Near Lakes Mobile Home Community Introduce
For local residents in the Seneca, South Carolina area searching for "rv parks near me" that might offer long-term living options, Near Lakes Mobile Home Community, located at 100 Near Lake Cir, Seneca, SC 29678, USA, warrants careful consideration. While the platform category is "rv parks near me," it's essential to understand that this is a mobile home community catering primarily to long-term residents. Recent feedback from individuals who have lived or are currently living in the community provides valuable insights into the environment, management, and overall living experience, highlighting both positive and negative aspects that potential local residents should be aware of.
The Environment: Well-Maintained Outdoors, Potential Management Concerns
One consistent observation from the reviews is that the physical appearance of Near Lakes Mobile Home Community is generally positive. One reviewer explicitly stated, "the outside around park is well kept. Looks nice." This suggests that the grounds are maintained, contributing to a visually appealing environment. However, this positive aspect is overshadowed by significant concerns raised about the management of the community. Multiple reviewers have expressed dissatisfaction with management practices, particularly under the current company, GreenLeaf, which acquired the park a couple of months prior to one review. Allegations include being "quite nosey," interfering in residents' personal affairs, and sharing private financial information between neighbors. Such behavior can significantly impact the sense of privacy and trust within the community, potentially creating an uncomfortable living environment for residents. It is crucial for prospective residents to weigh the aesthetic appeal of the park's exterior against these serious allegations regarding management conduct.
Services and Management: Delays in Repairs, Deposit Issues, and Lease Concerns
The reviews raise several critical issues regarding the services and management of Near Lakes Mobile Home Community. One long-term resident described a problematic approach to maintenance, claiming that management often cites owners living out of state (North Carolina) as a reason for delays in essential repairs, such as refrigerator replacements. The reviewer alleged that this can lead to food spoilage without any reimbursement to the affected tenants. This suggests a potentially unresponsive or inefficient system for handling necessary repairs, which could be a significant inconvenience and financial burden for residents. Furthermore, a serious concern was raised about the return of security deposits, with one reviewer stating that deposits are "never returned, always an Excuse." Such practices can lead to financial disputes and erode trust between residents and management. The change in management to GreenLeaf appears to have introduced new challenges, particularly concerning the lease agreements. One former resident who initially loved the place expressed significant disappointment with the new management company, describing them as "not at all good at getting things done," "bullish," and "threatening" regarding the acceptance of "crazy leases." This indicates potential instability and unfavorable changes in tenancy terms under the new management, which local users considering long-term residency should investigate thoroughly.
Features: Community and Potential Instability
Despite the serious concerns about management, one former resident did mention still "loving park and people," indicating that there might be a positive sense of community among the residents themselves. This social aspect can be a significant draw for those seeking a sense of belonging in their living environment. However, the issues with the new management company and the lease agreements could potentially disrupt this positive community dynamic over time. The well-kept exterior, as mentioned earlier, is another feature that might appeal to prospective residents who value the aesthetic appearance of their neighborhood. However, it is essential to balance these potentially positive features against the reported negative experiences with management practices and lease terms. The instability introduced by the new management company, GreenLeaf, and their approach to lease agreements and resident interactions appears to be a significant factor that local users should carefully consider.
Understanding the "RV Parks Near Me" Category in This Context
As a local user searching under the category "rv parks near me," it is important to recognize that Near Lakes Mobile Home Community, based on the reviews, functions primarily as a long-term residential mobile home park. While it might accommodate some RVs for extended stays, the services, management style, and community dynamics are likely geared towards those who own or rent mobile homes within the park. The concerns raised about management practices, lease agreements, and deposit returns are particularly relevant for individuals considering making this their long-term residence. The expectations and priorities of someone looking for a short-term RV park might differ significantly from those considering a long-term stay in a mobile home community. Therefore, local users should approach Near Lakes Mobile Home Community with the understanding that it is a residential park and evaluate it based on the criteria relevant to long-term living.
Promotional Considerations and Objective Assessment for Local Users
Given the serious negative feedback regarding management practices, particularly under the new company GreenLeaf, and the concerns about lease agreements and deposit returns, it would be difficult to highlight any positive promotional aspects for Near Lakes Mobile Home Community at this time based solely on the provided reviews. While the well-maintained exterior and the potential for a positive community among residents are mentioned, these are overshadowed by the significant issues raised about the management's conduct, responsiveness to maintenance needs, and financial dealings with tenants. For local users considering long-term residency, a thorough investigation of the current management practices, lease terms, and tenant rights would be essential before making any decisions. The negative experiences shared by former and current residents should be taken seriously and weighed heavily against any potential benefits of the location or the appearance of the park.

Near Lakes Mobile Home Community Reviews
The management is quite nosey, always get into peoples business and tells other tenants personal information about their neighbors financial dealings. The management always tells tenants that owners live in n.c. and that if something breaks or needs replacing she will try to get in touch and it might be a day or so before refrigerator is fixed( for instant) so all your food spoils yet you are not reimbursed the cost. Your deposit is never returned, always an Excuse . the outside around park is well kept. Looks nice. Shirley Conway's place is always perfect, she is management.
Jan 27, 2017 · lillie foxxI loved the place until GreenLeaf bought us out a couple of months ago. It's a huge corporate company that is not at all good at getting things done. Furthermore, the lease is a joke. But I am still loving park and people, just really disappointed in the new Management company. They are bullish, threatening to us if we don't accept the crazy leases! I will change my review should Green Leaf get it's act together.
Jul 10, 2019 · Deb MontefescoIf i could give a half star I would, at first you think this is a quiet nice clean neighborhood, me and my wife soon learned that these people are nosey and tells everyone else's business,,Our neughbors were great people ,they even warned us ,,Frank circles everyone's trailers first thing in morning and then when they want to intimidate you they harass you about your yard(even though it's in the lease not to do lawnwork they have it done for you). They won't fix anything that goes wrong in your place saying they cannot get ahold of the owner, etc. We also think they came into our place when we were gone on vacation, they watch everything you do like hawks whenever you have company,,when your outside, walking, never any privacy. Shirley lies ,she told us rent was one amount then 3 months after she changed it, mind u we paid more the first 3 months but they, when it comes down to it are just nosey and bored and it's ridiculous, Shirley says the owner lives in NC somewhere yet nobody ever has met nor seen the owner. They go the wrong way on the drive but if u do it one time they make a big stink about it and act like it's a tragedy. Frank claims he can fix stuff but it's all done crappy, and not done correctly. It's creepy because you cannot take a walk literally without them getting in their vehicles and circling you or they have their goons do it for them, their goons are lifers here and good friends with Shirley and Frank. I don't suggest anyone rents from them,I have known many good people leave and they never give you back your deposits, sayin you have to get the floors "professionally" cleaned, etc. This was only a stepping stone for me and my family, they are wolves in sheep's clothing. Beware!
Jul 13, 2018 · Jacob and NeShanna SkaggsI live here it's a decent neighborhood we never have to worry about really anything it's a awesome neighborhood
Nov 30, 2024 · Haley CallahanIf there was a way to give a half star or none at all, I would have.I spent from the end of December thru all the cold months with no heat. Because they won't fix ANYTHING!Shirly who runs the park is the rudest person to deal with and is VERY dishonest. I payed cash a lot bc I'm a server and she would try to not give me receipts...but I insisted bc I had already been warned after moving in of how dishonest she is. She always blames everything on someone named Joan who no-one has ever seen. Even neighbors say they have never seen Joan???She says she gave me a lease...NEVER HAPPENED. SO when I decided to move, she lied and said she in fact gave me one and proceeded to lie about things she supposedly told me when I overpayed to move in. She is all about the almighty dollar and not doing what is right! If you do decide to rent from her, insist on a lease. And no matter what, do NOT expect to ever get your deposit back because she will find a way to screw you out of it! Also if u like privacy...not the place for you. She and Frank will circle the park and have their goonies who have lived there for years watching your EVERY move. I even believe they entered my home when I was sick and not home!In the end a lie is a lie and the truth is the truth. You can't make a lie the truth or vice versa. What you sow.... You will reap. Its on you at this point Shirly!
