My Place at Thorn Hollow Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Clay Township, Michigan area, My Place at Thorn Hollow, located at 9600 Nook Rd, Clay Township, MI 48001, USA, is a manufactured home community that may offer accommodations for RV travelers. You can contact them at (586) 884-6935 or +1 586-884-6935 for inquiries about RV site availability and terms. Recent customer reviews provide a mixed perspective on the community, with positive remarks about the environment and some personnel contrasted by significant concerns regarding cost and amenities.
One resident, who has lived at My Place at Thorn Hollow for over a year, expresses high satisfaction, stating they "couldn’t be happier." They commend James, describing him as "dedicated and hard working, always with a smile as he takes care of the grounds." This suggests that the park benefits from at least one diligent and friendly groundskeeper, contributing to the upkeep and aesthetic appeal of the community. The reviewer also highly recommends the community to those seeking "a quiet place surrounded by trees and wonderful neighbors," highlighting the natural environment and the social atmosphere as significant positives. For RV travelers who value a peaceful, wooded setting and friendly neighbors when choosing among "RV parks near me," My Place at Thorn Hollow appears to offer these qualities.
However, another resident provides a starkly contrasting view, focusing on the significant rent increases implemented since My Place Communities LLC purchased Thornhollow Mobile Home Village in November 2021. They report that lot rent has increased four times, amounting to a 70% increase for long-term residents (10, 20, and 30 years). Even for more recent residents, like the reviewer who moved in around the time of the ownership change, the rent has risen substantially: $85.00 by February 2022, $40.00 by February 2023, $18.00 by June 2024, and another $85.00 increase scheduled for January 2025. This pattern of frequent and substantial rent hikes raises serious concerns about the affordability and long-term cost of residing at My Place at Thorn Hollow, a crucial consideration for RV travelers, especially those planning an extended stay or seeking a more permanent "RV park near me." The reviewer expresses the sentiment that these increases are making the community "unaffordable."
Adding to the financial concerns is the reported lack of amenities. The reviewer explicitly states, "There are no amenities like a pool or clubhouse." These are common features found in many "RV parks near me" that enhance the living experience and provide recreational opportunities. The absence of such amenities at My Place at Thorn Hollow could be a significant drawback for RV travelers who value these facilities.
Furthermore, the reviewer details issues with infrastructure maintenance, specifically regarding street lighting. They report that "the street lights on my street were out from June to September after numerous complaints and inquiries 3 were fixed but the one at the beginning of the street is still out." This indicates a potentially slow and incomplete response to maintenance requests, which can impact the safety and convenience of residents and RV guests, especially during nighttime hours. Poor street lighting is a significant safety concern to consider when evaluating "RV parks near me."
The only positive amenity mentioned by the critical reviewer is "garbage pick up though yay," which underscores the limited number of services provided relative to the increasing costs. This lack of comprehensive amenities, coupled with rising rent, suggests that the value proposition of My Place at Thorn Hollow might be diminishing for its residents and potentially for RV travelers as well.
Based on these reviews, the environment of My Place at Thorn Hollow offers a quiet, wooded setting with potentially friendly neighbors, which could be appealing to some RV travelers. However, this positive environment is juxtaposed with significant financial concerns due to frequent and substantial rent increases. The lack of common amenities like a pool or clubhouse, and the reported issues with street lighting maintenance, detract from the overall appeal and functionality of the community as a long-term or even short-term option among "RV parks near me."
Features of My Place at Thorn Hollow include its quiet, tree-filled surroundings and the presence of at least one dedicated groundskeeper. However, negative features include the rapid and significant increases in lot rent, the absence of typical recreational amenities like a pool or clubhouse, and potential issues with the maintenance of infrastructure such as street lighting. The friendly neighbors, as reported by one reviewer, could be a positive social feature, but this might not outweigh the financial and amenity-related drawbacks for many RV travelers.
Currently, there is no promotional information available for My Place at Thorn Hollow in the provided reviews. The feedback focuses on the living experience, costs, and amenities rather than any special offers or incentives. Therefore, prospective RV visitors should contact the management directly at (586) 884-6935 or +1 586-884-6935 to inquire about current rates for RV sites and any potential discounts for short-term or long-term stays, while also keeping in mind the reported trends of increasing lot rent.
In conclusion, My Place at Thorn Hollow in Clay Township, Michigan, offers a potentially pleasant environment with its quiet, wooded setting and friendly neighbors. However, potential RV travelers considering this community among "RV parks near me" must carefully weigh these positives against the significant concerns raised about frequent and substantial rent increases, the lack of common amenities such as a pool or clubhouse, and potential issues with infrastructure maintenance like street lighting. It is strongly recommended that interested individuals contact the management directly to inquire about the current rates and the availability of RV-specific amenities, and to consider whether the reported cost increases and limited amenities align with their budget and needs. The contrasting positive and negative feedback suggests that a thorough personal assessment is crucial before choosing My Place at Thorn Hollow for your RV stay.

My husband and I have lived here for over a year now and couldn’t be happier. James is dedicated and hard working, always with a smile as he takes care of the grounds. I highly recommend this community to anyone seeking a quiet place surrounded by trees and wonderful neighbors.
Nov 12, 2024 · Jackie GreenSince My Place Communities LLC purchased Thornhollow Mobile Home Vilage in November 2021 they have increased the lot rent 4 times. Up by 70% for residents that have lived here 10, 20 and 30 years. I moved in just as they took ownership and by February 2022 they raised it $85.00, February 2023 $40.00, June 2024 $18.00, now we have been informed that starting January 2025 another increase of $85.00. They are making this community unaffordable. There are no amenities like a pool or clubhouse and the street lights on my street were out from June to September after numerous complaints and inquiries 3 were fixed but the one at the beginning of the street is still out. We do have garbage pick up though yay.

Nov 16, 2024 · Ed Knappenberger SrThis park is quite well maintained. It is such a quiet and secluded community with some wonderful residents
Nov 01, 2024 · James JohnsonDouble standard run high in this park, the owners allow their son to run however he wants, & by the rules they have there he isn't even supposed to live there. They also have a problem w/ the people who live in help from their family members. They are also the type of people give permission to others, then take it back. Wishy washy
