Oak Terrace RV Resort Introduce
Oak Terrace RV Resort, nestled at 100 Beyers Lake Estates, Pana, IL 62557, USA, is far more than a typical entry under "RV Parks Near Me." It presents itself as a comprehensive resort experience, combining the convenience of full-hookup RV sites with a vast array of high-end amenities typically found at a full-fledged resort. This establishment, contactable at (217) 539-4477 or +1 217-539-4477, is a prime destination for RV enthusiasts seeking not just a place to park, but an entire vacation experience.
The resort is a part of the larger Oak Terrace Resort, a family-owned and managed establishment that has been operating since 1972, with the third generation of the Beyers family currently at the helm. This long-standing commitment to hospitality is often reflected in the quality of service and the well-maintained facilities. The RV resort itself, featuring approximately 20-25 very large sites, opened for guests in Memorial Day weekend 2020, indicating a relatively new and modern addition to the resort's offerings.
The environment at Oak Terrace RV Resort is characterized by its tranquil, picturesque setting amidst nature. Situated on a peninsula of a 65-acre "No Wake" catch-and-release fishing lake, the resort offers a calming ambiance, albeit with views of the lake potentially restricted by surrounding forest in some areas. The resort aims to provide a luxury experience, evident in several site features. Each RV site is described as large, paved, and level, making setup straightforward. A notable feature at every site is the inclusion of "turf" for the patio area, which is highly praised by guests for keeping the area cleaner and preventing mud, even after heavy rain. Each site also comes equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, perfect for outdoor enjoyment.
The sheer volume of amenities available to RV guests sets Oak Terrace RV Resort apart. These include:
- Recreation Center: A central hub for activities, featuring ping pong, pool tables, shuffleboard, and an arcade game room. There's also a social room with a TV and fireplace, and a poker table.
- Sports Facilities: An 18-hole championship-style golf course (often referred to as "Shotmaker's Mile" on the back nine), a driving range, tennis courts, and pickleball courts. There's also a basketball court and horseshoe pit.
- Water Activities: An outdoor swimming pool for relaxation and dips (seasonally open), as well as a heated indoor pool. Guests can also enjoy boating and fishing on Beyers Lake, with pontoon boat rentals available. Note: Swimming in the lake is not permitted, and fishing is strictly catch-and-release with no live bait.
- Fitness and Wellness: A workout center with treadmills, elliptical machines, free weights, and weight machines.
- Dining: Mulligan's Bar & Grille, an on-site restaurant and bar, offers convenience for guests looking to dine without leaving the resort.
- Other Amenities: A small hotel and condos for non-RV guests, a pro shop, outdoor pavilion with grills, and a playground for children. The resort also offers nature hikes and bicycle riding trails.
The overall atmosphere is described as quiet, quaint, and family-friendly, allowing guests to choose between active recreation and peaceful relaxation.
Oak Terrace RV Resort ensures a comfortable stay with essential services and features. All RV sites are full hookup, providing water, sewer, and both 30 and 50 amp electric service. The large sites are designed to accommodate big rigs and slides. While Wi-Fi is available at overnight sites, some reviews suggest its speed can vary, indicating an area for potential improvement.
For guest convenience, trash pickup is available directly from sites between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, with a dumpster also available at the north end of the parking lot for after-hours disposal. The resort enforces a strict 5 MPH speed limit for the safety of all guests. Check-in is at 1:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
Pet policy is clear and accommodating: pets are welcome, but must be walked on a leash in designated areas, cleaned up after, and not left unattended outside. Pets are not permitted inside buildings, at common areas, activity areas, the hotel, or condos. Aggressive or noisy pets are not allowed.
The resort also offers an "escort to site" service, which can be very helpful for navigating a new park, especially for larger RVs. While restrooms and showers are available, some reviews note that they may not be within walking distance of all RV sites, and some guests prefer to use their RV's facilities.
The numerous activities and facilities serve as the primary promotional draw for Oak Terrace RV Resort. The opportunity to enjoy golf, lake activities, and a range of indoor and outdoor sports within a single resort complex makes it an attractive destination. Reviewers consistently highlight the abundance of activities, with one guest exclaiming, "So so much to do!" The reasonable pricing for full hookup sites is also noted as a significant positive.
Testimonials frequently praise the cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, and the friendliness of the staff. The fact that the resort is family-owned and managed, with family members living on-site, fosters a sense of personal care and dedication to guest experience. The resort actively encourages guests to make it a family favorite, emphasizing its suitability for both relaxation and active enjoyment.
A past guest even mentioned a "fabulous fireworks show" on a Saturday night, suggesting that the resort may host special events, further enhancing the guest experience. Its proximity to the Lincoln Bike Trail (approximately 4 miles away) is a major draw for cyclists, highlighting its appeal to various recreational interests.
One constructive piece of feedback from a reviewer concerns tree branches that need trimming on the left fork when entering the campground to prevent scratching RVs. Another suggestion was to remove or trim dead trees near site 16 due to potential safety concerns. These are minor points that can be addressed by the management but are worth noting for future visitors.
Overall, Oak Terrace RV Resort distinguishes itself within the "RV Parks Near Me" category by offering a holistic resort experience. It’s an ideal choice for RVers who appreciate a well-maintained, activity-rich environment with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, making it a "hidden gem out in the country" that many visitors promise to return to. Oak Terrace RV Resort Reviews
What a wonderful quaint, quiet little campground! (20 campsites) A hidden gem out in the country. It's laid out well and even has turf for your patio area. They have a swimming pool, resort center with driving range, ping pong, pool, shuffleboard, tennis, pickleball, work out center, golf course, small hotel and restaurant. So so much to do! Our only suggestion is if coming into the campground it Y's if you go to the left the tree branches need to be trimmed back so not to scratch your RV. Luckily we were able to go to the right to avoid this. The other suggestion is they need to rid or trim back the dead tree next to site 16. If bad weather or a very windy day could cause dead tree branches to fall and do damage to your RV or awning. We will definitely be back again and the pricing is very reasonable for full hookup. Overall I'd give it ten🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️ They even had a fabulous fireworks show Saturday night. I thought it was better than the Shelbyville show the night before.P.S. to future visitors don't let your pets do their business on the turf. This is a luxury they have provided to make your stay even more enjoyable don't abuse it. 😊
Jul 07, 2024 · Jill NewbanksSpectacular RV campground in the middle of Illinois. We only stayed one night, but it was very nice. Fall colors, a lake, and if you're a golfer, they have a golf course too.We stayed there cuz it's 4 miles from the Lincoln Bike trail, and we rode that.
Oct 19, 2023 · John BeckerThis is a nice, small RV resort tucked away beside a lake and golf course. They are all full hook-up sites with both back in and pull-thru options. We stayed in site 14 and our 29ft travel trailer fit nicely with space to park the truck beside the entrance. They have put in astroturf islands in each site that are a really nice touch to eliminate mud and provide soft ground on a gravel site. My only complaint is that the wifi is tricky and spotty and didn't work well for us but it's not a big deal for us, either. We met the family that owns and runs the resort and golf course and they couldn't be nicer! We will definitely be back.
Sep 18, 2022 · Darin CoulterGreat, small RV park. Full hook ups, quiet area, all gravel and they added AstroTurf to each site so you have some nice soft ground to walk on. Wifi was spotty. Back in and pull through spots that are pretty level. Didn't use the bathrooms but they looked clean. There is an outdoor pool and workout room available to use. Met some of the family running the resort and they were very friendly! Would definitely return.
Sep 18, 2022 · Stephanie CoulterNice, clean campground with full hookups & trash pick up. Mulligan's grill is a good place to grab a bite to eat & take a break from cooking.
