Pelican Point RV Park Introduce
Are you searching for breathtaking "RV parks near me" along the stunning California coast? Look no further than Pelican Point RV Park, ideally situated at 1001 Miramontes Point Rd in Half Moon Bay, CA. This RV park offers a prime location with exceptional natural beauty, friendly service, and well-maintained facilities, making it an excellent choice for your next RV vacation or getaway.
Location and Environment:
Pelican Point RV Park boasts a truly spectacular location in Half Moon Bay. Reviews consistently highlight its stunning beauty and prime setting. One visitor described the location as looking "like a scene right out of a movie," emphasizing its picturesque quality. The park's proximity to the Pacific Ocean is a major draw, offering great views and easy access to the coastline. One reviewer specifically mentioned "Great views of the Pacific ocean," further underscoring this key environmental feature.
The park is also conveniently located near the Ritz Carlton on Miramontes Point, a landmark known for its spectacular oceanfront setting. This proximity suggests that Pelican Point RV Park shares in the same desirable coastal environment. Additionally, the presence of a trail leading down to a "gorgeous" beach adds significant appeal for those who enjoy seaside relaxation and exploration. The mention of a "nudist beach pretty well hidden on other side of beach" indicates the diverse coastal landscape in the area, though access to this particular spot involved a lengthy 6.5-mile hike, which one reviewer humorously passed on.
While one reviewer noted that they experienced four days without sunshine during their week-long stay (likely due to coastal fog, which is common in the area), they still found the overall experience positive, highlighting the beauty of the location. The drive around the mountains to reach the park was described as "not too bad," suggesting that while the approach might involve some winding roads, it is manageable and likely scenic.
The park itself is described as "immaculate," indicating that the grounds are very well kept and contribute to the overall pleasant environment. This attention to detail in maintaining the park enhances the visitor experience and creates a welcoming atmosphere.
Services and Amenities:
Pelican Point RV Park appears to offer a range of services and amenities aimed at ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay for its guests. The positive reviews consistently praise the staff, with one reviewer noting that the "gentleman that's been working the store/campground the last few days has been incredibly kind/personable." Another reviewer described the staff as "really friendly and accommodating," highlighting their helpfulness. This positive feedback about the staff suggests a welcoming and supportive environment for visitors.
One reviewer specifically mentioned that the staff "assisted me in the set-up and breakdown of my RV," indicating a level of service that goes beyond basic campground management. This assistance can be particularly valuable for those who are new to RVing or who appreciate an extra hand.
The presence of an "office/store" on-site is another convenient amenity. According to one review, this store has "many supplies, snacks and drinks," making it easy for guests to purchase essentials and refreshments without having to leave the park. The store's willingness to lend a coaxial cable to a guest so they could watch cable TV demonstrates a commitment to customer service and going the extra mile to meet guest needs.
While specific details about other amenities are not extensively provided in the reviews, the well-maintained nature of the park ("immaculate") suggests that basic facilities such as restrooms and potentially showers are likely clean and in good condition. However, explicit confirmation of these amenities would require contacting the park directly.
One minor drawback mentioned by a reviewer was "having to back into the spots." This suggests that the parking configuration at Pelican Point RV Park primarily involves back-in sites, which can be challenging for some RVers, especially those with larger rigs or less experience with maneuvering. However, the helpful staff may provide assistance with this.
Features and Highlights:
The standout features of Pelican Point RV Park revolve around its exceptional location and the quality of service. The "beautiful, prime location" with its proximity to a "gorgeous" beach and stunning Pacific Ocean views is undoubtedly a major highlight. The easy access to the beach via a trail enhances the appeal for beach lovers and those seeking coastal recreation.
The friendly and accommodating staff, who are willing to assist with RV setup and even lend out supplies, contribute significantly to a positive guest experience. The well-maintained ("immaculate") grounds further enhance the overall appeal and comfort of the park.
The proximity to the Ritz Carlton on Miramontes Point adds a touch of luxury and grandeur to the surrounding area, making the location feel even more special. While not directly an amenity of the RV park, the presence of such a high-end resort nearby speaks to the desirability of the location.
The mention of a nearby nudist beach (though requiring a long hike) indicates the diverse natural landscape and potential for different types of beach experiences in the vicinity.
For those seeking a laid-back and relaxing atmosphere, one reviewer described the campground as "laid back to boot," suggesting a tranquil and unhurried environment perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Pelican Point RV Park Reviews
Currently on our week long spring break vacation and this place is stunning! Beautiful, prime location and the gentleman that's been working the store/campground the last few days has been incredibly kind/personable. The beach down the trail is absolutely gorgeous, being just down the road from the Rits it looks like a scene right out of a movie. The campground is emmaculate and laid back to boot. We will for sure be coming back!
Mar 18, 2025 · Julina RaquelI stayed here for a week, it was four days before I saw sunshine. The drive around the mountains was not too bad. The resort is very well maintained and the staff are really friendly and accommodating. They assisted me in the set-up and breakdown of my RV. The only negative I have, is having to back into the spots.😬 The office/store has many supplies, snacks and drinks. I didn't have a coaxial cable and they let me borrow one so I could watch cable TV. Great views of the Pacific ocean and golf course on the ocean hillside. The Ritz Carlton on Miramontes Point is spectacular. There was also a nudist beach pretty well hidden on other side of beach but the hike down to the beach was 6.5 miles, yep, I passed.😬🤣 I would definitely stay here again.
Sep 08, 2023 · Gwendolyn McBride BivensMy new go to spot for my visits to the San Francisco Bay Area. Gorgeous views with access to the Coastal Trail. For those not familiar with the area, always be prepared for cool, foggy weather. We hit the weather jackpot. Crystal clear skies and unusually warm temps.
Feb 24, 2024 · Alan BoyleAmazing place! First time here but well traveled travel trailer campers. We were so impressed with the service from making a reservation all the way to check out! Public restrooms were clean! A short walk to Yule beach! Beautiful clean beach! The sites were big and clean! Honestly cannot wait to come back!
Apr 29, 2024 · Mie YangThis was our first time staying here and I loved it! Booked 5 days but wanted 7...while we were there they were able to give me 2 more days! Park is a 5min walk to the beach but the views of the rolling grass hills of the golf course is fine. Right next to the Coastal trail that takes you past the Ritz Carlton with beautiful views all around. Cant wait to come back
