Old Town Mobile Home and RV Park Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" in the McAlester, Oklahoma area, Old Town Mobile Home and RV Park, located at 2740 N 7th St, presents a location that offers a blend of rural and urban accessibility. According to one resident, the park benefits from being "outside city limits with the convenience of town," suggesting a quieter setting while still being within reach of local amenities and services in McAlester.
Adding to this perspective, another resident shared a positive experience, stating, "We have been very comfortable and welcomed by friendly and helpful neighbors. A great response able landlord that is fair and friendly. We have gatherings and play cards and games along with cookouts frequently." This review highlights a sense of community within the park, with mentions of social gatherings and a positive relationship with the landlord. For those seeking a welcoming and interactive environment among fellow residents, this feedback suggests that Old Town Mobile Home and RV Park fosters a neighborly atmosphere.
However, it is crucial to consider all available feedback to gain a comprehensive understanding of Old Town Mobile Home and RV Park. Another, significantly more critical review presents a contrasting perspective. This reviewer expresses concerns regarding "very shady business practices," alleging a refusal to accept payments made out to the business and insisting on money orders in the manager's name or cash only, reportedly even rejecting bill pay from banks. Potential residents should be aware of these reported payment policies and may wish to inquire further about the park's financial transactions.
Furthermore, this critical review raises serious concerns about the condition and management of the property. The reviewer claims that the property "as you look around violates every word of the lease everywhere," despite the lease containing standard clauses regarding the upkeep of vehicles and yards (e.g., "no derelict vehicles or trashy yards"). Specific issues mentioned include "trashed out yards, clutter, constant smell of burn barrels, terrible driveway full of potholes that will twist and bend your vehicles and campers, not a very clean place, no trash service, no mail service, vehicles parked around on flats clearly not running." These are significant allegations regarding the overall environment and maintenance of the park, which potential residents should carefully consider and, if possible, verify through a visit to the property.
The review also points to inconsistencies in the enforcement of park rules, specifically regarding pets. It is claimed that while the lease requires animals to be leashed and cleaned up after, the "landlord's own dogs run loose and defecate everywhere without her cleaning any of it up." Such discrepancies in rule enforcement can lead to dissatisfaction among residents and impact the overall living environment.
Adding to the concerns about the property's condition, the reviewer describes the driveway as being in poor repair with "terrible driveway full of potholes" that could potentially damage vehicles and campers. The lack of trash service and mail service, if accurate, would also be significant drawbacks for potential long-term residents. The presence of non-operational vehicles ("vehicles parked around on flats clearly not running") could contribute to a cluttered appearance, aligning with the earlier comment about "trashed out yards" and "clutter." The reviewer concludes by stating that after personally observing the property, they "refused to allow my dad to move his camper there," indicating a strong negative impression.
Given these contrasting reviews, it is challenging to form a definitive picture of Old Town Mobile Home and RV Park. While one resident speaks positively of the community and landlord, another raises serious allegations about business practices and the overall condition and management of the property. Potential residents searching for "RV parks near me" in McAlester should approach Old Town Mobile Home and RV Park with caution and conduct thorough due diligence before making any decisions.
Due diligence should include contacting the park directly at (918) 421-9459 or +1 918-421-9459 to inquire about their policies, amenities, and current conditions. It would also be highly advisable to schedule a visit to the property to personally assess the environment, the condition of the RV sites and infrastructure, and to observe the community firsthand. During a visit, potential residents can pay close attention to the cleanliness of the grounds, the state of the driveways, the upkeep of individual lots, and the presence and behavior of pets.
Asking specific questions about payment methods, trash disposal procedures, mail service, and the enforcement of park rules, particularly regarding pets and property maintenance, is essential. It would also be prudent to inquire about the average length of stay of residents, as this can sometimes provide insights into the overall satisfaction levels within the park. Speaking with current residents, if possible, could also offer valuable perspectives beyond those found in online reviews.
In conclusion, Old Town Mobile Home and RV Park in McAlester, OK, presents a location that is reportedly convenient to town while being situated outside city limits. While some residents have experienced a friendly community and responsive landlord, significant concerns have been raised regarding business practices and the maintenance and management of the property. Potential residents searching for "RV parks near me" in the area should carefully weigh the available information, contact the park directly with specific inquiries, and ideally conduct a personal visit to determine if Old Town Mobile Home and RV Park meets their individual needs and expectations.

Jul 13, 2024 · kathy williamsVery shady business practices, refuses to take any form of payment made out to the business. Insists on money orders directly in managers name or cash only won't even take bill pay from your bank. Lease says things like no derelict vehicles or trashy yards etc things you would expect to see on a lease and yet the property as you look around violates every word of the lease everywhere. Claims all animals must be on a leashb and must be picked up after yet the landlord's own dogs run loose and defecate everywhere without her cleaning any of it up. trashed out yards, clutter, constant smell of burn barrels, terrible driveway full of potholes that will twist and bend your vehicles and campers, not a very clean place, no trash service, no mail service, vehicles parked around on flats clearly not running. And the landlord's house is one of the worst. After seeing the place I refused to allow my dad to move his camper there.
Mar 12, 2024 · AJ Mosbey (AJ's Advanced Automotive)We have little over 2 years. And we love it. My kids can go outside and play with no problems. Vanessa is great. We have never had a landlord do has for us as she has.
Nov 29, 2023 · Brandie LittlejohnVery nice place. The landlord is great!! You can put up a fence. It's not in city limits. I love it here. Very acomadating she has fixed the roads. I recommend it!!
Jun 20, 2024 · Barbie HodgesHave a friend that lives there and from my visits looks like nothing is properly cared for. I damage my car getting in and out of the park. For a mobile home park they don’t provide dumpsters from the people who pay a lot of money for the spot they have. I have never been able to visit without the smell of weed in the air. To think children could be in that is a scary thought. I wish my friend could find something else to put his camper but because of the age of it and the need to be close to work so currently no choice.
