Based on the available customer reviews, this campground provides a clean and friendly environment, particularly appealing to those who appreciate the soothing sounds of a creek and proximity to outdoor activities.
The Environment: Creek-Side Serenity with Adventure Nearby
One of the standout environmental features of Nantahala RV Resort & Campground is its creek-side location. A reviewer described their spot as "right in the creek," emphasizing the immersive natural setting and the "amazing" experience of being so close to the water. The sound of the creek is noted as being "super loud," which, while potentially noticeable, also serves as a natural sound barrier, effectively "drowning out any neighbor noises," contributing to a sense of privacy and tranquility within the campground.
Beyond the immediate creek-side ambiance, the campground is praised for being "very quiet and peaceful," suggesting a serene atmosphere conducive to relaxation. Despite this peaceful setting, it is conveniently located "not far from adventures and grocery stores," striking a balance between natural seclusion and accessibility to essential amenities. For those interested in outdoor activities, the location is ideal. One reviewer who enjoys riding noted that "the roads around here are fun to explore," indicating scenic routes for motorcycles or cycling. Hikers will also appreciate the "plenty of trails nearby," offering opportunities to explore the surrounding natural beauty of the Nantahala region.
Adding to the convenience, a "general store is walking distance from the Campsites," making it easy to pick up necessities or snacks. For those interested in local culture or starting their Sunday in a particular way, a "church is right across the street." A significant highlight for adventure seekers is the proximity to the "NOC (Nantahala Outdoor Center) is just over a mile away," offering a wide array of activities such as whitewater rafting, kayaking, ziplining, and more. This makes Nantahala RV Resort & Campground an excellent base for exploring the outdoor adventure hub of the region.
One minor environmental consideration mentioned is the campground's proximity to a road, which occasionally resulted in passing car headlights shining into a camper. However, the reviewer noted that it was "not a busy road," suggesting that traffic noise and light intrusion are likely minimal.

Nantahala RV Resort & Campground Reviews
Basic - but clean and nice camping spot. Our spot was right in the creek - which was amazing- super loud creek, that drowned out any neighbor noises. Camp host {Kevin} was super friendly. Campground had WiFi - enough we were able to stream a show every now & then. Bath houses were clean - my only complaint was that it was close to a road and passing by car headlights occasionally shown into our camper (thankfully it was not a busy road). A big bonus - was that we pulled out AS with a Rivian and we were able to use the 50 amp service to charge the truck! We would go back!

May 24, 2024 · Mick SmithWe had a great experience with Nantahala RV Resort & Campground. We needed a spot to park our 40 foot and 26 foot trailers and it was perfect! Price was great! Great amenities (water, electric, sewer, bathrooms, trash disposal)! The owner was very easy to communicate with. We had to extend our stay and it was stress free. Convenient location. Definitely recommend!
Apr 14, 2025 · Daisy LoaneThis is a fantastic option for tent or RV camping anywhere near the Nantahala Gorge. If you are headed to fish the Nantahala, ride the rapids, visit the NOC or anything else in the area, this place is in a great location! One thing that was really nice is that I had very good cellular signal at this campground, even though I was only minutes from my fishing spot. The entire campground looked brand new. The roads and RV spots were gravel, and each spot had a picnic table. Most of the spots had RV electrical and water hookups and even fire rings. My spot was right next to the creek, so I slept really well with the sound of the water in the background. My trip was very last minute, but the owner/manager answered the phone even though I was calling after normal business hours. He told me to meet with the Camp Host when I arrived, and I hopped in the truck and headed to the campground. She was super nice, and I was able to park, set up my rooftop tent and get settled in.It was very easy to find, very clean and the bath house was even heated. Everything looked brand new in the bath house, and it had several stalls and showers.I actually texted a buddy of mine that often goes on fishing trips just like this one with me and told him that I found a new campground for our next trip. I was really impressed!
Feb 10, 2024 · J EeExcellent campground. Ample sized spots, level ground, full hook ups available, and easy to navigate in a big rig. Bathrooms were spotlessly clean, the cleanest I’ve ever used in my time as a full time RVer. Though it is roadside a deep creek separates the campground from the road and the noise from road is low. Minutes from the take out and NOC campus. Excellent Wi-Fi. Could actually work on it which is not common at a campground. Highly recommend.
