Mohawk RV- Columbia Introduce
Welcome to Mohawk RV- Columbia, an RV park located at 11300 Broad River Rd in Irmo, South Carolina. For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Columbia area, Mohawk RV- Columbia offers a location with convenient access to the city and major roadways. Based on recent customer feedback, this park primarily caters to longer-term stays, though it does accommodate shorter visits as well.
Location and Accessibility
One of the primary advantages of Mohawk RV- Columbia, as highlighted by reviewers, is its convenient location. Situated in Irmo, it offers easy access to Interstate 26 and the city of Columbia. This makes it a practical choice for travelers looking for a stopover near the capital city or those needing longer-term accommodation with good connectivity to the surrounding areas. The proximity to Broad River Road also provides access to local amenities and services in Irmo.
The park is described as being "tucked into some woods," suggesting a degree of natural surroundings despite its nearness to the road. However, some reviewers have noted that the proximity to the road also means that traffic noise can be a factor. While the setting offers some natural elements, the convenience of its location appears to be a key aspect for many visitors.
Services and Amenities
Based on customer reviews, Mohawk RV- Columbia provides the essential hookups for RVs, including water, electric, and sewer. These are fundamental for a comfortable RV stay, allowing guests to connect their utilities. Beyond these basics, the amenities appear to be somewhat limited. Reviewers have pointed out the absence of a playground, which might be a consideration for families with young children.
The park does offer laundry facilities, with a mention of two laundry rooms housing a total of six washers and dryers. This provides a practical amenity for longer-term guests. Additionally, there is a new bathhouse that has been positively reviewed for its cleanliness and warmth, featuring two bathrooms on each side (men's and women's), each with a private shower and toilet.
While there is a building labeled "office," it reportedly functions more as an information point, with a whiteboard displaying Wi-Fi information and a park map. Customers have noted that there is often no one present in this building, and phone calls may go unanswered, suggesting limited on-site staff availability.
Features and Environment
The features of Mohawk RV- Columbia are somewhat varied based on the customer experiences. Some campsites are described as "huge," offering ample space, while others are "tiny," indicating a lack of uniformity in site sizes. The driveways within the park are reported to be "pretty rough," consisting mostly of gravel and dirt.
One notable feature mentioned is a pond area within the park, which reviewers found to be nice and a place where various birds and large fish could be observed. The presence of active squirrels was also noted, adding to the natural environment. The park is described as being "very quiet" despite its proximity to the interstate, which is a positive aspect for those seeking a peaceful stay.
Some reviewers mentioned the close proximity of some "fire pits" to the sewer connections of other sites, which might be a concern for some guests. The overall impression is that the park offers a functional space with some natural elements, but with limited additional features beyond the essentials.
Community and Atmosphere
Several reviewers have indicated that Mohawk RV- Columbia seems to host a significant number of permanent or long-term residents. Despite this, the atmosphere is generally described as friendly. Guests who stayed for a week mentioned that everyone they encountered was welcoming. However, the owners or any park staff were reportedly not visible or readily available during a seven-day stay, with the owners apparently residing in a log home on the property.
The park is noted for good cell phone and internet reception, which is an important consideration for many travelers needing to stay connected.
Considerations for Your Stay
Based on the available feedback, potential guests should be aware of a few factors:
- Pricing: Short stays (less than a week) are reported to be expensive per night and may not be perceived as good value for money given the limited amenities beyond the essentials.
- Site Variation: Campsite sizes can vary significantly, so it might be beneficial to inquire about the size of the specific site you will be allocated.
- Limited Amenities: There is no playground for children, no camp store, and limited interaction with staff.
- Ground Conditions: The driveways are rough gravel and dirt, which might be a consideration for some RVs.
- Noise: While generally quiet, some traffic noise from the nearby road may be audible.

Mohawk RV- Columbia Reviews
2 stars for location convenience. Other than that, wouldn't recommend. If you don't stay a week, it's expensive per night & not worth the price. Other than having water, electric, & sewer, there was nothing else worth mentioning. No one answers the phone or is in the building to talk to. Seems like most that stay here may be permanent residents, or at least stay for long periods of time. Close to the road, so can hear traffic. Late one night, the owners? (at the house in front) had their diesel truck idling for about 30 min- an hour. Sites are very close together with some of the "fire pits" right next to the other sites sewer. On a positive note, although we didn't use the bathrooms, I did peek in & they looked clean & felt warm. 2 each of women's & men's with private shower & toilet in one room.
Feb 06, 2025 · Erika CSome camp sites are huge, and others are tiny. There is no playground, as child free people this didn't matter to us but Littles could get very bored here. The driveways are all pretty rough, mostly gravel and dirt. There's no camp store or office. There's a building labeled office, but it's really just a whiteboard with wifi info and a park map. There are 2 laundry facilities with a total of 6(?) washers and dryers. The new bath house is very nice. There are 2 bathrooms on each side, and all were fairly clean. The pond area is nice and we saw several birds and large fish. Squirrels are very active, too. Convenient to I 26 and Columbia, while very quiet and tucked into some woods. We had no problems with cell or internet. It's mostly long term in the park, but everyone was friendly. Even though the owners appear to live (in the log home) on site we never saw them, or any staff in our 7 day stay.
Nov 25, 2024 · CraftinWifes CreationsGreat location. Close to Harbison state forest has great trails. The showers need to be checked after guests. Guests don't clean up after using. So sad.Had very little interaction with owners but he was nice.No place to buy supplies on site. But food lion just minutes away.Very quiet and peaceful. No one man's the office.
Oct 21, 2024 · Debbie UfertMy son and I loved fishing and walking around the pond. Bathrooms were clean, and the showers were great! There were multiple laundry rooms with decent prices, the wifi was okay, and the neighbors were friendly! The only thing we would have liked to see was a playground. It looked like there was one at some point!
