to live if you have kids that will go out and socialize because they will get blamed for. Stuff they didn't do .
Mar 07, 2024 · Lucy DuvallI have here lived since 2012. We work hard, pay our rent and house payment on time and keep our home and yard nice. We've have been through some rough management. The past manager before the new one this time (before July/August 2019) was awful. We are talking, harassment. She was so rude, even to good tenants. The current one seems to be very professional and fair. However, the roads need fixed bad. They raise lot rent every year, but no improvements are made and this irritates me. The drainage in my area is awful, then you have notes telling you to mow your lawn when you have 2 feet of water standing in your backyard, this is not ok. The trees need cut and shouldn't be our responsibility. People get animals such as cats, don't fix them and then they multiply, are left to die outside. This is not ok. Complaint management is a nightmare. Getting anyone to call you back is a nightmare, especially when you hardly call to begin with... No voice mail lately. We stay to ourselves and love our elderly neighbors, but much needs to be addressed. Just because its a mobile home park, doesn't mean it can't be a nice place to call home. I am still holding out hope!! Also, with all that park space, add a fenced in dog park for the community!!
Aug 05, 2022 · Hailey LeonardPoor management she's never in her office when Rent do. she wants to put notes on people's doors for rent being late give them a late fee when she's not in the office to give it to her nobody wants to put their money orders in a drop box where everybody else can get to him. They have their favorites at that community
Apr 11, 2021 · DiannaIf you wanna feel like ur owned and can't do anything this is the place to live! We have lived here for 6 months and haven't had nothing but harrassment from the manager you try to talk to her and she tells you to get out of her office. She refuses to talk to you about anything nice people til they get u locked in then turn into the worst people and very rude. Follow community guidelines they say but the real reason is she has nothing better to do then harrass my kids and tell me that they are monsters n none of the neighbors like them
